Sara Paxton being glued into her mermaid tail for her part in Aquamarine. The process takes two hours, and in combination with hair and make-up, four hours. The tail design was inspired by low riding jeans that were popular at the time of filming, the 2000s.

The Feminine Complex “It’s Magic”

The Feminine Complex were an all-female garage rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. They were founded in 1966 when the girls were still in high school, initially calling themselves The Pivots before they changed their name to The Feminine Complex.

“Everybody was just throwing out stuff…And somebody threw out a name, and I don’t remember which one of the girls, I think it was Mindy, said, ‘No, we need something feminine’–and I just added 'Complex’ to it. We weren’t simple!”

Their only album, Livin’ Love, was released in 1969, around the same time the band broke up.
