I'm so glad that George and the writers have all confirmed how much he loves comics, especially because we see him reading one in the first episode.

I love Comic Nerd!Edwin for so many reasons. It just feels like such a normal teenage boy thing to like, and it's an expression of how whimsical and fun he is underneath his many layers of repression and trauma.

But my favourite thing about Comic Nerd!Edwin is that it creates another innate, intuitive tie between him and Niko. Like, yes, Edwin and Charles bond over their shared interest in detectives and detective stories! But Edwin and Niko bond over their love for comics, too. And I think it's really cool that she was able to introduce him to manga, a form of comic that he was very unlikely to have been familiar with while he was alive. It really deepens their friendship and makes them feel even more like they were on the same page even before they met, which is even better because they seem to intuitively get each other in a lot of ways. This is a physical manifestation of that, something tangible they shared even before they met, and I love it.

Maybe I'm just an Edwin and Niko friendship enthusiast, but. Invisible string tying her to him, etc etc

something probably obvious that’s been eating at my brain a lot is that charles asked to go with edwin.

he’d known this boy for a couple of hours at most and had heaven itself presented to him and chose to stay with edwin. we know this.

BUT it’s important to note that charles didn’t reject heaven over an afterlife as a detective. he didn’t snub the afterlife over a sense of purpose or duty, over the promise of adventure and fulfillment. he could not possibly have known that this choice would send him down a mystery-solving path. all he knew was that he wanted to stay with edwin.

charles did not choose an afterlife as a dead boy detective in that moment. charles chose an afterlife as edwin’s best friend. in a heartbeat.

charles being obsessed with edwin's kisses after the first time - the gentle, nervous, soft kisses he'd given charles after blurted out that he figured things out - and taking every opportunity to press sweet kisses to edwin's lips, or quick pecks to his shoulder, his head, anywhere he can reach in the split seconds at a time they're left alone during cases. if they're alone, charles tends to pull edwin in by his hands and hold him close for as long as he's allowed, kissing him slowly and reverently the whole time. it takes a while for them to go any further than that, not because either of them is wary, but because they're both so caught up in their soft little kisses
