my favorite thing about navigating fanfiction is finding a really good one and being all “oh boy this was good, I hope they have more!” and literally every other story they’ve ever written was for like Miami Vice

what farming items in mmorpgs has taught me: i used to think using ice trays to make ice cubes was free but after thinking about it i have to pay the electric bill to power the freezer so every moment that i’m not freezing new trays of ice cubes is a moment that i’m underutilizing the freezer and increasing the cost of ice cubes. i have to constantly swap out ice trays for new ice cubes on an hourly rotation on a 24 hour basis or else i won’t produce the maximum amount of ice cubes possible and will underutilize the full potential of my electric bill. i need to stop using all other appliances and utilities in my home to make more ice cubes

Got reminded again of my old coworker who was a massive misogynist but also trans inclusive. Told me he believed trans women are indeed women because "only women would be stupid enough to want to be women"
I wonder what he's doing now

Season 4 Yami Yugi is a better man than me because if someone ripped up what I thought was a card containing my best friends soul, I would have plunged the whole field into a shadow game and the game would be called "how long can you last while I beat you with my duel disk".

i was drafting a post that said “a single boba tea can replace up to two meals if you are pure of heart” and the reason i didn’t post it is because as i was typing those words i got so dizzy i felt like i was being abducted by aliens

Edit: The name of the AU is "Pendant" finally managed to execute it!
I like YGO!S0 but I also YGO!DM so in the end I mixed them up and after reading fics about season 0. I can't help but to make my own interpretation by mixing them up. (With taking inspiration from reading fanfics..)
Maybe I'll make a series about this? Who knows, I love puzzleshipping and i like the atmosphere from season 0 where they are all mentally nuts. I just like the idea of it.

art theft isnt what it used to be. now you can just right click save. you used to have to break into a museum. there were lasers and stuff. you don't even have to have a grappling hook anymore.

(wow i forgot about this lol)
OKAY so the dungeon is basically just a giant pyramid and the furthest people have gotten is roughly 1/4 of the way down, no one has ever made it to the very "top" of the pyramid because of the crazy mage that lurks further down, dressed as a pharaoh. People just call him "The Pharaoh" because of that.
Marik and Yami Marik (called Kek) are human twins, though they were subdwellers for most of their life, and Ryou and Bakura are elven twins. Isis and Rishid are also human subdwellers. Isis is a priestess, Rishid is a fighter, Marik is the locksmith, Kek is their swordsman, Ryou is the mage, and Bakura is their ....mage? fighter? priest? walking lexicon? The Ishtars aren't sure about him as he does a LOT but Ryou is cagey about it so they don't press.
So the conspireshipping gang + fam are making their way through the dungeon. They're actually at nearly the middle, the furthest anyone has gotten, when they're attacked by The Winged Dragon of Ra. It's a vicious fight and Isis manages to make a portal for them to escape. However, Kek ends up staying behind to distract Ra and Ryou, who was fighting over getting in the portal, is the only one who sees Kek get eaten.
Once safely topside, Marik insists they go back for his brother. Isis and Rishid, while feeling guilty about it, really don't want to because Kek is awful. Bakura is also not wanting to go back but when Ryou agrees with Marik, he relents. Isis and Rishid say that Marik should be careful and stomp off.
So back they go. And immediately realize they lost all their money and items in the dungeon, so they have nothing. They can't go into the dungeon empty-handed, which sparks an argument between Marik and Bakura, when someone comes running by, fleeing a monster. Bakura kills the thing, some weird mushroom, and proudly says they can eat this. Marik is disgusted, Ryou is intrigued, and Bakura points out it's mushroom therefore it's technically vegitarian so Marik shouldn't bitch. That wasn't his issue but go off Bakura.
They don't know how to cook it right or have seasonings, so they end up with an undercooked mushroom monster in hot water that makes Ryou throw up (Marik refuses to touch it).
"Of course it tastes bad, it needs at least an onion and to cook for at least one hour."
And that's how they meet Akefia, some weird half-dwarf who's wearing a bright red coat and a dirty shendyt, really keep with the egyptian theme of the place. He cooks it properly for them and it's so good. They learn that he's technically a raider, someone who explores the dungeon for treasure, and he's back up here to resupply. Ryou asks if he wants to travel with them further into the dungeon, since there might be more gold, and after some thought, Akefia agrees. Marik hates this since he doesn't know the guy and Bakura doesn't care as usual.
So they have their adventure all the way down, encountering danger and learning that Akefia doesn't raid the dungeon, he lives in it because his entire villiage got trapped in here as a child and let's just say it was a really bad time.
Akefia is suspicious of Bakura, who he comments doesn't look like any elf he's ever seen. Ryou looks like an elf but there's something off about Bakura. Very off. He never takes off the black cloak he's wearing, which goes all the way to the floor and has long sleeves that cover his hands. And he doesn't eat much. Or seems to sleep. And his eyes glow in the dark, okay, are you two NOT seeing that???? Marik has grown too used to it to question and Ryou is his brother so of course there's nothing wrong here.
They get to see just what's wrong with him when they have an encounter with The Pharaoh (Atem of course), who looks like so much like someone they know it almost gives them whiplash (Yugi). They never saw him last time and now he's here, ready to punish the thieves who dare trespass in his tomb.
The Pharaoh attacks only for Bakura to rush forward, ditching the cloak to reveal what's underneath. His arms and legs have black scales ,and there's a tail and wings he somehow hid? He's basically Zorkura. It surprises The Pharaoh enough to give them time to escape and the confrontation that follows is eye-opening.
Bakura and Ryou aren't twins. Bakura is a demon Ryou summoned when he was a child, lonely and desperate for a friend. Any friend. He's bound to Ryou and will do anything to make sure Ryou is always alive at the cost of his life, because if he dies Ryou can just summon him again and Ryou needs to be alive for that. Ryou also confesses that he saw Kek die, something Marik was pretending likely hadn't happened already or did in a way they can revive him, and he was eaten. However, Ryou says he can bring him back from that as long as they can get him out of Ra's stomach.
"It takes a few weeks in its inactive state to digest food, and no one's ever gotten that far, so at the worst it'll be some dissolved skin-"
"Ryou please shut the fuck up."
He's still insisting he can do it, he did summon a literal demon as a child, and yes both are dark magic, but Kek is their friend/brother/lover they NEED to get him back. Akefia is suddenly very interested in the lover part but is ignored as Marik thinks.
Isis would kill him she knew he took part in this and Ryou would be put to death if anyone found out about the dark magic and Bakura would be killed with prejudice and despite his personality Kek is his brother who loves him dearly and Marik loves him just as much and
Marik agrees.
Akefia also agrees because killing Ra plus seeing dark magic in action seems like fun. Do you think they can eat Ra once they kill it? It's a lot like a giant bird.
(continue later)

When I was a kid, I thought those pillars went down to the sea floor.
In reality, they usually go down to some large submerged floats.
