I think I made the day of the tea shop lady when I told her I kinda of knew of "the chinese way of making tea" and I wanted to buy myself a gaiwan to try it out. I told her that I've been described as "someone who likes her infusion to taste like grass" and she picked for me a yellow tea, telling me why it is called that and making sure I would brew it in a manner I could make justice to it. She even weigthed for me a small 25g bag as opposed as their standard 50g so that I could just taste it, all the time saying how wonderful it was I just went out and decided to brew in a gaiwan.
This is a reminder that people want you to give the things they are passionate about a try and will put up with your stupid noob question if you are not obnoxious about it.
Aged shou mei, this is my first time having aged white tea.
Lovely rich notes of grape juice? Reminds me of the homemade grape juice my grandma used to make. Def those classic earthy early spring foliage notes, reminds me of the smell of freshly peeled aspen bark.
