Hi!
I love how you connected your passion for documentaries with a love of learning. Amazingly, you're always seeking new information, even about topics you wouldn't choose. That curiosity and openness to learn something new is an important skill, and it's great that you've realized how much it fuels your overall growth. It’s inspiring to see how you’re applying that mindset to your academic work, and it sounds like it enhances your learning process!
Original Content Writing Week 15 (2)
What do you like most about your learning?
Something thing I realized at some point since I started at Millersville is how much I enjoy learning. I've always been obsessed with documentaries and it didn't click in my head until recently that it's because I honestly just love learning about something new. Literally there's a website I use that is a random documentary generator and I'll watch the most random documentaries just so I can learn about something new. Yes it might be something boring or something I have no interest in but I'm still learning! So, I love how much I love learning.

Hi!
I liked the approach in your CL Reflection you took by highlighting multiple projects rather than just one. It's great you recognized the variety of objectives and purposes in the assignments and used that diversity to strengthen your reflection. That approach gives a fuller picture of your growth and shows your ability to adapt to various challenges.
Original Content Writing Week 15 (3)
What do you like the most about your CL Reflection?
I think I did a good job highlighting different projects we worked on throughout the semester rather than just referencing one. The projects we worked on were varied in their objectives and purposes so I tried to use that to my advantage when discussing different topics throughout the reflection.

Hi!
I agree with what you say about the design project, which relates well to the writing focus. This way, connecting with your material and producing more interesting content is much easier. Like you, I feel that using personal experiences and emotions can create more realistic and relatable content. Interesting how real-life scenarios, even in fictional settings, help mold the story and make it as realistic as possible. It sounds like this project allowed you to tap into your writing strengths, and it's great to hear it was your best work for the class!
What am I most proud of with my writing process?
The design project we previously had involved imagining a specific scenario with a canceled show included making posts from the creators and from angry fan. I really connected with this project and feel like it was my best writing for the class. Writing with a narrative in mind is what I find the most engaging, and I feel I am able to make decently realistic depictions of people engaging with others. This writing process involves considering real world experiences I have witnessed and emotions I have personally felt, and I feel this personal knowledge improves my writing.

OCP Final (3/3)
What do you like the most about your CL Reflection? #writ318mu #week15

Hi Everyone!
What I like most about my CL Reflection is how it helped me clearly connect my growth as a writer to real-world skills like critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. It was rewarding to reflect on how I’ve applied course concepts, such as audience awareness and genre conventions, in practical assignments. By linking my academic progress to these essential workplace skills, I feel more confident about how I can apply what I’ve learned in future professional settings.
Reflecting on specific projects, such as the content strategy guide and social media posts, gave me a deeper understanding of how I’ve developed throughout the course. It’s also been motivating to see how these skills will shape my approach to job application materials, like my resume and cover letter.
Happy Writing!

OCP Week 15 (2/3)
what are you most proud of with your writing process? #writ318mu #week15

Hi Everyone!
I’m most proud of how adaptable my writing process has become throughout WRIT 318 Web Writing. Learning to tailor my writing to different audiences, platforms, and purposes has been a significant growth point for me. I’ve become more deliberate in planning, drafting, and revising to meet the unique needs of each project.
For example, creating social media posts required creativity and a sharp focus on audience engagement and platform-specific conventions. Balancing clarity with conciseness has been a rewarding challenge, and I’m proud of how I’ve refined these skills.
Happy Writing!

OCP Finals (1/3)
what do you like most about your learning? #writ318mu #week15
Hi Everyone!
The most important aspect of my learning is the possibility of observing tangible growth in skills over time. Every new assignment in WRIT 318 challenged me to rethink my approach to writing, either by analyzing audience needs, experimenting with digital genres, or using comments from my peers.
I was also pleased with the ability to reflect on my work and build my understanding of how ideas about user experience, information architecture, and discourse communities help people make effective digital content. This self-awareness has been rewarding, not just because it proves I have improved, but where I need to improve next.
Happy Writing!

Thursday Check-In Finals
what questions about writing skill development do you have? #writ318mu #week15 @npfannen

Hi!
With this being the last week of the course and all, I’ve been reflecting a bit on my writing development over the course of this course.
Being a musician I come from a field where practicing an hour a day is enough to build a better musicianship.
Is there a way that I can continue practicing writing for an amount a day/week that will overall keep me where I am at/improve my development?
Thank you!

Hi!
I love how this looks. I think using stories as a reply based system is so unique, I doubt any one else is doing it this way.
It’s also very modern in a way that this is exactly what companies are doing when responding. I feel like no one uses twitter or tumblr anymore for mass fan communication.
Original Content #3
share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise?
I posted an example of an original content piece that I created for this project in my post for the professor, asking for more feedback on it, but here is an example of what I created on my TV show's Instagram story. This to me the easiest way to create posts, so I highly recommend it, but with Instagram, I’m struggling to find new ways to post my content and overall I feel like my content is very repetitive which I would love to get feedback on how I can change that and make it better and more creative will also still appealing to the Instagram audience. I can’t really make a Reel for this, but as I am creating my last seven posts as the TV show account reacting to people‘s criticism of the cancellation, I’m a little stuck on ideas and how to be more creative. I would love suggestions as to how my other Instagram creators are making their content so unique. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

I love this!
I see you’re also using same website that I am for my twitter posts. The hashtags are very important for the discourse, so just make sure you’re repeating the same hashtags in every post!
Design Project
For my design project, I am creating fake tweets. These are some of the ones I've come up with and I wanted to make sure they looked fine. I was also wondering if there is a way to make names and discussion of the show less generic while also not using a real show.

Yes!
I love this, this example is great when talking about cancellations/pushing back dates.
At first this movie was supposed to come out March of this year, and then they pushed it back and half of the people were upset the rest happy!
Favorite Movie
Admittedly, I do not watch a lot of television. I have not kept up with my favorite show in months despite it still being on going. I do not watch a lot of movies either, but my favorite movie is Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse.
This movie is able to help me work through the project as it seems that the creators of this movie were aware of fan feedback online. Watching the fan base also helps me move through this project, as fans will sometimes grow attached to specific characters, get upset at certain changes that can be made, react positively to new facts or announcements, ect.

share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise? (repeatable x3) #writ318mu #week14
Hi Everyone!
This is a post I’ve created simulating a twitter post from the production company of FavoriteShow, the show we are all aware of lol.
I just would like some feedback, does it need anything more, less, etc.
Thanks!

OCP Week 14 (2/3)
share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels #writ318mu #week14

Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m a not okay with this, is exactly what I said when I found out this show was cancelled and not getting another season.
This show was amazing, from the casting to the director. Everything was going well for this show, and it was one of the biggest shows on Netflix back in 2020.
It’s a heart wrenching comedy/fiction/drama that just does not end right. Ending with cliff hanger that was teased in episode one! Just to never see the light of day again? Horrible

Thursday Check-In
Happy Thanksgiving!
we are nearing the end of the semester, what questions do you have about naming and transferring the writing skills you developed in this class to real world, real life, work situations? #writ318mu #week14 @npfannen

Hi!
So, most of my check-ins that have had to do about our web writing outside of this course have been about teaching, and how to utilize this concept for a teacher.
However, I have had a lot of fun with this course, and am considering continuing content creation outside of this course and outside of my future classroom.
Is there anything I should be on the lookout for when creating content on platforms whether it be TikTok/Instagram/Facebook, in terms of the privacy of a teacher.
Thank You!!!

OCP Week 14 (1/3)
share an example of your favorite television show or movie - how does that show/movie help you work through this project and understand angry fandom? #writ318mu #week14

Hi Everyone!
In terms of TV shows I’ve been hooked on over the years, The Flash has probably been the one I spent the most time watching.
When talking about fans/angry fans of a Tv shows, I definitely have seen the high and low of it from this show. This show has gone through great seasons horrible season, great casting, bad casting, all the way to seasons being cancelled.
When the show was live still, the fans would not stop to let them know what they were doing wrong, so I’m using all that energy towards this project!

Hi!
I love your take on this. It’s a nice way to calm down and relax.
You can listen to them while cooking, driving, sleeping. It’s an overall amazing form of content!
Appeal of long podcasts
explain the appeal of long podcasts
As mentioned with my explanation with long videos, audience members like long podcasts as the length is long enough for them to fully engorge on what all is going on when compared to something such as a 15 second short. The stimulation of action is much more settled, allowing for listeners to pop in to casually listen to the podcast whilst performing in extracurricular activities such as cooking or cleaning. The whole goal of podcast creation is to provide content in a long talk format so that users can comfortably listen to the podcast whilst without feeling over exhilarated.

Hi!
I love the idea of leaving the audience with wanting more. It just leaves the reader wanting to continue the relationship and continue with your content!
Write a style rule for writing a short Tumblr post - based on what you know so far, what is a key rule for getting notices?
Style Rule: End with a Memorable Line
When writing a short Tumblr post, make your last line memorable. Whether it’s a clever twist, an emotional takeaway, or a bold statement, it should leave readers thinking—or feeling compelled to share. A strong closing line ties the post together and sticks with your audience after they scroll.
This works because Tumblr thrives on connection and reblogs. Posts that resonate emotionally or intellectually are more likely to be shared, creating a ripple effect that helps your content reach beyond your immediate followers. By focusing on how your post ends, you ensure it lingers in the minds of your audience, increasing engagement and visibility.
