I haven't read Stormbringer in a while, so correct me if i'm wrong, but Dazai basically co-conspiring with Verlaine is actually CRAZY. Like, imagine if Chuuya knew Oda was going to die and he not only was complacent but essentially helped, Dazai might've tried to kill him.

People never fully grasp how sad Soukoku's relationship actually is. Dazai staying in the Port Mafia would not have saved their relationship, we see in the BEAST manga that instead of them having a similar relationship to when they were kids, now they just have a weird power-imbalance thing between them. Their relationship was so juvenile that in any universe where both of them live past 18, they fall apart.

I think people referring to Chuuya as if he is French is a little weird. I get where the misconception comes from, Verlaine is technically his brother (although more so metaphorically rather than physically), and people tend to see that and think "Okay, he's French too!", and then you get all the fanfics where Chuuya is referred to as a foreigner and etc, but like, his name is Nakahara Chuuya, and he says in Stormbringer when Verlaine refers to him as his brother that he 'doesn't remember having a European brother' because he is not European. I mean, do whatever you want with your fanfics! Just note that he doesn't have any canonical relation to France outside of Verlaine and he is not written to be a foreigner.

I might be presumptuous but my take for BSD (which I haven't heard anyone speak of before) is that Fyodor totally has a weird psychosexual obsession with Dazai, like, hear me out. Fyodor is constantly trying to take the 'pawns' that Dazai has, literally trying to replace him in this honestly delusional way, (ex. chapter 105.5 where Fyodor implies that he knows Chuuya better than Dazai???) and now he is attempting to get Atsushi on his side by 'saving' him. I don't even ship Fyozai but from Fyodor's actions it feels like he wants to be Dazai in this weird way.
