Sometimes I feel like half of writing is the actual plot and story structure and all that and the other half is staring at the word document going "I need a word for an unpleasant and unplanned meeting with someone... but without using run-in, saw, or encounter since I use all of those in the next few paragraphs... words for... meetings... google, show me synonyms for word encounter... none of these... maybe... shoot, no, I used that one too... maybe... no, that one is too weak... a WORD for the MEETING......"

Tip: Make funny joke doodles for your friends.Think of something really funny? Hilarious joke in chat? Draw it out quickly with whatever level of art skill you have. Blobs, stick figures, wobbly little guys, doesn't matter. Just something quick and low pressure to be silly. Show it to your friends to make them laugh! Friend has a cool OC? Draw them! Even if you can't do the design justice, they'll be thrilled! Getting a gift for someone? Include a silly little doodle on the card or tag or packaging. It will make them smile.

This is the positive reinforcement you need in order to get started. This is what makes learning art fun. This is what turns "I don't draw because it never comes out right" into "I love making silly little things for my pals. Art is fun, I want to make more!"

I would, in fact, argue that this is what art is for. Even the most technically skilled perfect piece of art is empty if the artist didn't enjoy making it and no one felt anything viewing it. A funny little comic drawn with stick figures is far more valuable, if it brings joy to you or the people around you.

Contrary to popular belief the biggest beginner's roadblock to art isn't even technical skill it's frustration tolerance, especially in the age of social media. It hurts and the frustration is endless but you must build the frustration tolerance equivalent to a roach's capacity to survive a nuclear explosion. That's how you build on the technical skill. Throw that "won't even start because I'm afraid it won't be perfect" shit out the window. Just do it. Just start. Good luck.

Qwille is so powerful. I managed 3 and a half months of that kind of focus and the fires of hyperfixation burned me to a crisp in that time. Here Qwille is still going full speed... I am in awe.

GitM has brought so many people such joy especially me it brings me JOY thank you. Please take care of yourself. Jester safely. The fandom appreciates you and your hard work.

Soon your fic will be the longest in the entire fandom. This makes me so happy. If any fic was going to be this absurdly long I cannot think of a better one than GitM. If this is just arc 1, I can't imagine how long the full fic will be. A word count to rival homestuck. Cheering you on!

Writing GITM has been so wild. I can't believe we're half a million words in with no sign of slowing let alone stopping. What the heck.
