If your character was able to go back in time and change the course of one event, would they do so and why? Would this answer change if the resulting effect would also impact future events from that point, especially if it was for the worse? How would they impact your character?

Shawn tilted his head at the young woman. He seemed somewhat confused. He wasn’t that well versed in temporal mechanics and somewhat doubted his ability to understand it to it’s fullest...

“Well.. I’d want to change the events of the Great Calamity.” He said shyly. “To perhaps find a way to stop it. So many lives were lost and more of them were good friends.” He then thought for a moment.

“Though I’m sure most people would say that, yes?” He sighed after giving such a common answer... but at least it was honest? “As to how the change would effect everyone and myself? I’m sure everyone would be happier, though I’m sure some other calamity would eventually take it’s place. My father says these things then to happen when people mess with time.”

He then paused. “But I’m sure it’d turn into some paradox-ish thing Y’shtola would yell at me for. And by changing it we’d eventually come back to the point where I made the decision and there’d be no decision for me to make and the universe would probably explode or something.”

He then grinned. “’tis why I prefer the present.”
