The "AI Rots Your Brain" Study
"The Impact of Generative AI on Critical Thinking" is a study conducted by Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft Research Cambridge.
it has been widely reported on as "concluding that AI makes human cognition atrophied and unprepared" (404 media) or as "linking AI usage with a deterioration in critical-thinking skills" (New York Magazine).
is that true? what does the paper actually say, though? it's only 20 pages, so you can check for yourself. otherwise, read on.
the survey's methodology has been... misrepresented, to put it mildly. this paper did not measure actual thinking ability. it surveyed workers who used AI at work, asked questions like "do you usually trust AI outputs? how do you think about them critically? if you can't, what obstacles are stopping you?"
the paper aimed to answer two research questions:
When and how do knowledge workers perceive the enaction of critical thinking when using GenAI? When and why do knowledge workers perceive increased/decreased effort for critical thinking due to GenAI?
pages 14-16 of the study discuss the survey's findings, and what they mean for AI tools, workers, and critical thinking skills. i've summarized these conclusions, point by point, as follows.
confidence and knowledge 1) people who say they trust genAI to be truthful are likely to be the same people who say they exercise less critical thinking about AI outputs. (makes sense.) 2) people who say they have confidence in their work skills are likely to say they are critical of the AI's output, even if they perceive this critical look as requiring extra effort. 3) it's possible that fostering workers' expertise and confidence in their domains will increase their ability to think critically about AI outputs. 4) a worker being confident in their skills at a task is associated with the worker's ability to delegate and guide the task. 5) a worker being unconfident in their skills at a task can rely more on AI, which potentially lowers their critical engagement and independent problem-solving skills. 6) in a nutshell, workers knowledgeable at a task invest more effort in thinking critically while using AI for it; less knowledgeable workers invest less.
the researchers suggest: 7) empowering users to 1. develop their skills, 2. develop a balanced relationship with the AI where it's not either the user or the AI calling all the shots. 8) adding feedback mechanisms to AI tools that help users gauge reliability of AI outputs, so they can know when to trust and when to question. 9) that AI tools let users customize and refine how the output is made, how much AI assistance is provided, depending on confidence and task complexity.
to do this, they see several approaches. potential approach 1: 10) AI tools could underline opportunities for critical thinking, especially for tasks the worker finds unimportant or secondary. 11) for example, AI tools could have systems to proactively interrupt the user and highlight a situation where it may be overlooked that critical thinking is needed. 12) another approach is to allow the user to request critical thinking assistance when they consciously need it.
potential approach 2: 13) increase the motivation to use critical thinking. workers use it less when they think it's not their job, and use it more when aiming to develop their skills. 14) therefore, AI tools could encourage critical thinking thtrough the lens of skill development and professional growth, not arbitrary and sometimes-irrelevant "audits".
potential approach 3: 15) enhance the ability to think critically. workers often refrain from thinking critically when they don't have the skills to fact-check or improve AI's responses. 16) this means learning opportunities: AI providing explanations for its reasoning, suggesting ways the users should refine their knowledge, or offering guided critiques. 17) the AI could help the worker develop specific skills: how to analyze arguments or cross-reference facts against sources. (see: AI as partner in skill development.)
so how is AI impacting critical thinking, specifically? 18) usually critical thinking involves analysis, synthesis and evaluation. using AI tools changes what tasks a worker performs to fulfill these goals. 19) when recalling and understanding, the worker focuses less on gathering information and more verifying it. (less need to find info, more need to verify it.) 20) when applying information, the worker focuses less on solving a problem and more on integrating the AI's solution. ("is this relevant? what parts should i tweak?") 21) when analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating, the worker focuses less on executing the task and more on supervising the task. ("stewardship" more than "collaboration".)
so, to think critically, workers that use AI should be trained: 22) on how to verify information, integrate outputs, and guide the task. 23) on cross-referencing with sources, assessing if AI output is relevant or applicable, and refining their use of AI processes. 24) on maintaining foundational problem-solving and information-gathering skills so they aren't overly reliant on AI.
the researchers point out some limitations of their study: 25) surveyed workers sometimes confuse "the task now takes me less effort" and "i spend less effort on critical thinking". (hey, we don't assess our critical thinking often.) 26) surveyed workers might think less critically when they get an AI output that matches what they expected. that could expect the aforementioned confusion. 27) asking workers to report their confidence at a task produces subjective responses. 28) the survey was conducted solely in english, and aimed only at fluent english speakers. 29) the survey sample biases towards younger, technologically skilled workers who use AI tools at work at least once a week. older and less techy people are underrepresented. 30) this is just a baseline study and long term impact has to be tracked.
i now encourage you to draw your own conclusions.

Tips for starting to read in the language you're studying. While this might seem critical in a language like japanese, it also helps if studying a language you think you can sound out.
So at some point, yes, you will read without technology or tools to help you. In fact if you feel like it, you can always do some practice with no tools/aids immediately. You can always mix using tools to help, along with sometimes using no tools to see how you handle the skill on your own. So these suggestions are just tips for when you DO use tools.
1. As a beginner, if you're learning new words: listen to audio of word pronunciations! At least sometimes! Whether that means studying on an app like anki with flashcards that include audio, or hearing new words PRONOUNCED in a show you watch, or listening to an audiobook While you read a Graded Reader with new words. Or even just clicking the audio icon on Google Translate when you look up a new word or phrase, so you hear audio for how the new thing is pronounced. Get SOME audio exposure to how new words sound.
It will help you develop a listening recognition of the word, instead of only a reading recognition.
(You can see how that's important in japanese where the same kanji in 2 words may be pronounced totally different, but it also helps with basic things like getting used to the sounds of the specific language and what spelled syllables are pronounced like in different words. Or in say chinese's case it lets you notice how tone pairs sound in different combinations, how chinese chi or ci or zi sounds different, how those pinyin spellings are pronounced different in chinese versus how another language you know would pronounce those pinyin letters etc).
It will also, critically, help you develop a mental impression of how the language sounds. It seems unimportant as a beginner to even be thinking about that - and you don't need to think about it. But do include audio exposure to new words for a WHILE. It will build your ability to hear differences in sounds in the language, separate words you hear mentally, have a mental sound of the Rhythm of sentences, have a mental sound you'll eventually be relying on for your own pronunciation when speaking and your ability to parse listening to people speaking.
(I slacked on listening to french as I learned, the first year, and so my mental voice for french was... mostly english sounding, which as you may guess meant while my reading gradually improved... my listening skills were zero because I had nothing even remotely useful in my mind for french pronunciation. So I couldn't recognize any words I heard! I spent a few months at that point, a year in, listening to french pronunciations of words and podcasts for learners, and that alone just helped SO MUCH in forming a mental sound for "if I see X syllable in french it sounds in the ballpark of Y" so when I said words they were at least somewhat understandable in french, and when I read words to learn more I developed a decent enough guess of how those words sounded that I'd recognize them later in listening. When I started learning chinese, I learned my lesson lol, and I listened to all new words at least once in Google Translate or any app with an audio button - like Memrise, Anki, Pleco, Google Translate, etc. I was able to watch cdramas, and guess which pinyin to type for what I heard - like say zi versus ci, or zhi versus chi - within a few months. The ability to distinguish those sounds, and to notice how they do Not sound like english zi or ci, was very helpful. In japanese, including listening to new words can help you learn kanji readings WITH words, and like any language how the japanese sounds are unique versus other language mental sounds in your head. If you say study two romance languages like french or spanish, then putting even just a few months of initial time getting used to pronunciation differences helps you build mental sound models SPECIFIC to the languages. So you don't get spanish or french confused after a few months, because you can notice how different they sound - when maybe initially you could not.)
2. As a beginner, when you read, use audio as you read at least sometimes. Simple ways you can do this: read digitally and use a tool to hear the pronunciation of new words (in Pleco or Readibu this is clicking a word and the speaker icon, in Google Translate its pasting in the new word and pressing the speaker icon, in a web browser its right clicking then use Translate then use the Translate pop-up's speaker icon etc). You can use TTS (text to speech) such as on a web page (Microsoft Edge Read Aloud TTS is quite nice), or in an app like Pleco or Kindle (or any ebook Reader app should have TTS read aloud option). You can watch shows with audio and subtitles in the language you're learning (so you practice reading the subtitles as you hear the audio). You can use a transcript with a podcast, or an audiobook with a novel (or a Graded Reader and TTS or audiobook). You don't always need to listen when you read. But do it at least once in a while. So that you keep learning the pronunciation of new words. You'll want to do this at Least until you have a basic mental sound of the language, and if it's a language like chinese ot japanese you may want to Keep getting audio-text exposure every so often to ensure in chinese you learn correct pronunciations with new words (and tones), and in japanese you learn correct pronunciations of new words. This doesn't have to mean novels either, it can be as simple as shows with same language subtitles once in a while, or a transcript (or auto generated captions) for some youtube video or podcast once in a while. Even in languages like english or french or russian, spelling doesn't always equal actual pronunciation, so even once you have a basic mental sound model you'll want to keep getting some text-audio exposure if you want to build up the skill.

🛼Strange Motivation—Timeless Tarot Guidance for 🐞🐍⛲🐝ALL SIGNS
With the elements/signs of the zodiac, you can freely use your Sun, Moon, Rising/Ascendant, or even your Stellium (❗️)
[Back to Masterlist]
People are motivated by all kinds of unique motives. Some are motivated by things others would perceive as shallow or wrong or unimportant; but who are they to judge, really, when each of us, our own lives are afflicted with the ebb and flow of strange desires?
We are all free beings who can do whatever the fuck we want. We’re always learning and growing anyway. As you are free to pursue your own dream Life, so others are free to pursue theirs in their own ways. The more you mature carrying this mantra, the more you are at peace with all people’s strange motivations.
If you see something you don’t like or can’t agree with? You’ll know intuitively to remove yourself from the situation/environment. You have the freedom to ignore things that aren’t in alignment with your own value system without being aggressive. Live and let live; everyone’s really just trying to create a Life they can love💖
☆♪°・. energetic intro ☆♪°・.
Punk Astro Guidance is a timeless☘️reading, but this one has the backup energies of both New Moon in Gemini in May and Solar Eclipse in Scorpio in October, because, why not? The season tells me so. You know Gemini is a creative whacko~🤡and Scorpio is a psychopath who tends to be drawn to all kinds of strange and taboo interests~👹
Don’t rely too much on logic; just trust in your magick!
Strange Motivation for 🐞Fire Signs – Red Magus (Edward Kelly)
Your natural gifts, depending how you use them and who sees you use them, can be either a curse or a blessing. Original talents that are far and between get misunderstood a lot; some people may even be frightened by your abilities. But if you devote your Art to the improvement of your environment, sooner than later everybody is gonna kneel and thank you.
🐏Aries – Ace of Wands
A fitting card for Aries. You are a powerhouse of originality. Your passion alone moves the world and alters it for the better. If only you would devote yourself to finishing whatever the fuck you’ve started, hon🤡But hey, you’re talented at many things, so as long as you remain devoted to pursuing your honest passions and developing your skills around those core passions, there’s no way you’re not making it big in the world. Because you’re passionate and earnest, one way or another, a way is always gonna be available for your access. You’re supported and protected by your Higher Self like that.
Given the backup energy of this reading, Gemini and Scorpio; this is an interesting blend of being chill about shit whilst at the same time, passionately and seriously devoted to your personal interests. What motivates you in this world? What keeps you going? Honestly, being Aries means you can only follow an idea or inspiration that is faithful to the song of your Soul. Following the crowd is only gonna send you to misery. You don’t follow the trend, fuck that, you ARE the trend! You were born into this world with powerful magic and manifesting abilities, you just need to direct those powers wisely. Invest only in things that matter to your Soul. It’s something personal. You don’t follow nobody.
Like a pied piper, you’re the leader of a crowd. But where are you leading your people? Hopefully you study enough and become so skilful that nobody’s manipulative temptations get to corrupt the purity of your intentions. You’re meant to be of service to your community by rising from ashes and waking up to your own personal power. Grab your CROWN; you’re going places~
🦁Leo – King of Pentacles Rx
Of all the Fire signs, Leo is the most logical thanks to its fixed quality. But this card in reverse is saying that sometimes trying to be too logical can make you a bully instead. And you’re being a bully, in a sense, mostly to yourself. You can be really hard on yourself and then that behaviour bleeds into your communication style with others. Of course, we all know you expect to be respected, to be seen as someone strong and capable, so that others wouldn’t mess with you. You demand to be respected, but in maintaining that outlook, you could be inviting strife and drama instead.
That said, when you find this reading, try to sit back with a nice cup of tea or something, and then tap into the more intuitive side of your being. Ask yourself what you essentially wish to see manifest in your reality right now. What is causing you stress and distress? You may find that a lot of the critical opinions and cruel desires in your mind were just implanted by your environment. Because you grew up with brash people, you thought you needed to also be like that so as not to lose. Now is the time to start wanting a different reality altogether.
You’re currently very supported in dreaming a better reality. Remember: all kinds of change in the physical begin with dreams and visions. Carefully select your thoughts and be determined to delete harsh thoughts that aren’t serving a compassionate reality for yourself. Maintain that vision and protect your manifestation. Anything or anybody that causes tension or slows down your dreams, they can go. Or, you can decide to ignore and move the fuck on. You’ve got this!
🎠Sagittarius – King of Wands
OMG this is so funny; the first thing that comes to mind is: have you ever thought of being a mentor to somebody? Well, Sagittarius is indeed the philosopher and teacher of the zodiac, but OK, maybe not everybody wants to be a teacher or a university professor. In that case, this is just saying that you may want to be under the mentorship of someone else. Maybe you have a role model online and want to emulate their lifestyle or communication style or anything else? That can do, too. You can begin with copying, emulating someone you admire until you develop your own colour. That’s how a lot of people achieve greatness, so there’s no shame in that. Why else would we have celebs to look up to?
As you turn your Life for the better, so you become a beacon of Light for another. And then, without meaning to, you become a celeb for other people who want to emulate you. Those who see your light and want to shine like that. You achieve all of this by sheer passion, you know. There’s something extremely magical about earnest passions, you know? Just by being honestly yourself you’re serving your community.
Other than that, you may also want to pursue higher education. I’m seeing it’s crucial if you wish to be an expert at something important to you. Law if you want to defend justice and protect the innocent, for example. I feel like whatever you’re focusing on right now, you need higher knowledge and expertise to be able to deliver your point of view in a respectable manner.

Strange Motivation for 🐍Earth Signs – Silver Geographer (Francis Drake)
Earth signs are known to be quite straightforward when it comes to using logic, but not necessarily so when conveying feelings. As such, you may, from time to time, lack the ability to wholeheartedly listen to what someone else is trying to communicate to you, especially when feelings are at the heart of the matter. Thing is… as you avoid the discomfort of hearing people talk about feelings, you may just lose a chance to build better network LMAO
🐂Taurus – 5 of Wands
Amongst peeps who are versed in astrology, Taurus doesn’t always have a likeable reputation due to its unwillingness to be flexible. However, I hope you are aware of this yourself that you’re blessed with so much creativity and a kickass sense of humour. Taurus rules the throat and the 2nd House, what do you think that’s all about? Communication, original expression, wealth amassment, and the limelight. Taurus consciousness has the desire to be seen and applauded for all that it has to offer the world. The word ‘entertainment’ comes to mind.
You like to entertain people and just make friends—at your own pace. Yeah, sometimes you fall into arguments with people, which may have made you think being around people is draining. But from a higher perspective, that usually happens when you refuse to look at another person’s reason, priority, or point of view. That’s selfish on your end, if you have the humility to admit that.
The main focus of this reading for you, right now, is the motivation to learn to be gentler, more flexible with the way you communicate with other people. Think about this from a more intuitive perspective: can you imagine your immediate reality becoming that much more pleasant and friendly if everyone dropped their defences and started to communicate more honestly? More than you realise, a lot of people actually want to be genuine friends with you; you’ve just got to develop humble self-reproach so you stop thinking people are out here trying to personally attack you.
🧘🏻♀️Virgo – Ace of Cups
You’ve been praying for a renewal to take place in your Life, especially in the emotional realm. It seems you’ve been dealing with harsh people who aren’t exactly patient themselves, so you get really tired of dealing with them. Although you may want to cut all ties with them, there’s currently a message to be a bit more patient right now. With yourself, hon. Endure the situation and rise above petty arguments; maintain your cool without sacrificing your integrity, or dignity. In due time, you will be glad you persisted. Why?
Because during that time you endured the bullshit situation, you grew up. You become emotionally stronger and now you’re unshakable. Any kind of bullshit behaviour thrown your way, you’ll know how to handle with grace. That’s literally the strongest mental capacity indeed! You’re currently in the midst of creating a good future for yourself.
Listen and observe how others behave. You don’t have to resort to arguments; let them say what they need to say, and keep the records, and one day you’ll have plenty of materials to use against those who have oppressed you. Huehuehuehue~ Patience is key; cuz Karma hits like a bitch.
🐐Capricorn – Queen of Cups Rx
Some aspects of your Life need to undergo massive transformations, expressly and expediently! Why? Because the cosmic energies of Love are trying to enter your Life! It’s coming real fast, so you’d better make space for it. Like… imagine you’re buying a grand piano, it’s arriving in two days, now you’ve got to rearrange your living room or library to welcome this darn huge piano, aight? You may even need to throw away useless stuff to make space for this precious new item. You get the picture🪗
But, if you have an emotional attachment to whatever should belong in the garbage, you’re gonna have a difficult transition. That said, I’d like to remind you that whatever the Universe is trying to remove from your reality is something (or someone) vibrating lower than pure Love with a capital L. Cosmic energies of Love, patience, grace and kindness are trying to enter your Life. That means a new Reality that respects your divinity is dawning. So don’t be afraid of letting go your emotional attachments to garbage😬
Your cup still has some stale wine in it. Trust me you don’t wanna finish that just because you think you have to. Have the courage to throw that away and refill your cup with fresh, better quality wine, and savour the fact you’ve done marvellously well to deserve that new wine. Be motivated by Love, my friend. If there is Love, respect comes naturally.

Strange Motivation for ⛲Air Signs – Gold Astronomer (John Dee)
Being all about intelligence, Air signs could develop the strange motivation to brave all kinds of challenges. It excites you when you can prove yourself capable of resolving complex issues. But when you are faced with roadblocks at every turn, maybe those obstacles are there to remind you that this isn’t your Divine Path…? Be careful your drive and motivation aren’t dictated by what you think you should pursue based on other people’s standards or expectations.
👯Gemini – Ace of Swords Rx
You’re usually someone who comes up with creative, brilliant ideas on a heartbeat. But right now you’re lacking inspiration. Perhaps because the old priorities aren’t exciting anymore. You feel like Life has been pretty much the same; you feel like a hamster running on a wheel; and your space is so small it’s literally suffocating you. Your brain is both tired and bored. You need new hobbies and new learning grounds—nope, not new obsessions; that sort of thing doesn’t last, you know.
If you’re only beginning to ponder what sort of exciting intellectual pursuit you should devote yourself to, first, be in silence. I know not everybody is into this thing called meditation, but you’ve got to try this silencing of the mind so you hear your heart. Meditation doesn’t have to look like what you think it looks like; as long as you’re able to calm your nerves down and breathe slowly, you’re on the right track.
The thing here is that you’re often into new hobbies that don’t last because you’re pursuing something shallow. You could be the most Gemini person on Earth but I’m sure even you have some depth to you. You ain’t just your Gemini, right? What about other things like your Moon? North Node? 5th and 10th Houses? Surely those placements can tell you what creative endeavour you could potentially enjoy for a long, long time~?
⚖️Libra – 6 of Wands
Have you ever truly pondered what it means to be of service to the world? Narrow minded people might say, ‘Who the fuck wants to be a servant?’ but those are only the people who don’t understand that they themselves are part of a bigger community. As one person serves a community, fulfils their role in society, and so on everybody does the same, so society functions well. By utilising skills and expertise that have been honed by dedicated hard work and study, everybody essentially becomes a hero to their own community. But all of this is mere philosophy because at the end of the day, most people are too stupid and too selfish to know how to maintain a good society.
But how about you personally? Are you ever motivated by this altruistic philosophy? Do you envision a better world where people are a tad less stupid and self-destructive? If you resonate with this reading, you’re currently being awakened by your team of Spirit Guides to realise this vision. They’re reconnecting you to the more spiritual aspect of your drive for success. Being spiritual doesn’t necessarily mean you have to like crystals and herbal teas, OK?
A lot of inherently spiritual people are also in the business sector of society; changing the way businesses are done in a more humane and respectful way. Also in the entertainment industry, also in IT. You get the picture. So anyway, you were born into this world carrying seeds of manifestation that are potentially world-changing. Do you even remember what your mission is?
🏺Aquarius – 9 of Cups
Wow, look at all of that light in both your cards. The magician oracle (Gold Astronomer) also depicts a shooting star. It’s like saying, as an Aquarius, you’re a genius who’s supposedly always inspired by your divine connection to the Cosmos. A lot of people fail to mention that Aquarius is also an extremely spiritual sign—I mean, come on, you’re literally second to last in the zodiac wheel. You’re just as spiritual as Pisces; but your personal expression of spirituality is just different (very Aquarian quality) from most other signs. These words, ‘don’t rely too much on logic, just trust in your magick’ are totally for you in this reading.
If you decide to be guided (your path lighted) more by your intuition, you’ll be so much more content emotionally. You will feel a sense of independence that isn’t necessarily aloof or detached from the rest of your community. I know that feels important to you because no matter how icy cold you can be, you do care about people. You have this innate desire to be there as a source of hope/inspiration for others. You want to be a Light for others. But people either drain you or bore you to death because they’re too pathetic in many ways LMAO
So, if this truly matters to you, I’d say you need to be motivated by emotional independence. Kinda sounds weird. But this is essentially about cultivating a caring heart, a tender compassion for others whilst not being personally attached to them. If you don’t do this, Aquarius tends to end up being aloof or detached after feeling disappointed in other people’s behaviours. In the long run, that ain’t very healthy~

Strange Motivation for 🐝Water Signs – Silver Alchemist (Ramon Llull)
If you know the story of Ramon Llull, it’s quite fascinating how his penchant for studying occult knowledge made him open for persecution; however, due to his saintly demeanour, he was spared the Church’s bloodthirsty attention😏Water signs tend to observe too acutely the unfairness revolving this world, and this often leads to a breakage of the heart… or the character. Those who can’t afford turning cruel are heartbroken constantly; those who can’t afford a constant heartbreak are turned to cruelty.
🦀Cancer – 3 of Pentacles Rx
It’s often been said that Cancer peeps need to constantly shield themselves from the negativity of other people. It’s especially true if Cancer is your Ascendant. I guess it’s because Cancer is the baby of the Water signs; it explains why this consciousness gets easily confused in the stream of other people’s negative ideas. Humans are social beings as they say, but if a Cancer-dominant person doesn’t set healthy and respectful boundaries, they may just get walked all over by other strong-willed characters. Being strong-willed doesn’t always translate into kindly behaviours, you know. A lot of negative-minded people are brash! And they can be extremely determined in the negative way they view the world.
You, as a Cancer-dominant person, must be proactive in shielding yourself from such influences. A lot of Cancers aren’t aware of this of themselves and they become lost in the stream of the world’s negativity and bitterness, and then, somehow someway, we all know Cancer Sun peeps as the most hated people due to their sharp tongue and unfiltered nastiness. Well Cancer, are you sure that nastiness is originally yours or what?
If you aren’t conscious of your surroundings, the environment you’re always in, you’re just gonna be a jackass without realising other people made you that way. Cancer is the mother of the zodiac; don’t be so weak that other people’s company turns you into a monster instead.
🦂Scorpio – 4 of Cups Rx
You’ve been deep in thoughts and dreams, but no matter how colourful the dreams appear to be, you feel bored and stuck in your everyday reality. It is because you’re currently being directed by your Higher Self to look to new avenues of creativity. This may mean changing jobs or starting a passion project you’ve been wanting to do. The time is now if you really wish to change your circumstances for the better. The longer you endure the stagnation the deeper you fall into depression. So don’t allow that to happen; it might be a real struggle to get out of that phase later. Have the courage to weather changes and challenges NOW.
Because, if you’re worried about failure or the possibility to seeing yourself having taken the wrong step… you’re wrong. There is a lot of abundance in store for you if you make the change or take the challenge. Abundance may not necessarily mean a rainfall of money immediately, but it can mean a gradual sense of liberation and calm. Being able to breathe fresh air after swimming all the way up from the dark bottom of the ocean.
Whatever you choose to do from this moment onwards, as long as you remain courageous and positive of mind, real gladness and happiness is yours for the taking. If you struggle a lot with negative expectations or fears, and you worry such thoughts might ruin your manifestation, I’d suggest subliminals for a positive self-concept. Your material abundance may be coming in slowly, but as long as you’re able to breathe calmly, that’s a good start~
🎏Pisces – 7 of Wands
Pisces or 12th House dominant people are usually spiritual even if each person’s spirituality looks different from what’s traditionally viewed as spiritual. There is a need to always be in communion with your Higher Self, team of Spirit Guides, or any other nature elementals, which may be considered gods or deities in many cultures, to maintain your sense of direction in this Human world. Whew, that’s a long ass sentence but please grasp that. You have a constant need to immerse yourself in the unseen forces that govern this Planet’s events as well as the lives of the creatures living on it. When you’re out of touch, you become confused and overwhelmed by all these things called ‘duty’.
In the Human world, people abide by so many restrictive rules and are expected to fulfil duties that aren’t even paying respect to the sheer dignity of being alive. Psst paying for housing and electricity is just one blatant example of this disrespect for people’s most fundamental dignity. If you allow yourself to be so absorbed into the rigidity of rules and regulations imposed by those psychopaths that govern Human societies, sooner than later you’ll turn yourself into a cold, detached and aloof puppet incapable of sparing kindness for other people.
Then you just become a tool for maintaining the whole world’s ugly status quo. Know that a lot of the world’s psychos and serial killers tend to have strong Aquarius and Pisces placements, hon. Pisces is the world’s most powerful healer and energy transmuter, but if you lose yourself to the Matrix, you’re done. Please just go back to God and renew your contract.

I'm curious how exactly all this miscommunication will lead to desaster (and how that will look like), but my real fear lies in how these problems will be solved. Unlike in previous seasons the status-quo will have to change (S4 deals with the changes made at the end of S3, so S5 will have even more changes due to identities?). Do you trust the writers to come up with "satisfying" solutions? I fear the solutions might feel cheap or easy, after all it's easier to build tension than to solve it.
A big factor in the quality of the resolution is what criteria you think is required for a good and satisfying resolution. Like, a big, misguided section of this fandom is not satisfied with the show's message of de-escalation in conflict situations instead of ripping your opponent to shreds and the valuing of personal growth over punishment when someone makes a mistake. These fans are misguided because they didn't twig that this series values "applicable lesson" over "it would be cathartic" with how 'Rogercop' played out.
If you think a "good" resolution means that it's cathartic and satisfies every gripe you might have had about the characters and their situation, then I'm going to say: "No, I don't think the crew can do that. Not because they lack the skill, but because that's not what the show is about."
If you think a "good" resolution means that the characters learn to be better versions of themselves and that the resolution will be applicable to the real-life issues of the kids watching and teaches that you don't need to be perfect to get forgiveness, then I'm going to say: "Yeah, it’s gonna be pretty satisfying!"
And the thing is that realistic (as in, the audience can translate them to real life situations) solutions are very simple, even if not really "easy". Like, Marinette just talking to people is a simple solution, but it's not easy for her because of her personal issues. Frankly, with episodes like 'Cat Blanc', the series seems to specifically be against easy solutions that don't involve personal improvement so, things like, Adrien happens to find out Marinette is Ladybug and asks her out, therefore Marinette doesn't have to confess, will go badly.
For example, I had that lengthy discussion with people over the idea that Ladybug getting Akumatized as the resolution to the Ladynoir conflict would skip a need for character development if Akumabug is ranty enough to spill everything she's been keeping from Cat Noir to him. This would be dramatic and maybe even cathartic to the audience to finally see her just go off, but it would be the easy solution to Marinette. Afterwards Cat Noir would know everything that was putting so much weight on Ladybug without Ladybug ever having to make the decision to be more upfront with Cat Noir first and it would skip the difficult conversation of her having kept so many things from him because he wouldn't want to be upset at an Akumatization victim. Similarly, a Cat Blanc Second Verse would also be too easy because, if Cat Blanc tells Ladybug how unimportant Cat Noir has been feeling, Adrien wouldn't have to bite the bullet and be frank with his partner. Those are important conversations they need to have and they won't get a do-over if it goes wrong because you can only reveal a secret once.
My best bet is that, at some point, the characters will just sit down to talk. A big theme in the season has been how Ladybug and Cat Noir don't just talk to each other anymore since Ladybug became the Guardian (just compare them to season two, when they would just drop everything else in order to have a conversation when they could). But how we get to that point is going to take some shaking up for our leads.

Hi, I’m from post 649288793015386112. I didn’t do a good job of elucidating the nuances surrounding my question. That’s my aim here. The deal is that I don’t “lack in judgement” in other areas of life. In other cognitive contexts I operate off of the framework that there is an optimal answer that can be derived by critical analysis whether it comes to which distinctions can be made, whether something is rooted coherently, or what have you. 1/8
I'm not going to copy the rest of your message because of the length. Your detailed explanation was helpful for giving me a better idea of what’s going through your mind.
If you are INTP, you should know that Ti-Si loop is a major development problem. You can conceptualize it as a closed system. It doesn't have any meaningful interaction with the external world and it isn't subject to any external forces. When a system is closed, what information moves through it? The only thing available is old information. Old info is input, reused, repurposed, recycled, regurgitated, and then output in worse condition than when it started. You try to jimmy and reconfigure what little you know, every which way, in hopes of finally discovering the solution to the problem that plagues you. The result? A recurring problem. Or worse case scenario, a recurring problem that becomes more severe over time.
When you make a mistake or meet a failure, a closed system can't learn from it. Why? Because a closed system can't get to the root of the problem. If you don't address the root cause, you can't come up with a good solution. To truly get to the root of a problem often requires a complete change in perspective, i.e., a massive structural change to the system itself. You subtly externalize the problem by believing that feelings/people are inexplicably difficult to understand when you should be asking yourself why the system that you use to understand the problem never outputs a successful solution. As you put it, you keep using T to solve F problems. It's nonsensical. Why would you use T to solve F problems when F problems are best solved by using F? I suppose the problem has now recurred enough times that you're finally reaching out to get a new perspective. That's a glimmer of progress.
If you are INTP, using F is risky because it's the inferior function. Thus, the remedy to Si loop is auxiliary Ne development (it is explained in the study guides, so read them). Ne development requires you to entertain NEW possibilities, gather NEW information, and learn NEW ways of looking at the situation. In your analytical process, you somehow always manage to convince yourself that you're trying a “new” method to tackle the problem, but it isn't really new. It's always the same T system in a bad wig. When Ne is poorly developed, you believe that you have the ability to entertain various possibilities, but you don't realize that your imagination is severely limited. In other words, the more immature Ne is, the more blind you are to new possibilities.
Most of the INTPs I've gotten close to have always been kind, helpful, and morally principled people. Sure, inferior Fe makes them quite slow to process information about feelings and social issues, but it doesn't ultimately stop them. They never use inferior Fe as an excuse to relinquish their social and moral responsibilities. You said: "I don’t know why people feel the way they do, and it really isn't an area of interest". It sounds like the real problem isn't inferior Fe but actually something more akin to willful ignorance.
"A person is commonly called willfully ignorant about a matter when he persistently ignores the topic despite its likely salience and even resists learning about it or assimilating facts that bear on it... Willful ignorance connects being ignorant of something with ignoring that thing. Ignoring involves a refusal of attention." (source: Understanding Ignorance: The Surprising Impact of What We Don't Know)
You basically say that emotional life and social life are unimportant or uninteresting to you. It is no wonder, then, that you know nothing about them. People don’t bother to learn when they don’t care. And yet you still (arrogantly) claim to know the general idea of how people's brains work when you really don't. It seems that you want to go through life only caring about the things that you choose to care about and ignoring all the things that you don't want to care about. This is called small-mindedness and it is what makes Ti-Si loop a huge obstacle to personal growth. And if you reach the point of being irrationally resentful about being “forced” to care about things you don’t want to care about, then Fe grip is not far off. If everyone was so small-minded, the world would be worse off. There would be no one like me willing to help out someone like you simply out of kindness.
I intend for my blog to be used by people who are fully ready, willing, and committed to change. Be honest. Are you really willing to change your mind? I don't offer people quick fixes. When it comes to self-help for psychological issues, if you want to learn and improve something, you must learn it for the right reasons. Otherwise, you just end up using bandaids that either don't really last or don't really solve anything. You've already cycled through "surface-level fixes" so many times. You give the impression that you fundamentally don't care about the thing that you're asking me about. You're only asking because it has come to bother you. That's not a real commitment to change.
To understand interpersonal relationships and navigate them successfully, you must: 1) understand emotional life and be committed to improving your own emotional intelligence, 2) be emotionally invested in the lives of others, and 3) have the moral capacity to see people as individuals, each deserving of special consideration (as opposed to just interchangeable objects). When you meet those criteria, you’ll have the right intention for learning. There are plenty of resources out there about improving social skills, including how to build relationships, and how to avoid relationship pitfalls. I’ve already written a lot about it and provided book suggestions for in depth learning. However, if you try to apply those ideas now, when your intention is merely for your own benefit, all the while keeping your closed T system intact, then you will have completely missed the point about what it means to be in a relationship.
To put it more bluntly: 1) If you don't want to pay attention to social interactions, then why would you expect them to go well for you? Do you think that socializing should just magically go well without any attention or effort from you? 2) If you don't care about emotional well-being, then why should anyone care about yours? Is it not hypocritical to expect people to be moral toward you when you treat them with little more than indifference?
When you don’t recognize that you exist in the social world, have an effect on the social world, and care about the social effects you produce, then you signal to people that you are nothing of note in the social world. And people treat you accordingly. You could change that at any time by choosing to care. Then the real learning can finally begin.

Hello, I really hope this isn't a bother, but I absolutely love your art and I was wondering if you had any advice for beginner artists? Thank you, if you find time for this!
hi!! no problem at all
i know literally everyone says this but the first thing is practice. even if its just a small doodle everyday, i think its important to just try to do a little something. it doesnt have to be perfect
draw inspiration from lots of different sources! ive had a couple of people ask me before how to pin down a “style” and honestly it comes with time. mines been developing for the last ten years or so, and u should take inspiration from as many places as possible. it shouldn’t be just limited to what kind of style you want to create, or envision yourself as creating, because it’ll just end up being a copy of whatever it is you’re looking at i’m not sure that makes sense lol so i’ll use my art as an example. ive been told a few times it has like disney vibes, which i can definitely see, but my biggest inspirations are things like impressionism and 19th century portraiture (think john singer sargent), 1950s magazine and fashion illustrations, earl oliver hurst, charles dana gibson, disney concept art and other artists who’s work ive seen across the internet. i have an art tag on my blog which i put art into that i like or feel inspired by
one of the biggest things that helped me is like...whenever i get super into a series, my biggest examples being inuyasha and dragon age, my art improves drastically because i’m drawing fan art constantly. if u look at my art between feb 2020 and today i think theres a big improvement. or i hope so anyway lmao
life drawing is important, even if your art is less realistic and more cartoonish or exaggerated, its good to get the basics down so u always have a good foundation to work with
i fell out of the habit a while ago but watching speedpaints on youtube is like a fun way to see how other people work. its always good to share ideas and work with friends if they are also artists
since art is so accessible now thanks to the internet its really easy to compare yourself to other people and feel down about your skills if you dont feel like you compare to other artists out there. this is definitely something i need to work on myself but age is unimportant and art isnt a competition, you should try not to see rivalries but inspiration
references!! references references!!! i guarantee anything u draw with a reference will look 100% better. on that note i have seen people claim that tracing isnt helpful but i think it can be. it can give you a basic idea of the shape of whatever it is your drawing. of course, dont trace other artists artwork lol
if you feel yourself getting frustrated with something, just put it down and give yourself a break. it will probably look better when you go back to it, because like most of the time, my art just looks weird to me because ive been staring at it for too long
i dont do this but i know i should... you should start with warm up sketches before launching yourself into a big project or anything. it just helps warm you up
i hope this helps a little, im sorry its not super coherent but its 6am lmfao

My first post
Hey all. This is my first time using this platform. I heard about it from Gary Vaynerchuk in his book Crush IT. I had never heard of this place before and I thinks it’s pretty cool so far, especially since I’m trying to start my own blog. If you are into books for self improvement or business check out my blog on blogger.com “10 Books For a Better You”. Check it out and let me know what you think. I value your opinions.
So real quick, a little about me, I come from a very modest upbringing in a middle American industry town. I have traveled all over the country before joining the Navy right out of high school. Since then I have traveled the world, met new people and learned a lot. I’ve been in the Navy now for 24 years. I’m a division commander (that’s basically a drill instructor) who motivates, coaches, teaches, and mentors fresh college students, developing them into newly minted Naval Officers or Junior Staff Corps Officers. I enjoy teaching and mentoring in the ways of leadership, management, and self betterment. It is said that leaders are readers and I have made it a goal to read 1 book per week. That is a challenge for me considering I’m a slow reader. But I haven’t let that stop me. As a matter of fact it has made me want to read more because of my curious nature. It also helps me be a better instructor when I know the subject. So, a lot of my content will be about the books that I’ve read and the lessons that I’ve learned, and hopefully I will inspire some of you to be successful. This journey of mine is an attempt at breaking free from the confines of a 9-5 J.O.B. and break out on my own as an entrepreneur. I’ll take y’all along with me and share the things that I have learned so hopefully, you can apply the same techniques and create your own bit of fortune.
On my journey I have read up on many successful business executives, influencers, and entrepreneurs to see how they made it. I was reading The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris, and he talked about having a good morning routine. This became a recurring theme with top performers, so I figured there must be something to it. I found some great books on morning routines to get me going. The 5 AM Club, The Miracle Morning, and The Compound Effect are all great books on the positive effects of a strong morning routine. Your morning routine sets the tone for your whole day and helps you get the most out of it. I can honestly say that I accomplish more with my morning before most people are even out of bed.
The 5 AM Club talks about the 20/20/20 principle, where you get up at 5 am and spend that first hour split into three 20 minute periods of “Move, Reflect, and Grow”. The first 20 minutes should be spent on some type of exercise (Move), the second 20 minutes is to reflect with either journaling or meditation. And, the last 20 minutes is to Grow your mind with a good non-fiction book about your interests to improve your skills and learn something. There is sooooo much more packed into this book, but if you take nothing else away from this book, that should be it. Now I know, some of you are cringing at the thought of getting up at 5 AM. It’s ok. It’s not that bad. Trust me.
The Miracle Morning takes a little different approach with the acronym S.A.V.E.R.S. which stands for Silence, Affirmations, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing (Journaling). I really like this one because it starts your day off with meditation. Meditation has become a big part of my life. It helps me to get my mind focused and primed for the day, and often times I find answers to questions I’ve had, simply pop into my head and I can bang out some new ideas. It’s really been transformational for me. I used to think it was a bunch of hippy hocus pocus junk, but when many of the top performers and millionaires do it, I figured there must be something to it. So, I gave it a shot. Now I do it every day without fail. The Navy is even teaching a form of mindfulness called Warrior Toughness and has even integrated it into our routines. You can imagine my delight when they asked me to teach it to the new Officers.
The Compound Effect gets a little more in depth on the morning routine to include gratitude, reviewing your goals, and making your to-do list to get the most out of your day, week, month, and life. There is more great content in this book than just the morning routine, and is great for making major impacts on your life just by changing the way you look at things. This one is definitely a must read.
I have adopted a combination of the three methods to form my own morning routine and I block my time so nothing else gets in the way of making moves in the right direction. I start my day off early, before anyone else is up, with 20 minutes of meditation, followed by 30 minutes of reading, (I’m currently reading Tony Robbins’ Awaken The Giant Within, this one will change your life, really I mean it. I’ll write more about this one in another post). I write in my journal about whatever I’m thinking that morning, usually questions I’ve had running around in my head and answers that have come to me during meditation, or what I want to do. But, I always finish it off with 3 things I’m grateful for, 3 things that will make today awesome, and my daily affirmations (thanks Tim Ferris, that one’s from you). I cap my morning off with a dedicated hour of working on my immediate goal or project that will be the most productive for me that day. And then it’s off to get in some PT (Physical Training), usually a 2.5 mile run with my dog or some calisthenics and kettle bell exercises.
By incorporating these things into my morning routine it helps me to build good habits and make the most out of my day. In the past I was just all over the place and couldn’t seem to get much accomplished. I’d have a bunch of projects started, but never finished any of them. I’d have all these unfinished jobs around the house and my wife would hound me to get something done so our home didn’t look like a construction zone. I would spread myself too thin at work and miss deadlines. And, I would constantly get distracted by unimportant things that would monopolize my time and at the end of the day, regardless of how “busy” I was, it seemed like nothing got accomplished. I couldn’t focus and I would forget things all the time. Since I have taken back my mornings and prioritized things, I have taken my time sacred to focus on what is truly important and impactful so I can start moving forward in life instead of getting stuck in neutral with my engine redlining.
It has been a huge change for me and an exciting journey that is just beginning. I’ve read way more books, learned so much, turned around my finances, and checked off many of my projects. Things are looking up. As an educator my aim is to inspire you and show you how you take back your life and make a change for the positive. I hope that my story has been an inspiration to be great. I will be sharing more on here as I learn more and figure things out. So stick around and let’s make things happen. Thanks for being a sounding board and go ahead and leave me a note. I’d love to hear your stories too. We can be an inspiration to each other and change the world, one success at a time. And I’d love to know what books you are reading. Jim Rohn once said “What books are you reading to move you toward your goal?”
I have linked all of the books that I have read in this post so you too can take advantage of the great lessons and content they have to offer. A big thanks to the authors who have taken the time to write these books and make it possible for us to prosper. Until next time, Peace Y’all.

Ideas for a mom with decision fatigue
A mom named Emma Marris listed every decision her kids asked her to make that required a decision, on a single day.
She concluded that decision fatigue is real and constant in her life as a mom.
I empathize. Even without children, I suffer from daily decision fatigue at work, school, even at home (when finding places for things and cleaning up).
I wonder, though, if she could frame the problem, and respond to it, in a way that would make her life easier.
I get the impression that Emma does not believe she has a choice. Even the title of the post reads, “Every decision my kids made me make in one day.” She seems to believe the decisions must be made, by her, right now.
I know it doesn’t feel that way, but you’re the mama, you’re the boss, and ultimately, you get to decide whether to make a decision or not. (I know, that’s another decision).
Looking at her description of the sort of questions her kids asked, what strikes me is:
1) Most of these decisions don’t matter.
In other words: If she doesn’t make the ideal decision, the consequences aren’t serious. The child won’t even remember for long.
Can we have waffles? Can we have chocolate chips in the waffles?
Can I mix it? Can I measure the baking powder? (Worse case scenario: a mess, which kiddo might help clean up).
Will you turn up the music?
Which of these games should we play?
OK, some of them matter a little, like “can we have ice cream for lunch?” (I doubt the answer required a lot of thought). Parents concerned about screen time might care about “can I play on your phone until you wake up?”
But even where there are potential health consequences, making the wrong decision a few days won’t put the child in the emergency room or on a therapist’s couch.
What matters is patterns of decisions over years.
2) Many of these decisions, the children can make for themselves. IMO, they should.
Examples include pretty much any question that doesn’t specifically request the parent to do something, such as:
Which card should I play?
Can I watch x kid’s show?
Where is my coat?
It’s not my business to tell someone how to parent. That said, here’s an important general principle:
The more small, unimportant decisions children make in their lives, the more practice they will have making choices. The more practice they get, the more prepared they will be to make decisions when the consequences actually matter.
School doesn’t seem to offer enough opportunities. As a result, Tumblr seems full of teenagers and young adults frantically trying to choose a major and career with no idea how to begin.
3) When decisions affect other people, the children’s decisions will have consequences. By experiencing others’ reactions, children can learn cause and effect and negotiation skills.
Can we listen to Dynamite by Taio Cruz instead of this podcast about the Mueller investigation while we make breakfast?
Let’s say Child 1 wants to listen to Dynamite over breakfast, and turns it on. Child 2 wants to listen to something else, and complains. Or Mom wants to listen to the news, and complains. Child 1:
a) Learns Child 2′s or Mom’s current preferences. (And over time, Child 2′s or Mom’s preferences in general).
b) Has the opportunity to negotiate for what they want. (Probably the easiest for a young kid will be something like “one of us listens to this now/the other one chooses what to listen to next”).
4) Mom needs a brain break. If she takes one, she can set an example of self-care!
If I were her, I would tell those little ones,
“Mom needs a break right now. Please ask me again in [5, 10, whatever] minutes.”
(It’s important to set an amount of time that’s possible for someone at the child’s stage of development to wait. It probably won’t be enough, but any break is better than none).
Especially at first, and when very young, kids will keep asking. She’ll have to repeat herself. That might feel frustrating and discouraging, but the effort won’t be a failure! She’ll get a slight reprieve, and her kids will learn that:
a) Sometimes people need breaks.
b) When people need a break, they can ask for it.
c) When people need a break to rest, they shouldn’t be interrupted unless it’s an emergency.
d) When the break is over, people will be happier, nicer, and more fun. (This is the reward).
Of course, poor Emma will have to explicitly, repeatedly, explain what’s an “emergency” question, and what questions can wait. “Back in my day,” parents had rules like this for when they were on the phone. (And when there was an important program on TV or radio, because you couldn’t record back then).
Kids tend to over-estimate what counts as an “emergency.” So she’ll have to explain, repeatedly and in different ways, that “Fire” or “someone is bleeding a lot” is an emergency, but “I want a popsicle” or “My sister’s looking at me funny” is not.
Eventually, children will learn what’s an emergency and what isn’t, and gain a concept of “relative urgency” or “relative importance.”
Emma may need to set a timer, because young kids, and many neurodivergent ones, haven’t developed a sense of time. Ideally, the timer will have a visual as well as an auditory component (such as a Time Timer). Children will stop asking “how much time is left?” if they can see the answer. Eventually, they’ll get used to the process of using a timer, and maybe improve their sense of time.
Finally, in the process of waiting through Mom’s break, kids can learn how to wait. Waiting is a skill. Perhaps even multiple skills. For example, young kids who can wait for a reward may use strategies, like distracting themselves (see: research on the “marshmallow test”).
Learning to wait is a win for:
a) The child. They’ll find waiting less painful, and get less negative feedback from adults.*
b) The mom, who can regain some mental energy.
c) The child’s teachers. If you’ve observed a classroom with children about ages 3-7, you’ve probably seen that teachers constantly stop the class to ask students to be quiet.
*You know that famous statistic about how children with ADHD get thousands more reprimands than children without ADHD? How much it harms their mental health? Imagine how much of a difference it’d make to reduce the number of reprimands a young child gets, whether ADHD or neurotypical.
Obligatory note about how my advice applies to neurodivergent kids:
Emma doesn’t say whether the children are neurotypical. They probably are. Given my life experiences and audience, I still want to point out:
A lot of these “life lessons” will take longer for a child with ADHD to learn than a neurotypical child. That “developmental delay of 3 years” that Russell Barkley talks about is real. (Although, the exact size of the delay probably varies from person to person).
That makes it all the more important to start teaching them early (and gently!).
However, children with ADHD also stand to benefit more from teaching. People with ADHD are especially likely to suffer from decision fatigue. If Mom models coping skills like taking a break, children will ADHD will have strategies to try.
TL;DR Conclusion:
Emma, you don’t have to make so many decisions. In fact, you’ll probably be a better parent by delegating more small choices to your little ones, and by taking decision-making breaks.
Hang in there!
If I could, I’d gladly play with/take care of your little ones for a while while you take a much-needed rest.

What is Logic?
That's a question I was bothering myself with. Even if you don't realize, the word logic gets used way more than you think in your everyday life. How many times do you hear these statements:
Use your brain! Just think logically! You just have to use your logic.
'Use your logic' this implies that everyone has their own logic. We all know that logic happens in your brain. Is it a basic way of thinking? A specific way to use your brain? Maybe it's just the basic human knowledge. But it's almost no doubt, it's a thing only humans have.
The statements with logic mostly encounter us when there's an issue. It must be our ability to solve problems. A strategy we use to cover the unknown. Maybe even filling up holes in our knowledge.
Let's say you encounter a hole in your knowledge: you don't know how to do something. So now you have a problem. If there's no one to help you you will reach a point where you have to do something. You have to start trying. This is undoubtebly a moment you will use your logic to at least get into the direction of a solution. You try and if it doesn't work you fail. But you have to try again. Using your logic and your newly made experience you find a new slightly different solution. This cycle keeps going until you have a solution.
So is logic just a connection between your knowledge? A thing that helps you use past experiences to solve similar problems? Is it something that depends on your IQ? An indicator of your intelligence?
We go to school to get smart. To develop our brains. The best example for logic is the unpopular subject, math. Math is really just a database of logic. It serves two main purposes: creating a basic communal logic for everyone (that went to school) and developing your own logic. Having one main logic we can rest on with rules and laws makes it easier for us to work together. It gives us a specific platform we all know and can work with.
As we learned, logic is based on knowledge and life experience. School isn't required to be intelligent. There's specific individuals who work better or worse in the education system. The things you need to be smart without education is life experience. What mathematics do for you is actually give you experiences to develop your logic without actually having to experience them in real life. Even if you might not actually need to use pythagoras in real life it is just another logic you know how to use.
Maths keeps on handing you a new logic, a new set of logical rules and teaches you how to use them. And after that you get to use it on problems it gives you. The same you would do with your life experience. It teaches problem solving with a seemingly unimportant example and neutral symbols. Neutral symbols so that you can apply them easier in real life. A and B are variables for problems in real life. Examples of possible life experiences and problems.
So it doesn't matter that you will never encounter someone that needs help loading 40,8 watermelons into their VW Polo but the fact that you learn how to solve problems in general is important.
Maths might actually be the most important and relevant subject in school.
I use my logic to teach myself specific tasks and hobbies. And even if my crappy version of Virgil Sanders' jacket won't help me pay rent it's something I do for fun. I'm teaching myself how to sew using my logic. I watch videos on the internet and use my logic to apply it to my own jacket.
Sometimes the task seems impossible to finish and I realize that it won't look very fashionable. When the task seems useless I tell myself that it improves my logic and my sewing skills. A skill that will help me in the future.
So when maths seems stupid, impossible and useless, please remember this post and keep going. Your logic will always keep developing and it will make life easier in the end. Even when you lost all motivation
as my psychologist said:
Interest = Motivation
#logic really is a good name for a rapper#logic#im gay i cant do math#what is logic#motivation#corona thoughts#woke#life experience#why is school important

Your Sociotype: SEI-0 (ISFp) Sensing Ethical Introvert - The Mediator
Brief Description of the
SEI
Using introverted sensing as her base function and extroverted intuition as her creative, the SEI excels at creatively applying her introverted sensing to improve the mood of those around her. As with the ESE, the SEI is in tune with people's emotional states and seeks to mitigate conflict and encourage a harmonious atmosphere. The SEI's creativity is practically unlimited, and this skill is used in a number of pursuits including graphic design, music, and culinary arts, to name a few. Generally speaking, this creativity is channeled towards uses that will have a positive impact on at least one person's emotional state; as such, the SEI would prefer not to channel her creativity towards more impersonal endeavors. At her best, the SEI applies sensori stimuli (in the form of art, good food, etc.) to make herself and those around her comfortable and content; at her worst, the SEI can become highly emotional, and these emotions can become very volatile--changing quickly from happiness to sadness to anger within minutes. Furthermore, these volatile and strong emotional states will be shared freely with those around her--to either their pleasure or detriment.
Socionics Types: SEI-ISFp
Description of The SEI
Ego Block
Introverted Sensing
Si
SEIs are naturally attuned to the nature of the physical stimuli around them. They are often aptly aware of whether they are comfortable or relaxed in a given environment and they often take spontaneous action to make their living environment more comfortable. They often make effective hosts, as they may spontaneously exhibit great attention to ensure that friends and family around them are comfortable and that their physical needs are well satisfied. They often have a natural level of attentiveness to the signals of the human body, and may make instinctive responses to adapt their environment to their comfort.
SEIs are usually unconcerned with the external demands around them, and may feel as though the world around them is overly hectic or frenetic, and unable to stop and smell the roses. SEIs may disdain the hustle and bustle of the world around them, and instead display a relaxed and convivial demeanor. They may be inclined to dismiss the productive demands placed on them and instead focus their energy on maintaining a comfortable, familiar, recreational, and nonthreatening environment. At times when they have to present themselves or their work to others, however, they may be overly socially anxious and afraid of disappointing others, and they may tend to overwork themselves or give extra effort. In this way, they may be highly industrious and dutiful workers.
SEIs often exhibit a down-to-earth quality and often focus their attention on events, affects, or relationships relevant to their physical environment or personal experience; for this reason, their style of conversation may at times come across as somewhat mundane or unimportant. SEIs may focus much of their energy towards processes oriented with bettering sensory experiences, including visual art, fashion, food preparation, dance, or other physical aspects. Their affective responses to situations are often intertwined with their level of physical comfort.
Extroverted Ethics
Fe
SEIs are often highly attuned to the emotional environment immediately surrounding them. They are skilled at loosening up the atmosphere and often seek to actively contribute to the overall sense of group harmony and familiarity. SEIs often feel uncomfortable in circumstances in which the group atmosphere is overly hostile or virulent; in such situations, they may seek to play the role of peacemaker in order to restore the mood to a sense of joviality or calmness.
SEIs may expect individuals around them to behave according to the predominant emotional affect in a given environment. They tend to enjoy crafting an open, conflict-free, and relaxed environment where individuals are able to express themselves freely, but they may feel confused and deflated if somebody espouses viewpoints contrary to the predominant mood.
Many SEIs are shy, sensitive, and reserved. They may develop a mild, friendly, and soft-spoken demeanor, as they can frequently be overly concerned that they have offended others with their actions. They can be inclined to a somewhat avoidant, withdrawn, and socially reserved lifestyle. Rather than forge strong emotional connections with others, some SEIs may be inclined to interact spontaneously (and often reservedly) with others according to the immediate emotional ambience of a situation.
SEIs tend to spend a lot of energy concerning themselves with social acceptance and interpersonal dynamics.
Super-Ego Block
Introverted Intuition
Ni
SEIs are capable of mentalizing and devling into imaginative inner worlds, pondering past, future, and recognizing patterns and trends. However, they tend not to emphasize these aspects especially, instead emphasizing physical, tangible, and relational aspects, and the simple pleasantries in life.
SEIs may be very minimally inclined to think towards the future. They may resist thinking of long-term matters, seeing them as somewhat unnatural and secondary to the state of their immediate pleasure or experience. However, at times, they may recognize and become overly anxious about the importance of long-term planning, sometimes demonstrating a tendency to overthink or overplan situations, and to draw unrealistic assessments about their future.
Extroverted Logic
Te
SEIs may have difficulty adapting themselves to tasks in which they are expected to make judgments about the efficiency or effectiveness of a process, or tasks requiring them to evaluate or assimilate a large amount of factual information. They are prone to be uninterested in synthesizing the productive, technical, or methodological details of a situation, instead preferring to focus on their own experience and the emotional environment around them. They may see individuals who are highly attuned to processing and disseminating factual information dry, harsh, or inconsiderate. They may be skeptical and hesitant if proactively engaged or asked for feedback, particularly if the project does not relate to their personal knowledge or experience. They are equally inclined to be skeptical of others' claims of knowledge or expertise if not derived from direct personal experience, but from other sources such as books and the like.
SEIs are often highly disinclined to engage in productive tasks, and may be inclined to react to "responsible" individuals or environments as overly somber, cold, or dull. They often see the hustle and bustle of working concerns to be insignificant, preferring to focus on their own comfort and friendships.
Super-Id Block
Extroverted Intuition
Ne
SEIs may demonstrate stagnant or reserved lifestyles. Many SEIs are disinclined to spontaneous action, travel, or readily adopting new interests. They may go through life quietly, dutifully, and comfortably, feeling as though there are no truly novel pursuits for them to seek. They may be perceived by others as insipid or uninventive. SEIs appreciate the company of friendly and engaging individuals who can show them new and interesting projects, and expand their mental landscape. They often make willing followers in zany or unusual pursuits or travels.
Some SEIs may have difficulty formulating original conceptual connections. SEIs can be attracted to esoteric, theoretical, or intellectual fields of interest, and may be drawn towards investigating the conceptual frameworks of others rather than developing their own ideas. They may be inclined to assimilate theories, possibilities and novel ideas and apply them to their own experience, comfort, or overall state of well-being.
SEIs are often focused on the present and may be unaware of the depths of their imaginative abilities. They can be insatiably curious individuals on some topics, but may be reticent to seek out information spontaneously on unfamiliar ideas. They are not always cognizant of the new opportunities that may develop for them or the directions in life that they may choose to pursue.
Introverted Logic
Ti
SEIs seek clarity in their system of beliefs and understanding. They may seek to reinforce and expand their base of knowledge by assimilating information in the form of easy-to-remember models or systems. They may be inclined to developing models and belief systems based on large amounts of data that they have personally processed or personal experience; it can be difficult to dissuade them from or convince them to reevaluate the beliefs that they develop in this way, or to introduce additional variables into the conceptual equations that they produce. SEIs may be very adept at organizing data, and sometime can exhibit a meticulous fascination in the numbers and conceptualizations that they derive from it.
SEIs are anxious to satisfy themselves that they have already learned enough on a subject to reach definitive conclusions, and dislike the idea that acquiring expertise in a given subject is a never-ending process rather than a step. They may dislike having it pointed out, or demonstrated, that their understanding and expertise was not as definitive as they had concluded.
Id Block
Extroverted Sensing
Se
SEIs are often quite averse to conflict and aggression. They may be highly discomfited and unsettled by environments in which conflict, competitiveness, and/or aggressive behavior are the norm. SEIs often have difficulty asserting themselves or saying no to others, and so some may even choose to overlook the roughshod nature of environments in which they subsist and instead try to maintain for themselves a positive attitude. Many SEIs try to make a point not to be aggressive, rowdy, or hurtful themselves.
SEIs are rarely interested in matters of political hierarchy or who maintains power in a situation; they may be inclined to believe that everyone will be well off if people treat each other with kindness and decency.
Introverted Ethics
Fi
SEIs are often disinclined to making harsh or dismissive moral or ethical judgments. They prefer to maintain a positive attitude, and tend to see individuals' behavior and interactions as situational, and as a reflection of the predominant emotional atmosphere, rather than as a reflection of their character.
SEIs are adept at understanding the relational and emotional dispositions of others. However, they are usually more instinctively concerned with promoting a friendly and positive mood than with affirming the positive intentions of those around them. They may be inclined to overlook disaccords and contrarieties in the presence of a positive mood.

••••••••
As a Virgo, you are forever seeking knowledge, but the hub of your universe is work. You are meticulous and efficient in your work, paying a great deal of attention to detail. You have little patience with those who refuse to work, but you also need to be conscious of your tendency to let work become your whole life. You would probably function best in careers that are related to service to mankind. Though you seem rather cool and self-contained, you have a very helpful nature and you enjoy serving others. You are quietly devoted to the ones you care for.
At heart you are modest and humble, and you rarely strive to be in the limelight or in a position of power. You have a sharply analytical mind and a keen eye for detail. You prefer to observe, dissect and study life from a distance. You are conscientious and conservative, and you can be relied upon to be efficient and thorough in your work. You take pride in a job well done. What you may lack in self-confidence you often make up for in skill, developing expertise and competency in some specialized area.
You are highly discriminating and may be especially particular about your diet and health habits. Your sensitivities are well developed and you will be disturbed by elements in your surroundings that others may overlook. Your tastes are simple and understated, but extremely refined. Coarseness, bluntness and vulgarity really offend you. You can be difficult to live with sometimes, because of your sensitivity and your idiosyncrasies about food and cleanliness.
You need to learn not to exhaust your bodily energies by worrying, fretting and overworking. Foolish fears and apprehensions can have deleterious effects upon your health, but by establishing discipline of the mind you can have a marvelous resistance to disease. Your body is likely to reject artificial foods and medicines. Eating when you are angry or anxious can cause you painful and harmful after-effects.
You tend to be too careful and too cautious in your approach to life. You may over-analyze before you act and are often too serious. You have a tendency to subject your world to a microscopic analysis, and you need to avoid getting so engrossed with trivialities that you lose sight of the issues. You love order and organization. However, you need to learn to discriminate between the essential and the trivial, or you could experience difficulty in establishing and maintaining good relationships. In your love life, you need to consider that not very many human beings could live up to your standards of perfection. Just because you are a Virgo, you do NOT have to set yourself up to be a VIRGIN!
You like good food and are fond of comfort and good clothes. You have a good eye for fashion for yourself and others, and you are a stickler for quality. You admire material progress, but you have difficulty accumulating large sums of money because you really like to spend it. However, you are likely to be materially blessed and comfortable. You are impressed by eloquent words, as in poetry and beautiful prose, and you are likely to be unusually eloquent in your own manner of writing and speaking.
Some would say you are a little TOO meticulous, for you can be extremely critical and petty if everything is not done exactly as you think it should be. You worry about things that other people consider unimportant. You like to organize and arrange everything into a logical system, and you are often distinctly uncomfortable when something does not fit into a neat category. You probably wish that you were not such a perfectionist, for you can also be mercilessly SELF-critical as well. Whether in your environment or within yourself, you tend to focus on the flaws with a desire to improve, refine and perfect. You are strictly truthful and scrupulously honest--to the point of being your most severe self-critic. You find it difficult to give yourself enough credit or value.
You need to learn to relax, lighten up, and allow yourself to play and MAKE some mistakes which might actually be HEALTHY for you!

Satori (Between the Lines) - Part 13
Sakura furrows her brow, watching Mizuki-sensei intently as he holds up a large leaf. She’s poised to take notes as needed, ignoring the scoffs that come from some of the less academically inclined students. To be fair, few of her classmates match Sakura’s passion for academics. Just because they will not be tested on the theory behind this technique does not mean it is unimportant.
“Over the next few days we will begin to access your chakra,” Mizuki says. “Now, we are just accessing chakra at this point; we will not even contemplate channeling it until next month.” His smile firms into a scowl as he stares them all down, trying to impress upon them the importance of these rules. Even though some of the clan children have received training in chakra manipulation, they were always under vigilant supervision from their parents. Mizuki alone could not supervise thirty children attempting to wield their chakra. His frown fades to a smile as they all nod. “I thought we could end today with a small demonstration of what we’ll be working on for the next month. When we start manipulating chakra, your first task will be to push your chakra into a leaf.”
Mizuki makes an exaggerated flourish to the leaf in his hand. A couple of the children giggle and his smile widens. “Now, what you will be doing is burning away the center of the leaf with pure chakra and keeping that chakra there, not allowing it to spread elsewhere.” Mizuki draws on his chakra, enacting his words.
There is a smattering of gasps and clapping, mainly from civilian-born children. The clan children are jaded to such simple feats of chakra, but there is awe in the faces of the civilian children. Mizuki feels a slight pang of nostalgia, remembering his own joy when he was introduced to chakra. Where has that magic gone for him?
He shakes himself of these errant thoughts, looking over his students. “Can anyone tell me why we complete this task? What does it help build?”
Most of the students shuffle a bit, breaking off eye contact in hopes of not being called on. Sakura, an exemplary student as always, meets his gaze and smiles eagerly. Mizuki doesn’t fight the urge to return the smile, nodding at her. “Sakura?”
“These exercises will help build our chakra control,” Sakura says. “Developing chakra control will help us when it comes to putting chakra into the jutsus we do. It’ll also help keep us from injuring our chakra coils as we practice.”
“Exactly right, Sakura,” Mizuki replies. “Chakra control is foundational to every ninjutsu you will perform if you become shinobi. An individual with smaller chakra reserves may very well beat someone with greater reserves because they have better chakra control. Your ability to control your chakra and employ it to your will may be the deciding factor in the survival of you and your unit.” He pauses, voice gentling. “I’m not trying to scare you; I only wish to impress upon you the importance of these sometimes tedious exercises. They’re needed to perform the awesome ninjutsus you see shinobi perform. And that’ll be it for today! Uzuki-san will start proctoring the afternoon spars in fifteen minutes.”
Most of the students scramble to their feet and scamper outside, but Sakura lingers. Mizuki greets her kindly, well-used to Sakura staying after lessons to ask questions. Once, he believed she stayed afterwards out of a reluctance to attend to the more physical side of Academy training. He has seen her vast improvement in that area over the past few months and yet still she stays, excited to speak with him one-on-one.
Mizuki truly doesn’t mind it. All of the Academy instructors play favorites. It’s a behavior that isn’t frowned upon; after all, the entire infrastructure of Konoha’s shinobi world relies upon it. What else but nepotism would have the succession of Hokage determined based on familial or mentorship bond? So Suzume dotes upon the Hyuga students who come through, Daikoku sings the praises of the Uchiha, Iruka shows a soft spot for the Uzumaki brat, and Mizuki?
Well, Mizuki is civilian-born and civilian-bred; he doesn’t care to kowtow to any of the clan children that he teaches. The clans have done nothing for him but prevent him from rising among the shinobi ranks. His refusal to attach himself to any of the clans has garnered him no favors.
So Mizuki’s favorite student is Sakura. Her intelligence, her curiosity, and her dedication seem a reflection to him of the boy he once was. And Mizuki would prefer to keep her spirit from being crushed by the system if at all possible. Loathe as he is admit it, her friendship with Shino is wise, even though he doubts there is any calculation to it. Of all of the clans, the Aburame clan is the most decent, though that is not saying much.
“May I help you, Sakura?” he asks.
“Maybe,” Sakura replies, fingers fidgeting but back straight. Her parents have taught her well in regards to her posture. “During my field experience assignment I received a bit of chakra control training. I was wondering if there are any books I could read on additional techniques. I checked the library, but all of the books for chakra manipulation are restricted access to genin and above only.”
Mizuki rubs his chin, pondering her question. “I’m afraid the Academy doesn’t have any reading material available to your age group, Sakura-chan. There is a fear regarding damaged chakra coils. Have you asked Shino? He may be able to lend you a book from the Aburame clan’s library.”
Sakura’s nose crinkles. “We looked through the available books at his house; everything related to chakra control is specific to hive hosts. Ino offered too, but the chakra control in her family scrolls concerns uses related to the mind.” Sakura’s face falls a bit. “I can’t do any of those exercises.”
I’m not a clan child, lingers unspoken but understood between them.
Again, Mizuki marvels at the discrepancies between civilian and clan children. The Academy, in theory, should put all of the students on equal playing ground by the time they graduate. The students should become rounded, prepared individuals, ready to be genin. And yet everything is set up to the clan children’s advantage, from the spars where they can practice their family techniques to the focused attentions given by Academy teachers. The basic repertoire of ninjutsus and fundamental skills learned at the Academy are nice, but the implicit understanding is that the knowledge gained from the Academy is not enough. Clan children receive ample supplemental training at home, both in secret techniques, clan-specific jutsus, and practical knowledge passed on by family members. Civilian-raised children?
Well, they earn the privilege of acting as fodder on missions. Or, if they manage to scrape by, they can make it to the illustrious rank of chunin.
“I’m not allowed to pass any of the books on to you,” Mizuki says, words coating his tongue bitterly. “However, we can get some practice in over these next few months, depending on how you progress.”
It is a paltry platitude, nowhere near what he would like to offer her, but Sakura stares up at him as if he offered her the world.
“Thank you Mizuki-sensei!” Sakura says, throwing herself at his legs in a hug before darting away.
Mizuki watches her go, smile slowly falling away. One day, sooner more likely than later, Konoha will snuff out the bright spark that makes Sakura Sakura. And Mizuki knows there is little he can do to prevent it.
Ibiki pens out a summary to his most recent interrogation session, a scowl stretching his scars. The Kumo nin was recalcitrant and unruly, unsurprising truthfully, but something about him stuck with Ibiki. Maybe it was his soft spoken tone, gentle, but firm in his convictions even as Ibiki systematically tries to break him to pieces. Maybe it’s the fact that his eyes were the same shade of brown as Idate’s. Hell, maybe it’s the fact that Ibiki is running on two hours of sleep for the past thirty-seven hours.
Still, something about this prisoner clings to him, refusing to let go.
Ibiki startles at the rasp of paper in the corner of his office and he looks up, suddenly remembering Sakura’s presence. Her attention is focused on the large book she’s holding, something about agriculture in the Land of Tea or some other drivel. He’s never seen anyone as voracious a reader as Sakura is; Ibiki thinks that she would be happy to read about grass growing.
Hell, that’s probably what she’s reading about right now.
Only Sakura.
Ibiki scrubs a hand over his jaw, the bristles of his unshaven face prickling against his hand. The tightness of his scowl eases as he watches her, utterly absorbed in her reading. Such single-minded focus won’t serve her well in the field, where she’ll have to maintain multiple domains of attention, but, for now, it’s alright. Something in his chest warms as he realizes the absolute trust Sakura has in him, to so willingly relax in his presence like this.
If someone had told him a year ago that an Academy student would feel so comfortable around him, he would’ve laughed in their face before dragging them before one of the Yamanaka to assess if they were a plant. After all, no one felt comfortable around him; in what world would an Academy student?
And yet, despite all of the odds, Haruno Sakura has wormed her way into his life. He knows that she was intimidated when they first met, his loud, abrasive nature making her uneasy. But she shed those fears quickly, offering him simple kindnesses that fell by the wayside long ago for him. When was the last time someone gave him a guileless smile? Brought him a homemade lunch? He thinks it was sometime before Idate disappeared, before Ibiki made chūnin and was slated for the role of commanding officer of T&I.
Ibiki stares down unseeingly at his hands.
It’s been a long time since he’s felt human.
Sometimes, it feels like the blood will never be washed clean.
He scrutinizes his hands intensely, hearing for a moment the screams of the Kumo nin in his mind. His hands are spotless; he wore his thick gloves during the session and fastidiously cleaned up thereafter.
Still, it doesn’t prevent the creeping, crawling sensation of iron coating and flaking off his skin.
Ibiki shakes his head roughly, scrambling that train of thought.
He doesn’t have a clue as to why Sakura likes him or why she chooses to stick around. He knows he isn’t good company; his social life is nonexistent outside of interactions with some of the more unstable members of the Intelligence Division. But he’ll do what he can to encourage her to stay. He knows that he’s unworthy of her kindness and friendship, but he’ll accept whatever scraps she offers. Ibiki may be forever bloodstained, but he doesn’t mind.
He’ll be better able to protect Sakura that way.
Less morals to hinder him, after all.
“What are you nerds doing in here?” Anko asks, popping in unannounced as is her wont.
Sakura nearly jumps clear out of her skin, but Ibiki merely sighs, shaking his head. “We’re working, Anko. A task you are entirely unfamiliar with.”
Anko’s eyes take on a manic gleam as she sizes him up, but Ibiki just watches her in turn. He’s just as unhinged and dangerous as she is, only in a different way. Anko smirks, mania easing in her eyes, as if she knows his thoughts.
“The work I do is much more fun, old man,” Anko taunts.
“I’m three years older,” Ibiki says.
“And a helluva a lot uglier,” Anko snipes back.
Ibiki snorts, choosing not to rise to her verbal jabs. Anko’s attention shifts beyond him to Sakura, who sits quietly with her book closed in her lap.
“How are you doing, kid?” she asks, smirk softening into almost verging on a smile.
“I’m well,” Sakura replies. “And you, Anko-san?”
“Doing fine,” Anko says, flapping a hand to dismiss Sakura’s concern.
“Oh!” Sakura perks up, rustling through her bag. She pulls out a small, wrapped package. “I have something for you, Anko-san.”
“You do?” Anko asks, true surprise flitting across her features before her expression settles to apathy.
Sakura jumps to her feet and rushes toward Anko, offering the package to her. Anko takes it and opens it with deft, eager fingers. “Dango?” Anko asks, pulling out one of the sweets.
Sakura nods enthusiastically. “Sarasa-san bought me some from a nearby vendor for helping her out with some of the detailing on this leather bag commission she was working on. She needed my help because I have tinier fingers for the fine details.” Sakura raises her hands, wiggling said fingers. “And the vendor gave me a lot so I thought you might like some too!”
Ibiki notices the way Anko’s lips start to curl into a secret smile before she firms them, keeping her expression neutral. Still, her hands betray her as she gently, reverently, takes a stick of dango and presses it to her lips. “So you help in a leather shop?”
Sakura lights up and begins to speak about the various projects she’s assisted on in the merchant district. Most of the jargon flies over Ibiki’s head, but he enjoys the clear enthusiasm Sakura has for the topic, her eyes sparkling and hands gesticulating wildly.
Anko’s eyes cut to him and she tilts her head slightly, eyes narrowing.
He nods in turn.
No matter their differences, no matter Anko’s general dislike of him, they are united in this.
Sakura is an important person to both of them.
And Ibiki thinks there is very little they would not do for her sake.
Sakura curls her toes in the grass, luxuriating in the heat of the ground beneath her and the sun above. It has been a long day and her body aches with the satisfaction of the all-out spars she participated in, leaving her exhausted. Her eyes slip shut as she enjoys the simple pleasure of relaxing.
Truthfully, she is a bit frustrated. Though Sakura knows that she made the right move in withdrawing from apprenticeship with Shikaku, her progress in learning ciphers has slowed. If she were honest with herself, her learning has outright stalled. She does not regret her decision to cut ties with Shikaku, but she hadn’t realized the true dirth in cipher knowledge. No one else has that knowledge or, if they do, they do not care to share it with an Academy student.
Sakura purses her lips, pulling up a bit of grass. She’s gotten complacent, used to being handed the knowledge as she asks for it. Not too long ago she was finding work arounds to get basic shinobi knowledge before she entered the Academy. She just needs to get creative again.
Grass falls on her face and Sakura startles upright, sneezing. Eyes smarting, she meets Celadine’s passive gaze.
“Are you well?” he asks.
“I’m fine,” Sakura says, rubbing at her nose. “What are you doing here?”
“Watching you,” he replies.
“Right,” Sakura huffs, shaking her head. “Your superior didn’t pull you off detail when the news got around?”
Celandine cocks his head.
Sakura flings herself back down onto her back, staring up at the sky. “I’m no longer the apprentice of Nara Shikaku.”
Celandine remains silent for a long moment and Sakura turns her attention to him. “It matters not. You are still interesting.”
“To you or to your superior?”
“Both,” Celandine says.
“Huh,” Sakura mutters.
She doesn’t think that she should enjoy his company as much as she does. He’s undoubtedly odd, his mannerisms flat and restrained. He holds himself a lot like some of the high-level shinobi that she catches glimpses of sometimes; though she’s never seen one as young as Celandine. Sakura knows that all of her friends-Torune especially-would be against her continued association with him if they knew.
But they don’t know.
Sakura pats the ground beside her. Celandine just stares at her and she clears her throat, offering him a tentative smile. “Sit down with me if you like.”
Celandine takes the seat with a sublime sense of grace that Sakura doesn’t think she’ll ever be able to accomplish, no matter her years of training. She takes a moment to feel envious before refocusing.
“I’ve been meaning to ask; are you allowed to speak with me? It doesn’t exactly seem like the best idea as your target.”
Celandine’s eyes slant away from her, a strange lilt to his lips. “I received no orders regarding not speaking to you.”
Sakura cannot keep herself from laughing at that, rolling onto her side as she does so. Celandine watches her quietly, his chest feeling light. They spend several long moments like this until Sakura manages to calm herself.
“I see you enjoy bending the rules to fit your needs,” Sakura says. “I can understand that.”
“Your clothing is green,” Celandine says blandly.
Sakura looks down at herself, groaning at the sight of grass stains across the bright yellow fabric of her shirt. “Otou-sama won’t be pleased,” Sakura says as she gingerly pats the stains. “Looks like otou-sama and I will be doing the washing early this week.”
“Your father washes the clothes? Why not hire someone else for that task?” Celandine asks.
“Otou-sama likes to do it himself when he’s in the village; he says it’s relaxing,” Sakura replies. “I like helping him. We go down to the river to wash and usually eat our lunches afterwards.”
“Aren’t there more important things that both of you need to do?”
It’s a question that Mebuki asks Kizashi often as well. So, Sakura draws on her father’s steadfast reply, “What’s more important than spending time with family?”
Celandine falls silent and, from the slight furrow of his brow, Sakura can tell he’s pondering something. She plucks out several pieces of grass, eying them for quality. She chooses the greenest and plumpest among them, cupping it between her hands and pressing her thumbs up against her mouth. Glancing askance at Celandine, she grins when she realizes that he is still contemplating something.
Sakura blows hard into her hands and ensuing sound tramples the quiet between them. She notices with glee the way that Celandine jumps, turning a doleful look on her.
“What are you doing?” Celandine asks.
“Playing a grass whistle,” Sakura says, grin widening. “Well, more like a grass trumpet.”
“How do you do it?” he asks, peering down at her hands with interest.
Sakura’s grin softens at the spark of interest in her eyes and she opens her hands, placing the blade of grass into his. “Here,” she says, cupping his hands around it. “Let me show you.”

Chekhov’s Bathroom
RECORD SCRATCH -
so you may be wondering how I got myself into this situation -
PREVIOUSLY ON DANGANRONPA V3...
... we found out the classroom has an incredibly interesting mechanism that not only creates flashback lights, but immediately transforms the whole setup back to normal the moment someone comes in. WHICH. UH. IS HUGE.
Also, we’re nowhere near the girl’s bathroom - but we’re getting to that, I promise.
.... Also also, Himiko is alive, which is very good! And I’m super happy for her! I’m just, uh, distracted, that’s all.
L-LOOK HIMIKO I AM REALLY HAPPY TO SEE YOU BUT I DON’T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT WE’VE JUST UNCOVERED HERE -
Oh crap that’s right though! I guess we aren’t assuming she was able to dislodge it enough from her side by way of time and effort? .... I did just associate the word effort with Himiko, didn’t I. T-TO BE FAIR THOUGH, SHE HAS GOTTEN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT -
sweetcheeks has the cutest little ‘e-eto...’ sound clip istg
Aaaaw Shuichi! He’s gotten so much better at expressing his feelings!
LMAO HIMIKO
WE’RE TREADING INTO UMINEKO TERRITORY WITH THAT SORT OF LANGUAGE man she really is trying to change the genre even now
I was going to say you really need to tell her about the flashback light machine you found but now I’m afraid of bursting her bubble. 8′D
....
You know what? Speaking of adorable sound clips, her ‘KA KA KA - !’ is also cute af. Equality!
- another seacats references
sweetcheeks I’m sorry I can’t help it
okay I know that it’s just the building collapsing from the damage but at the same time -
“K1-B0 CAN YOU PLEASE WATCH YOUR AIM!”
“SORRY CAN’T HEAR YOU, I ONLY LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY FINISH MY FTES -”
I was just one away k1-b0 I was just one away -
“And how crazy would it be if someone died in an investigation, anyway - oh wait -”
Yet another bone for the my fellow Umineko fans but man I can’t get over the similarities between Maria and her - I honestly wonder if she was inspired by her at all. 8′D
ANYWAY IGNORE ME TIME TO DECONSTRUCT THE MAGIC SOLUTION -
..... you lost me. But I suppose that’s why she’s inviting us to investigate the bathroom with her -
HIMIKO. HIMIKO. FOCUS.
......... this would be a bad time to bring up the Love Hotel, huh.
It would also be a good time to bring up the whole flashback light situation too, but??? We don’t? Okay, fine. Moving on, I suppose.
MORE RUNNING - though at least it’s a lot closer than the other spots? LIKE A CERTAIN ASTRONAUT’S LAB LOOK I LOVE YOU KAITO AND TSUMUGI BUT FFS WAS THAT NECESSARY -
Omg I love Shuichi’s internal monologue here as he stares at the bathroom door and tries to psyche himself up after going in -
Full disclosure Shuichi? It’s just a room. I’ve accidentally walked into the guy’s room myself. It’s... just a room. It’s not a big deal. Just. Just go in there, dude.
SWEETCHEEKS. YOU ALSO NEED TO FOCUS.
IT’S REALLY NOT A BIG DEAL UNLESS IT’S IN USE.
One step two step three step you can do this Shuichi Saihara this bathroom’s got nothing on you, we have the Detective’s Authority on our side - !
“Please tell me quickly before I pass out from stress.”
................ this sounds more like the Chamber of Secrets to me, but okay.
Wait, no, seriously, were they connected? Since when was Junko’s hidden room connected to the bathroom? I swear they weren’t??? Wasn’t there a special control room and everything? Am I misremembering?
?????? Seriously, though? W-What in the world are you talking about???
Honestly if this appeared behind the sink I would have freaked out. .... Well, more than I’m freaking out, for multiple reasons. There’s the general ‘oh shit a secret passage’ and then there’s the more specific my brain associates two characters with this room because of a certain scene for shipping purposes and one of them is still alive, currently with us, and incredibly suspicious -
Oh goodness, how fitting that they left finding the hidden passage for the Ultimate Magician. 8′)
Where’s the exit then? Like, the hidden one that leads to the bathroom? Was it also concealed in case this room was discovered?
.................wait,
wait
WAIT
I NEED TO LOOK UP SOMEtHING -
BECAUSE I SWEAR
TSUMUGI SAID SHE WENT TO THE BATHROOM IN CHAPTER 1 WHEN WE WERE COLLECTING ALIBIS - or someone said she did? There was the whole group that went downstairs, Kaede and Shuichi in the classroom, and the ones left upstairs were Kokichi, Miu, Korekiyo, Tsumugi, and... Ryoma? K1-b0? Did Ryoma get invited down? He seems like he would’ve been an asset but okay now’s not the time to criticize Kaito’s ‘best fighters’ choices -
oh god where’s the screenshot I really didn’t document anything in the first chapter at all lmao -
I just - I just remember it being so weird at the time? Like a random tangent that went nowhere? She just said she went to the washroom, they followed up for like, five minutes, and then that was it - or... or something, right? Because she never went past Kaede and Shuichi? And then there were apologies passed around for accusing her, and I thought it was cute at the time, and I thought she was kinda cute, and Ryoma too, and oh god I miss them but I’m getting distracted -
OOOH MY GOD I ALWAYS THOUGhT THIS WAS WEIRD POInT BUt ULTIMATELY DISMISSED IT AS UNIMPORTANT WHEN THE GAME SEEMED TO MOVE COMPLETELY PAST IT
Enter through the bathroom.... run out and grab the handbook.... sneak back up while no one’s the wiser? What if Kaede’s plan had failed???? Then again, Tsumugi said she had the aura of a protagonist.... did she have that much faith in her to succeed? this is some twisted Kaemugi at work lmao
And omfg it wasn’t included on Rantaro’s map for the sole purpose of setting him up for some kind of ambush -
A mastermind who, honestly, was heavily hinted to be female with the initial ‘mother’ comments in Chapter 4 but has definitely been confirmed.
Also this game is really driving over how badly the mastermind screwed Rantaro over. what was it she said, backflip onto a landmine and die or something -
SWEETCHEEKS DID YOU REALIZE TOO???
Then again you didn’t have the benefit of being with me for the Chapter 1 fanservice scene... 8′D
GOOD.
T... thanks for confirming I suppose.
.... ew. Why can’t being busted stop you from talking, too.
Wait... really??? Why? Shouldn’t you and the mastermind have the same shared interests at heart?? Even if you’re at your end, shouldn’t you want to protect the identity of the mastermind - or at least keep on with this whole Kaede frame-job?
... But yeah, okay, I get it now - they’re trying to drive that phrase into my brain, and I think I understand why. I just, uh, wish there was another way about it, or that the wording could be a bit different, that’s all. 8′D
BUT WHY
OH NOW YOU’LL SHUT UP
oh ew it vomited like, motor oil or something. Eeeew.
>:|
Man K1-b0, even though I’m pretty sure it was Monotaro that caused the explosion, you really... really aren’t being careful with your classmates’ lives anymore, huh?
J-J... Just let her have this one, Shuichi. It’s okay to add a layer of fantasy as long as we can get the answer. 8′D
I’m so glad we have a little chance for sassy Sweetcheeks to rear his head.
I still want to get a visual on what the pathway looks like from the mastermind’s end but I guess just knowing it exists is enough. 8′D Ah well.
And then Shuichi says nothing LMAO SHUICHI SHE IS BEGGING YOU FOR SOME EXTERNAL VALIDATION
He.... he’s getting better, but man he’s still pretty obtuse when it comes to emotions. I’m glad that while he’s showing some improvements, he didn’t just transform all at once.
Anyway, after Shuichi and I try to leave and Himiko literally doesn’t move Shuichi realizes that there’s some emotional work he needs to do on the side of his detective work. Himiko still has to spell it out for him though. B-Baby steps, kid.
LITERALLY. HAS TO GUIDE HIM THROUGH HER VULNERABILITY. LIKE, HANDHOLDING HIM THE ENTIRE WAY.
.... Though this made me smile. Aaaaw, that’s pretty sweet. Just a thought, but I wonder if this is another case of him thinking everyone else is on the same page as him and projecting, the same way he does with his anxieties? ‘This is the clue that will change everything. And now that I know that, surely Himiko does too.’ It’s another example of him diminishing his own skill as a detective - “if I could do this, anyone can” - so naturally, he had already assumed Himiko understood this. Why would she be worried if she already knew the huge contribution she had just made, after all?
anyway small tangent ignore me
You’re the Ultimate Mage. :D
Sometimes I’m a little worried about indulging in her magic/escapism fantasies but then she smiles like this and I can’t help but think it’s worth it ~ she has been through so much, you know? She needs something familiar lol to lean on and as long as it’s not impending the investigation like it did in Chapter 2.... 8′D
Adrenaline is disappearing, huh? Well, keep that energy up - now we have to be nearly done, right? .... Right? What else could there possibly be?
“Shuichi come quick there’s something weird in Hotel Kumasutra -”
“NO. NO, I REFUSE!!!!”
“OH GOD COOTIES, THERE ARE DEFINITELY COOTIES EVERYWHERE -”
lmao Shuichi never change

HOW CAN STUDENTS IMPROVE THEIR TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS?
No matter how you slice it, there are only 24 hours in a day. Time is a finite resource, and it’s up to you to make the most of it.Time management is an important skill for students to develop, as it helps them balance their academic, social, and personal responsibilities.
The Importance of Time Management
The importance of time management comes down to how much it impacts your personal and professional life. Time management is organizing your day so that you find the best use for every moment.Excellent time management allows you to create a healthy balance in your school life and home life. The consequences of failed time management include missing deadlines and living with excessive stress.
Even if you’ve failed to manage your time in the past, it’s never too late to change. Here are some tips to help students improve their time management skills:
1) Set goals:
Start by setting realistic and achievable goals for each day, week, and month. This will give you a clear idea of what you want to accomplish and how you want to allocate your time because when you set realistic goals, you get to prioritize in your mind which goal will require how much realistic timeline to be full-filled and can work on the goals accordingly.
2) Create a schedule:
Make a daily or weekly schedule that includes time for academics, extracurricular activities, exercise, and rest. Stick to the schedule as closely as possible because everything is important in life as ‘all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.’ And following a proper schedule would be helpful as that would make sure that no time is wasted from the precious 24 hours that we get in a day.
3) Prioritize tasks:
Prioritizing tasks is one of many ways to manage time. By prioritizing the tasks one can accomplish many tasks that he/she has planned for the day or probably the week. Prioritizing means to determine the order for dealing with a series of items or tasksaccording to their relative importance. Make a list of all the tasks you need to complete and prioritize them based on their importance and deadline. Focus on completing the most important tasks first say for example it is your exam time so completing the syllabus will be your priority.
4) Use a planner:
Keep a planner and use it to track your daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and schedules. This will help you stay organized and on track.Using a planner allows you to schedule each event, exam dates, mock test dates, and task so that you know what to expect and don’t run out of time. Set specific due dates and deadlines for everything to help you stay on track, and have extra time left for yourself and your family.
5) Eliminate distractions:
Identify the distractions that take up your time and try to eliminate them as much as possible. This could include turning off your phone, closing social media apps, or working in a quiet environment.
Take breaks: Regular breaks are essential for maintaining focus and productivity. Take short breaks every hour or so to stretch, take a walk, or do something fun.
Learn to say no: It’s important to know your limits and not overcommit yourself. Saying no to unimportant tasks or commitments will give you more time to focus on the things that matter most.
Review and adjust: Regularly review your schedule and adjust it as needed to reflect your changing priorities and responsibilities.
By following these tips, students can improve their time management skills and lead a more productive and balanced life.
