New York artist Iris Scott (b. 1984) paints vivid oil paintings with just her fingertips. And where artists normally mix colors on a palette, Scott takes a different approach altogether: she purchases every tube of pigment Holbein makes. A hundred plus tubes are at arm’s length as Scott rapidly switches between colors. Having traded in brushes for latex gloves, Iris Scott is history’s first artist to abandon brushes altogether and focus entirely on finger painting - and legitimizing it in the world of fine art. She happened upon finger painting while living in Taiwan during 2010. Scott chose not to clean her paint brushes one day because it would require pausing her work. Too engrossed in the present to put the painting on hold, Scott accidentally discovered the advantages of the technique literally at her fingertips. Today, she works with paint like a malleable, nearly clay-like medium, pushing it along the canvas in the thick, impressionistic smears that have become her trademark @Regrann from @irisscottart - "Gemini Peacocks" 16x20in oil on canvas finger painting.

TANGO OF MOVEMENT — Palette knife Oil Painting on Canvas by Leonid Afremov Leonid Afremov was born on 12 July 1955 in Vitebsk, Belarus, then former USSR, to Jewish parents Bella Afremova and Arkadiy Afremov. His father was a shoe designer and shoemaker. His mother worked in a metal factory in Vitebsk. He was born in the same town as Marc Chagall, who later became a significant role model to Afremov. Leonid Afremov keeps the majority of his art politically neutral. His paintings are not offensive to anyone nor send any hidden messages. The paintings usually reflect certain personal memories and emotions. Leonid Afremov tries to draw the viewer to have a certain feeling rather than tell a story via the painting, or have the viewer see the world how he sees it. The neutral attributes of Afremov’s art make the paintings appealing to almost any social, ethnic and age group. Leonid Afremov has been traveling quite extensively and has taken many photographs of different scenes that he later painted. Almost every painting he painted has a very personal inspiration. I am truly sorry to whomever will think this is offending or inappropriate; but i have to say that I absolutely love the thoroughness and amazing attention to details @Ritzcarlton Bahrain has. This picture is just a small example of how far have they gone to meet guests needs! Every inch of the hotel is pleasent with amazing staff, spa, lounge, security, hairdresser name it! I'm a very happy Shereen beacuse of their elite services.

So this is everyone's result after a week and there is mine not even half way through; I work steadily but at tortoise speed 🐢 😂 I've enjoyed every minute of Painting Geometry: Colour and Composition with 8- and 16-fold patterns taught my @lisavalkyrie at @princesartschool And meeting the amazing people I've grown so found of during the week! There is nothing like art bringing people together as one ♡
