pt. 4 of my second artfight!

this month was crazy with a vacation trip and an internship on top of this, so i was shocked i was able to get to 14 attacks. hoping to make it to 20 next year!! (an unrealistic goal, i know, but i can dream)

Imagine having all the secrets of those around you... all of the knowledge of other people's lives and thoughts at your very fingertips... but as you get stronger and stronger you lose yourself more and more. You can't even remember your own name... or what you used to look like as you become blind to your own body. Others can see it but they're too afraid of you for reasons not even then can comprehend... just an overwhelming, crushing dread that creeps into their very soul... you drive those you love further away with their fear, and so, you grow stronger and in turn you lose parts of yourself more and more...

You've forgotten what you started on this path for... it started out as a mere curiosity but it grew and grew following the demise of the one you unknowingly felt something for. Your search grew frantic, desperate. You needed those secrets, you needed those answers, just to know where-... where he went- why they were taken from you...!

Your love, your brother, yourself to the fruits of an insatiable obsession that swallowed you whole and left nothing behind...

Even as that same man stood amongst the vast, broken wreckages of that ever-expanding office, you cant even see the hand in front of your face... even in the daylight, you feel but can't see. But you see everything and feel nothing... his eyes meet yours and he practically... glides towards you and-... he embraced you. A fleeting moment of respite... he can see you... he sees you. You. You who caused irreparable damage to others without laying so much as a finger on them. He embraced. You.

Michael is the weird kid who got bullied into being quiet and shy, so he now just sits in big sweaters in the corner of the playground with a bucket of colorful chalk he was given by the Spiral Teacher to use.

Maybe Gerry is the kid everyone is intimidated by but is actually really nice and just sits with Michael and draws with him.

in one of those 'what if they were all just playign an elaborate game on a playground' aus, michael would have those folded paper claws on her fingers and helen would have those cone shaped chips.

It's so interesting how Michael Shelley (the human) was so trusting, caring and so honest, but that lead to him being deceived, tricked and lied to and made him become the living embodiment of lies, delusion and confusion.

I think that's why the Distortion chose Helen over him. Michael still had that small human part of him that was the exact opposite of the Distortion.

Michael the Distortion doesn't want to be Michael because of how the nature of Michael Shelley and Michael the Distortion contradict; one is honest and trusting and deceived while the other one lies, deceives and confuses, and this robs the Distortion of its purpose. The only reason Michael even became the Distortion is that he had the map to help him.

Michael the Distortion wants desperately to be understood, for someone to know the injustice of what happened to poor Michael, and so he lets Jon take his statement and know the honest and bare truth.

Michael got "distracted" with the feelings of Michael Shelley, leading to the door to the Distortion being locked for him and Helen becoming the Distortion.

Leaving Michael once again discarded and disposed of, for simply being too honest and human. Ironic how the first time he's discarded is when he opens the door, and the second time is when the door does not open for him anymore.

Charlie and Stanley were just simple office workers... Charlie wanting nothing more than to be a video game designer and Stanley... well... ANYWAYS-

Alimanc was a magician and had a passion for gardening, adoring greenery and plant life. With a certain adoration for Wisteria Trees and Forgetmenot Flowers.

Nero was a journalist actively climbing the ranks of a newspaper company he worked for. (so he can be all 'wordy mc wordyson')

Pamela was a librarian with a love for antique books, had a passion for fashion though it never went anywhere.

(The order each of them are in, in this lineup is the order they died in. The order of when each one of them was a victim of the Parable (right to left))

The Stanley Parable

The Magnus Archives

Ramblings beneath

In the Magnus Archives there are 14 main fears, most of these have domains/pocket dimensions, the Vast, the Spiral and the Lonely most commonly known for having domains.

What if the Stanley Parable takes place within a domain? Like a mix between several different ones and functions similarly to the Spiral's halls.

Maybe it wasn't just Stanley who fell victim to the Parable. Maybe there were many before him.

The Parable wouldn't follow just one fear, but any of them, like a sink or drain for fear to be harvested for all the Entities to use.

Of course this is an AU thingy, as per usual

Essentially, an unfortunate someone is randomly picked from the masses and put into the Parable, where those whom serve the Parable would have to make a story surrounding that person for them to follow, to intentionally lay options to slowly drain as much fear as they can over time. Eventually it'll reach a point where the victim will serve no purpose, and so, another will be spontaneously picked.

Points where the victim may cease to be of use could range from physical maladies if they cannot be abused to create more fear or general insanity, as seen with the Mariella ending in TSP. (And maybe at the end of that, they could grab Mariella to take Stanley's place as the new victim) typically when a victim reaches this state, the victim will be killed and not brought back again.

The other outcome is that they become an avatar of the Parable. Which is where the Narrator, The Curator, Time Keeper, etc come into play. They're all avatars of the Parable. And would've been victims before Stanley himself, their abilities depend upon how they went through the Parable and who they were, prior to becoming an avatar.

Typically these avatars will have dread powers/fear abilities based from two fears, such as the Narrator being a hybrid of The Eye and The End. Allowing him to bring Stanley back and to be omnipresent.

And finally, to Stanley. At least in this AU, Stanley does become an 'avatar'... sort of one, but not in the typical way the others would. (I know the true ending isnt the Game ending but IDC) He fell through the holes in the developmental areas to get away from the Narrator in attempt to prove his power over his fate and how he was in fact in control. His time in this 'abyssal' zone, without the Narrator being present to prevent what happened to Stanley in this, essentially became warped and distorted as the folds of code tried to neutralise him. To squish him like a bug. But due to the nature of Stanley's existence... this fails. And he ends up looking stretched and his form changes to resemble parts of certain endings he'd gone through, rather than who he was specifically. Becoming an unholy amalgamation between a tall mannequin, with wires just barely holding his unnaturally lanky body together that looked more akin to strings on a marionette than anything close to armature wire for a statue. With an oddly plastic, mouthless face with glassed eyes. Still with that tie around his neck as the only thing to truly remind Stanley of who he is. Of who he was...

Stanley became The Strung. An 'avatar' of the Parable and an envoy of The Stranger and The Lonely. Able to pour his essence like water from a bucket and slither his wires through the boundaries and cracks in walls, to stretch himself impossibly thin and use his wire insides to crawl into the shells of other mannequins. But not once. Does he ever forget his work tie...
