My morning was made brighter by these cutie pies from @findyourwayhomeschool . It was a treat to talk to them about the mosaic murals, digital canopy art and laser cut column cladding art I designed for @ridecats ‘s 25th Street light rail station. The imagery incorporates abstracted Charlotte architecture and construction photos as well as silhouettes of various people, capturing the vibrant inhabitants of @optimistparkclt and @nodaclt . They painted some fun watercolors afterward and gifted me some! An @artpopstreetgallery alum, Tim explores reflections, water and architecture in much of his work. * KALIN DEVONE @kalin_renee A @talkingwallscharlotte muralist and @unccarts alum, Kalin also paints abstracts and portraits and is in an upcoming show at @blkmrktclt . * REID BRAMHALL @swych19 Swych is a painter and spray paint aficionado on the graffiti and mural scene, showing in galleries and assisting on projects with @mikewirth , @arko.clt among others. * IRIS HOLSTON @thedelusionalsailor A creative jack of all trades with an interest in painting, digital art, drawing, and fashion. This past weekend the exhibition honoring frontline workers at @brooklyncollectiveclt opened with @charlesedwill84, @arthurbros , @karlasosaart , @blakeleeferguson , @andreveloux and more. We enjoyed the twinkly outdoor patio at The Poplar House afterward. It runs through June 30, so stay tuned for more events! ❤️😷 50% of proceeds will go to front line charities. My piece, “The Line”, acrylic on canvas, 12” x 12”, is about my experience with the pharmacist at the drugstore drive-through window, his calm voice giving me instructions as I took the Covid test...I could see the compassion in his eyes peering over the mask.
