I started a new notebook today. I usually keep only one « active » and it serves as a personal archive as well ✨
(It feels like cutting your hair after a breakup haha)

The last one I started in summer 2022 when I was back in France (a few week before my grandma passed 😔)
I can feel the change and incertainty through the drawings in that notebook, I’ll be happy to go back to it in a few years but for now I feel like I need to start over ✨

Oh, shoot! Alex shared her loft pictures and I have never seen a loft like this. It is incredible for pink and pastel &/or bright color lovers. I hate my apt, now.
I love to experiment with light effects, but I never had a disco ball. I need a disco ball.
Kitty approves. She's so comfy on the shag carpet, baby.
The kitchen is wrapped with metallic vinyl.
What a different idea for an industrial loft.
The bath is groovy.
The lighting is stunning.

Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.
Wherever you are, Lyra my little summer star, I love you always! Thank you for being the best thing in my life.

anybody else feel that being human is like being a long-time syndicated cartoon character watching the world get more complex while your own design stays the same until youre incongruous with the reality around you??

*sigh* I wish social medias were more about actually sharing stuffs again than this monetization machine it has become…
I miss sharing stories of my WIPs ! Here is a jacket i’m making !

Its been painted and repainted a few times because I wasn’t happy with the design (which, I still find cool tho !)

Hi, I’m here to share a bit of the process of making…

…These babiiiies ✨
Now before starting I feel like it’s important to point out that I used to draw a lot !

So I designed my sewing pattern, in this case, a potato shape with triangles and a rounded butt for the back, and also patterns for additional shapes (nose, ear, pupil and eye).
Those little shapes I cut in a sheet of felt that I previously fused some adhesive web to with an iron (following the adhesive’s instructions)

As for fabric, I used tie-dye shirts. Since I dyed them myself, I made them symmetrical so I like to look out for that in the dye pattern

Cut your fabric put on the face together, stick the shapes to it with an iron

Embroider whiskers and mouth to your face, sew the whole thing (don’t forget to leave a hole to fill them up !)

Then fill them up and sew the hole you left for filling. And tada ✨
You’ve got yourself a whole litter of kitties !
(Now, I like to overdo, so I sew one of my custom label on the back, and a tag with an eyelet at the top to hang them.)
Anyway, I am selling those here.
I am very aware of their wonkiness and imperfections, but they will only get better with time 😌❤️

Oh, I wasn’t expecting my last post to meet such craze! Let me make a more detailed one:

So the idea is to find leaves that are big enough to cut a 5x5cm square in it, but also that are *flat* enough that they hold in place (I didn’t use pins or clips)

Then you want to use a zigzag stitch, large enough that it will go through a good chunk of the leaf. You technically can have them not overlap like I did, but the edges move a lot (as they wrinkle and fold)

In the end, I trimmed the edges to have a « perfect » « square », punched two holes in it and wrapped it around the tree that the leaves came from. Some kind of *thank you* gift for those beautiful patterns :)
What’s next?
Next fall, I’d like to find more colorful leaves, with intricate pattern. I thought of cutting the « veins » in different angles, they look like arrows, i think there is something beautiful to be made with that. I’d like to see it age now, and at some point maybe give it a coat of resin just to keep the colors fresh and the structure less fragile. I think it would look absolutely stunning as a lampshade ❤️
Have fun sewing leaves 🍁 ✨

I wanted to see if *technically* you could sew some leaves and…

I made a little patchwork napkin for the tree :)
(Now I wanna see how it ages !)
