I too am someone who looks more at character dynamics over looks haha. I tend to dislike ships where the characters have personalities that clash, especially when that leads to fighting (There's a certain balance I need. a little tension & disagreement is good, but if they just upset eachother when together, then they probably shouldn't be together imo!)

The fact you like rougaze is funny, cause I also love rougaze LOL This gif of them lives in my head rent-free tbh

In order not to make this post too massive, I'll put my shadails-specific thoughts under the cut ^_^

SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT IN ADVANCE

Okay, so one thing about me is that my sonic-brain functions very heavily in the archie-sonic-verse... This doesn't matter too much, but it may help contextualize how I interpret them haha.

I always thought that Shadow and Tails might get to know one another better over work, actually. Tails runs a workshop and does commission work, so I felt like he would probably work with GUN on R&D projects sometimes. Sonic Chronicles kind of confirms this as well (secretly Chronicles is the best game since it was based on the archie sonic comics). Since Shadow also works for GUN (sometimes. depending on how SEGA is feeling) they would likely run into eachother on occasion, and with Tails being who he is, he'd try to start up conversations with Shadow just to be friendly ... Shadow, being who he is, would probably ignore these olive branches for the most part until Tails says something that catches his attention. Which wouldn't be too difficult, since vehicles and weapons are kinda up Shadow's alley after all lol

I heavily prescribe to the idea that Shadow, while gruff and angry on the outside, is actually a big softie inside. I always felt like Tails would be pretty good at pulling that out of him... it's hard to be angry at Tails after all. Also, the similarities to Maria that I mentioned in the slideshow add to this :b Shadow has a lot of trauma that I feel like Tails would be able to help him work through just by being a good friend tbh. He's got a bad habit of self-isolating and bottling thing up, but Tails is unintrusive and a good listener.

More on Tails' side of things... He often feels overshadowed by Sonic, and unrecognised/underappreciated by others. He wants to be respected & acknowledged for his achievements, but as Sonic's sidekick, lots of people just attribute his accomplishments to Sonic instead... Shadow is the type to see someone as they are though. He's surprisingly open about the qualities he respects in people. Tails would always know that Shadow has his back, and would be able to rely on him for support. Tails' trauma isn't as severe as Shadow's, but he still struggles due to being an orphan & from the bullying he experienced as a child. He'd be able to connect with Shadow over those feelings of loneliness... trauma buddies xoxo

I also just think. it would be so funny. Imagining Sonic finding out his best bud & little brother is dating his angsty dark brooding rival is very funny to me. (I wrote a fic about it :] )

I could go on, but I do have other things to do and this post is getting kind of long LOL thanks for reading my rambling! Hope you found it entertaining at least :b
