I think I wasn't tagged in a gift reveal, as I only have three on the blog from this round, so if you don't see your gift on here tag me or message me and I'll reblog it.

But that's a wrap for now, otherwise! I'll start contacting those who wanted to talk over mod gifts and start working on the gifts tonight, provided I get my sleep pattern back to some semblance of normal. But as long as we have at least four participants by the cut-off date when I post sign-ups in October, we'll be back later this year for another round (and this year I will remember to send addresses for the gift card exchange, I promise)!

What Irish Christmas tradition do you most think would make a great fit for Sherlolly? (Or, what would be the worst, ie, funniest, tradition?)

I think there might be two.

The first, which would be a great fit for Sherlolly, is Nollaig na mBan or Women’s Christmas (sometimes called Little Christmas). That’s December 6th when all the Christmas decorations are supposed to come down, and women are supposed to be given a break from all household chores (hence Women’s Christmas).

The other tradition is playing cards on Christmas Eve, sometimes all night, sometimes up to midnight, it depends on the family. It’s an old tradition now, and dying out unlike Women’s Christmas which has had a real resurgence in the last few years.

I do have a Sherlolly story based (VERY VERY LOOSELY) around an Irish Christmas tradition called the Running of the Wren, which traditionally takes place on St Stephen’s Day. You can read the fic here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36085654
