Lionesses face still needs to be actually drawn, which is the hardest part. But other than that this is pretty much ready for inking.

New year gift for a friend - a bunch of decorative homebrew buttons.

The leftmost one is like that so you could sew it on in an unusual way and make a fun pattern out of thread too.

We might paint them, still undecided about that though.

First more or less successful attempt to draw Simba for this pic. The pose still needs work, the face probably does too...

Also, turns out scaling a character by 2% is what takes it to mess up relative proprotions in a pic. Maybe even 1% but that’s where I gave up.

Uh, are the relative sizes of characters okay, or this needs more tweaks?

I’ve attended a rattle painting workshop, tried to actually apply my earlier concept sketches to paint this one. Not really satisifed with how it came out - the lion looks too much like a cheetah, but it was only 2 hours long so I didn’t have time for a pencil underpainting or anything like that.

A page of concepts for African-themed painting of maracas.

I hope to get my hands on two maracas, and paint the sun and the anthelope on one and moon and the lion on the other, so they make a contrasting but matched set.

Stylizing the moon while keeping it recognizable is tricky, I should probably iterate on it more.
