Almost 10 years later, a totally different meel gets a nearly identical concept lol

Guess who arrived yesterday! Unfortunately, while the horns on either doll were not broken off like others have experienced the Xun Yuan (blue) has some severe scratching on one horn. I've contacted the seller to see about getting a replacement perhaps. Bing Li (purple) is absolutely lovely though and I really wish they had done the semi-transparent dragon parts for all the dolls. The solid dragon body just lacks depth. I will likely be selling off the blue boy's dragon body so if you're interested, please shoot me a message!

Your Val is so cute! I love the orange hair with the blue skin - such a lovely combo. Thanks for the eye rec! I did, in fact, end up getting a super tiny eye mold and making Thistle eyes that I'm very pleased with and I'm excited to learn more about eye-making!

But also reblogging because I want this as future reference and hoping that it will help others who are on the hunt for tiny eyes as well!

A while ago I took Winter apart for cleaning and noticed that his thighs, which were not MSC coated, had yellowed disproportionately despite wearing clothes all the time. So since I had to take him apart anyway, I decided to give him a complete refreshment.

He's on a old, cheap Angeldoll body and his snapping hips drove me crazy. So first thing, I superglued them into the torso. Then I did a body blush on his upper half and feet - the rest just got a MSC coating.

I'd also gotten a little tired of the black bird tattoos, and I was stuck on porcelain, so I researched traditional porcelain patterns, and arrived at the Royal Copenhagen Musselmalet.

It took some practicing (and a little screaming):

But here's Winter's new body blush, front and back!

I am not confident that it will hold up well, but I enjoy it right now :)

Honestly, this is a HUGE reason why I love them and relate a lot to them as well!

Currently thinking about why Twyla x Manny have begun to mean so much to me in such a short amount of time.

Manny is a smart, nerdy, big dude who most definitely doesn’t fit into the societal norms for Big Burly Guy.

Twyla is the shy, autistic girl who quite literally prefers to hide in the shadows.

They’re both outcasts in their own ways.

And he has a crush on HER. She goes out of her way not to be seen or noticed, but he notices her!

If A Fright To Remember is to be seen as semi-canon, they bond over their love of the library! Of books! Of knowledge! And they read together!

Off the top of my head I cannot think of a canon autistic character that has had someone crushing on them, especially in children’s media.

And as a neurodivergent individual, it means a lot to me.

I made a second pair of tiny eyes! The iris is a bit too small for my preference on Fern, so I'm getting some larger eye molds and probably pushing the color scheme more gold than green next time. But I'm having so much fun making eyes!
