Okay Radiant Historia fans just hear me out

This is the original Stocke, from the first rendition of the game. Art by, I presume, Hiroshi Konishi (correct me if I'm wrong.) He is seasoned. Confident, with his relaxed demeanor. Introspective. Ground down, world-weary. A little greasy. Has slept in these clothes. He probably cut his own hair with a knife while he was out on a mission. He has seen people die; some he killed himself. Some he watched die, the light fade from their eyes and blood gurgling in their lungs. He faced that truth and it became a part of him. He accepted it. He will do it again. He's not a man with clean hands or heart, but he has a goal he would like to see come true. If it doesn't, if he fails, he will accept that too, and try again next time. He is world-wise and tired but still here. He's a veteran.

This is the Stocke from the 3DS remake, art I believe by Masaki Hirooka. This Stocke is baby. Untested. He's nervous, anxious. He may have seen someone die and it made him want to challenge the world. It hurt him; he has not moved on from that moment. He has a vision, a mission, and he's raring to make it happen. Has the same energy as a new soldier who believes he can and will end the war by doing something uniquely pivotal only he can do. Fresh. Young. Has nice conditioner, hair cut by a professional hairdresser, clothes nicely laundered.

I don't begrudge the new artist - remakes are tricky, games are complex, and it's possible their art director thought that this look would make the game more appealing to new audiences. Maybe it did! I can't tell you!

I don't, however, like the new Stocke. I prefer the one that's got eyes that are a little bit dead inside, the one who has seen some shit.

So, for any fans who feel the same way, I did a little repaint. Again, this is NOT to say the original remake art is bad - it's very good, it's beautiful, it's well made! I just prefer a different art direction, and share this version for those who would like to see this too.

It is just a paint over the sprite, not a redraw, and I definitely do not take credit for it. This is still 90% the original sprite, just with some adjustments made.

"My mother favored a lot of classical music. Things like Mozarts and Beethoven, but also a lot of church choir, which is where I learned to sing initially." Rory replied before pausing briefly. Fenton: I have to be honest but you’re generally a nice guy, but you can be pretty inconsiderate at times.

"Well it's not like I try to be. Sometimes it's like I'm thinking too fast and I just... overlook things." Fenton replied honestly. It wasn't like he tried to be selfish or a jerk. He just would get ideas and get so caught up in them that he missed other things like how it might affect others.

"I don't think "like" has anything to do with it. It's more a tool for the job. You know? Like you don't drive a car without a seat belt, right? It's the same principle. I'm setting a good example for Gosalyn." Drake replied honestly.

The Broker, were you able to make new friends during your stay in this world?

OOC/Mun: I can't find it off hand but I answered a question like this before. The short answer is no. She is very distrustful, she makes business partners and clients but is wary of deeper connections because of what happened to her when she first arrived.

He never said it was a great name or anything, just what he had dreamed the other night. Still, the idea of a baby was kinda nice though the dream was probably telling him it was a terrible idea... assuming dreams meant anything anyway.

"Verne, huh? Guess that's more normal. I thought about Ventis, but you know I'm better at Porn names, not naming kids." He stated quickly before adding. "Not that we plan on having any kids or anything!" Sure, their were ways to get one, but it was unorthodox and came with a lot of problems beyond the usual you'd have up on earth. It was rare to see kids in hell and given his line of work? That wasn't any place for a kid... though if he were to have one, Vox and Velvette were people he trusted to keep said child away from that stuff.

And that could very well be because he never intends on having children to name, but that's neither here nor there. What an awful name for a poor, defenseless child. Vicious.

"I would've picked something like, I don't know... Verne? Vaughn? Vicious is the name of a rabid dog. Our hypothetical son doesn't even get to have a proper name in your dreams?"

"Jokes aside, how long has it been? A few hours, days? Or too freaked out to keep track?" Val asked his alternate, with a more serious tone. It was entirely possible that the other moth was right. "If you hold up in here all the time... people are gonna start suspecting... you can only lie for so long... you need me to play as you're double for a while?" He asked. They could pull it off with an ear piece, his alternate could feed him information on how he did things if they were different.
