Sherlock is still on the floor. He’s just taken off his pants. John instructs him to take everything else off and runs his eyes over Sherlock’s body slowly. Sherlock begins to squirm on the floor at this. John’s gaze makes him feel more exposed if that’s even possible. He’s naked on the floor in front of him and he can’t help feeling like he wants to sink into it and disappear. He spends a moment imagining this but he’s brought out of his own mind by the feeling of the riding crop making its way up the length of his cock and his mind betrays him when he gasps loudly in response.

He shuts his eyes tightly in an effort to control himself. He wonders if John can see the conflict playing out in his mind. The feel of the riding crop is gone, and just as he opens his eyes, John is there, kneeling beside him. He positions himself, straddling Sherlock’s upper body with his own and slowly brings his face to level with Sherlock’s, his mouth hovering dangerously close to Sherlock’s lips.

There are a thousand examples for why all of Sherlock S4 was fake, but here’s the only one I hold to:

The door to John’s flat was completely moved from its original location in MHR and HLV. There is no narrative purpose for this. The story doesn’t work better because the layout of the flat changed. This production design team is so meticulous in their sets and props, they would not just forget where this door is. They had a poster in the Pool scene in ASIB that was a shoutout to John’s blog post “The Speckled Blonde”, and we only saw it for three seconds. They had a painting made for TAB that was on screen for two seconds, just because they wanted a hand-painted sign of a man that looked like their director. They put every episode story into a stained-glass window in TAB that nobody noticed. They are *not* lazy. Any glaring set mistakes you see are meant to be seen.

John’s flat is different because whatever POV we’re in has not seen John’s flat, except for maybe in pictures. So, who would that be?

Sherlock. He’s never gone to John’s flat. He’s still in his mind palace. It’s EMP, starting at his gunshot wound or at the “You’d still have a future, with Mary”/“Anderson, here’s what happened” mind palace moment in The Empty Hearse.

Critics and fans rate this series at an all-time low, because we’re told to accept a bunch of implausible actions as truth.

Because we were never given context.

new rosie headcanon: at age 4-5 rosie gets really into fairytales and princes and princesses and all that jazz and she adores love stories and sherlock is so good at telling good night stories but they’re never about love, they’re always about adventures and good people defeating bad people and daddy and sherlock running through london at night chasing thieves and villains and it’s exciting but … there has to be more to it, right? so one evening she and john are sleeping over at 221B rosie asks sherlock to tell her a love story and sherlock starts out like “mmh well…um… once upon a time there was a princess in a land far far away,” and he’s already lost because he’s really not good with princes and princesses falling in love, and rosie interrupts him because he’s getting this all wrong anyway, a true love story has to be Real, so she asks if sherlock has ever been in love? and sherlock’s smile falters for a second and then it comes back, brighter than before but a bit bittersweet and maybe a bit sad, and he says “yes, once,” and rosie wants to know if it was a princess or a prince and sherlock tells her it was a prince, a beautiful, brave one who had faught many battles and defeated bad people and healed good ones before he met sherlock, and the very first night they spent together an evil cabbie tried to kill sherlock, but his new friend, his prince, saved sherlock’s life and sherlock fell in love instantly – and rosie asks why sherlock and the brave man he fell in love with are not together and sherlock just smiles and explains to her that the prince didn’t love sherlock back, not like that, he fell in love with a beautiful woman a while later and even married her, and that’s okay because when you really love someone, sometimes you have to give them up so they can be happy. sometimes love stories are a bit sad but they’re still love stories, and sherlock has many happy memories with the man he loves and that’s enough, and sherlock is slowly starting to feel extremely weird, opening up about unrequited love to a 5 year old who should have been asleep 30 minutes ago, the subject of the conversation being her father who’s waiting downstairs with the tea that’s getting cold but… sherlock just keeps going, he can’t really stop, until rosie is sleepy enough for him to give her a good night kiss on the forehead and switch the light off.

so the thing is, rosie is not an idiot and when they’re sitting at the breakfast table the next morning she fumbles with her toast gives sherlock a look and says, “is it daddy?” and sherlock nearly drops his fork and says “What” and rosie just completely matter-of-factly says “the prince. the one you fell in love with. who saved you from the cabbie. i think it’s daddy” and. sherlock and john on opposite ends of the kitchen table just. fucking dying.
