Pocket is Saying Goodbye: What You Need to Know
We’ve made the difficult decision to shut down Pocket on July 8, 2025. Thank you for being part of our journey over the years—we're proud of the impact Pocket has had for our users and communities.
This article explains everything you need to know, including how to save your content, get a refund (if you're a Premium user), and what to expect next.
When is Pocket shutting down?
Pocket will no longer be available after July 8, 2025.
You can continue using the app and browser extensions until this date. After July 8, Pocket will move into export-only mode. Users can export saves anytime until October 8, 2025, after which user data will be permanently deleted.
Why is Pocket shutting down?
Pocket has helped millions save articles and discover stories worth reading. But the way people use the web has evolved, so we’re channeling our resources into projects that better match their browsing habits and online needs.
Read more about the decision here.
A Look Back: The Legacy of Pocket
What began as a read-it-later app evolved into something much bigger. After Mozilla acquired Pocket in 2017, we invested in building our content curation and recommendation capabilities so people everywhere can discover and access high quality web content. While Pocket is shutting down, we will continue to invest in this promise—through the New Tab experience, our email newsletter, and more.
Over the past eight years, we’ve:
Expanded high-quality content recommendations to more than a dozen countries and five languages.
Connected tens of millions of people across the world with stories worth their time and attention.
Earned recognition including a Webby Award for “Best of Pocket: 2020” and an Anthem Award in 2023 for supporting local journalism.
Published hundreds of curated collections on topics from fighting algorithmic bias to rethinking happiness.
While this chapter is ending, we're deeply proud of Pocket’s impact and grateful to every reader, saver, and explorer who made it special.
Account & Saves
How to export your saved articles
You will be able to export your saved articles, including items in your list, archive, favorites, notes, and highlights, until October 8, 2025. After this date, all user accounts and data will be permanently deleted.
You can learn more about exporting your saved content here.
Do I need to delete my account to protect my data? What happens if I don’t delete it?
You don’t need to delete your account. All Pocket user data will automatically be deleted on October 8, 2025. You can export your saves anytime before then from the Pocket export page.
Refunds for Pocket Premium Subscribers
How will refunds to Premium annual subscribers be calculated?
Pocket Premium refunds will be made on a prorated basis. This means the refund will be based on how much time was left in a subscription after July 8, 2025. We’ve arranged refunds to your original payment method based on your subscription type:
Monthly subscribers
We will begin disabling automatic renewal of monthly subscriptions immediately.
You can continue to enjoy the benefits of Pocket Premium until the end of the monthly subscription period.
You will not be charged again, so no refund will be necessary.
No action is required from you.
Annual subscribers
On July 8, 2025, Annual subscriptions will be cancelled and Annual users will receive a prorated refund automatically to the original payment method.
No action is needed from you.
Pocket Apps & Extensions
What will happen to the Pocket browser extensions?
The Pocket web extensions will no longer be available to install from May 22, 2025. Anyone attempting to use the Pocket extensions from this date will be taken to the Pocket export page.
Pocket browser add ons will remain on users' browsers after Pocket shuts down on July 8, 2025. Users have to manually remove the Pocket add on from their browsers.
For more information on how to remove an add on from their browser, users should visit their browser’s support pages.
More information for Firefox users on how to remove the Pocket add on is available here.
When will the app no longer be available on app stores?
Users who have never installed the Pocket app will not be able to install it after May 22, 2025.
Users who already have the app installed will be able to re-install it up to October 8, 2025.
Users who still have the app installed on their device will need to manually delete it.
Pocket API Use
How are API users going to be impacted?
Any product that leverages Pocket’s API will no longer be able to load users’ lists, or save, tag, or delete articles.
Will API users be able to continue using Pocket after it shuts down?
API users will no longer be able to transact data (read or write) over Pocket’s API from October 8, 2025 and will need to export their data before this date.
Pocket Hits
What’s happening to Pocket Hits?
Our email newsletter, currently known as Pocket Hits, will soon be renamed “Ten Tabs”. While the name is changing, the heart of the newsletter remains the same—expertly curated, trustworthy content delivered by the same editorial team you know and enjoy, now powered by Firefox.
All readers will be notified about the update through the newsletter itself, and no action is needed to continue receiving it.
Once the transition is complete, Ten Tabs will be sent Monday through Friday. The weekend editions will be discontinued, and the once-a-week delivery option will no longer be offered. Readers on the weekly schedule will only be moved to daily (weekday) delivery if they opt in. As always, you can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of each email.

Google Podcasts is going away
Hi,
Recently, we announced that Google Podcasts is going away in 2024. In order to ease this transition, you now have access to a tool that allows you to easily migrate your show subscriptions to YouTube Music or to download a file of your show subscriptions, which you can upload to an app that supports their import.
Just like Google Podcasts, with YouTube Music you can listen to podcasts on the go using background play, download podcasts, and more – with no paid membership required.
After March 2024, users in the US will no longer be able to listen to podcasts in Google Podcasts. After June 2024, you will no longer be able to migrate or export your subscriptions.
MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS
Please note that in order to access the migration and export tools, you’ll need to be on the latest version of the Google Search and Google Podcasts apps and have a valid account type. If you are not on a supported app version, you will only be able to access migration and export tools on the web version of Google Podcasts. Users on Android and iOS apps who have not updated to the latest version by February will be automatically redirected to the web version of Google Podcasts. Some features are not available in the web version of Google Podcasts, including downloading.
If you have questions, we’re here for you. Check out our support resources.
Sincerely,
The Google Podcasts team

InVision design collaboration services shutdown
InVision Community,
Today I am writing to share that after careful consideration we have made the difficult decision to discontinue InVision's design collaboration services (including prototypes, DSM, etc) at the end of 2024. For important information, details, and guidance on next steps read our FAQs.
As you may know, our Freehand visual collaboration product was acquired by Miro earlier this fall. Miro has exciting plans for Freehand and will be communicating with Freehand customers directly moving forward.
We recognize the decision to end-of-life our design collaboration services will impact your creative process and workflows. We wanted to share our plans with ample notice so that you can plan accordingly.
In the coming months, the services you know and love will not be changing. For our Enterprise customers, our Sales team will be working with you directly to answer any questions you may have about this transition and direct you to alternative solutions, should they be required.
For our self-serve (non-Enterprise) customers, you will be able to continue using InVision until the end of 2024. However, we have discontinued our annual subscription offerings. Instead, you will be able to use the services on one of our monthly subscription options.
We understand that this announcement may be met with a spectrum of emotions, and we want to assure you that our primary focus is on making this transition as smooth as possible.
On behalf of all InVisioners, I want to convey our appreciation for the trust and support you've shown us. Your commitment to InVision has been our heartbeat for the last 12 years and we are genuinely thankful for the privilege of being part of your creative process.
We're so grateful to all of you who invested time and energy into making InVision the incredible company that it's grown to be. Together we reimagined how designers collaborate, raised the importance of design thinking, and, in the process, helped revolutionize the design industry.
And so we close this chapter with heartfelt gratitude and with the comfort that the state of the design industry is stronger than ever, leaving the InVision community in good hands.
Thank you once again,
Michael Shenkman

Discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced files
Dear Creative Cloud User,
We want to let you know about an upcoming change to your personal Creative Cloud account. Adobe is modernizing the Creative Cloud storage experience and will begin discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files on February 1, 2024.
How this may impact you:
Files saved to Creative Cloud Files folder on your computer will no longer automatically sync with assets.adobe.com.
Files that are uploaded directly to assets.adobe.com or the Creative Cloud Mobile App will not be automatically copied to your computer.
Recommended actions:
If you do not save assets to the Creative Cloud Synced files, no action is needed.
Ensure your assets are properly backed up locally or to third-party cloud storage. It is important to emphasize that there will be no change to Creative Cloud Documents functionality. You can still save files as Creative Cloud Documents via applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator; these files will remain in sync across devices.
Regards, Adobe Creative Cloud Team

Mockingbird is Shutting Down
You're receiving this email because you've had a Mockingbird account in the past.
It’s Jeremy, from Mockingbird. I am sorry to write this (and I realize that it might make some of you sad, too), but Mockingbird will be shutting down at the end of April 2023.
Aside from a few support emails and chat conversations between several of you, many might not have known that I took over Mockingbird from Saikat and Sheena in 2020. When I started running Mockingbird, I had grand plans of where I would take it. But 2020 ended up being a lot different than many of us expected, and I’ve never been able to switch to working on Mockingbird full-time as I’d hoped. It’s never made enough money for me to focus on it as a full-time business, and yet the resources (money and time) needed to support it keep growing well past what it earns and what I can provide. Also, for the best experience you deserve as a user of Mockingbird, it would be unfair to keep it limping along.
So, Mockingbird will be shutting down on April 30th, 2023.
If you have an active Mockingbird subscription, billing will cease on January 1st, 2023, and you will receive a prorated refund to your credit card soon after.
If you still had an active Mockingbird subscription on December 31st, 2022, you can continue to use Mockingbird to wrap up any on-going projects until April 30th, 2023. But we encourage you to export your projects and find an alternative product before then. You can export projects by following this help document: https://gomockingbird.com/help/articles/24/how-do-i-export-my-project-pdf-or-images.
Some simple alternatives, in a similar spirit to Mockingbird, are:
Excalidraw: https://excalidraw.com
TLDraw: https://www.tldraw.com
If you need a more comprehensive mockup solution, you might want to check out the following:
FigJam: https://www.figma.com/figjam/
MockFlow: https://www.mockflow.com/design/wireframepro/
Moqups: https://moqups.com/
We will delete all of your Mockingbird data on May 1st, 2023. If you would like to delete your account before then, you should follow the instructions in this help document: https://gomockingbird.com/help/articles/2/how-can-i-delete-my-account
If you have any questions or special needs, contact me at [email protected]. I’ll send reminder emails at the beginning of each month to remind you of the shutdown and to export your projects. If you’re not interested in receiving those, unsubscribe from those reminders here: https://email.gomockingbird.com/unsubscribe/3uJfF5C9snZcvwaz8JOVINAk5au6WgbLKpbKBSYXaHU/yb7635GwyXkffyuvecNjrE4Q/yb7635GwyXkffyuvecNjrE4Q
Thank you for supporting Mockingbird over the years. I learned a lot about myself while running the product (I’ll refrain from boring you with the details), and I hope it made getting your job done a little bit easier.
- Jeremy

Important: Stadia service to wind down in January 2023
Dear Stadia player,
On September 29, 2022, we announced that the Stadia service will be shut down on January 18, 2023. We’re getting in touch with important information on what this means for you as a Stadia player.
Availability
Stadia will remain available for gameplay until the service is shut down on January 18, 2023. During this period, you will have access to your game library, including Pro games if you had an active Pro subscription as of September 29, 2022. Be aware that publisher support for games may vary, and it’s possible that your gameplay experience may be affected during the shut-down period.
Refunds
Google is offering a refund to Stadia users for Stadia hardware purchases (Stadia Controller, Stadia Founder’s Edition, Stadia Premiere Edition, or Play and Watch with Google TV Package) made on the Google Store, and game purchases and add-on purchases made on the Stadia Store. The refund process will take some time, but we expect to have the majority of refunds processed by January 18, 2023. We expect to be able to automatically issue refunds for a substantial portion of transactions as a credit to the form of payment used to make the purchase. For purchases that we are not able to automatically refund, you will receive an email with details on how to obtain your refund.
Transactions and subscription fees
All commerce functionality (the ability to buy games, new subscriptions, add-ons or in-game purchases) on Stadia has now been disabled. Users who held an active Stadia Pro subscription as of September 29, 2022 will not be charged for access to their Pro library or other subscription entitlements during the shut-down period. Historical Stadia Pro subscription fees will not be eligible for refund.
Your Stadia account and data
You will be able to export your Stadia data, such as profile information, game stats, social data, save files and captures from Google Takeout until the Stadia service shuts down on January 18, 2023, after which point your Stadia data will be permanently deleted. You can also delete Stadia from your Google account at any time or delete your Google account entirely. Please note that deleting your Google account will result in deletion of all data and content in that account, including emails, photos, and files, and may increase the amount of time it takes to receive a refund of your Stadia purchases. Google may however retain certain data, including transaction data, for up to three years following the shut-down of the service for the purposes of processing refunds and providing customer support.
More information is available in the Help Center, which will be updated as new information becomes available.
The Stadia team

Dear Amazon Drive Customer,
Over the last 11 years, Amazon Drive has served as a secure cloud storage service for Amazon customers to back up their files. Platform D2C.io - Critical news
Critical news Hello, D2C user.
We are closing our service because of the situation in Russia.
Due to the sanctions and new restrictions of our goverment, we cannot work with Paypal and Paddle anymore. So we can't receive your payments and pay for our servers using these and other services.
We will run out of funds and will be probably blocked by AWS and DigitalOcean on March 21. Your hosts and services created/connected with D2C will keep working, but you won't be able to manage them through our website as usual. So we strongly recommend you to move your infrastructure as soon as possible.
It's a difficult decision for us, but we don't have a choice.
Thank you for your trust, and apologies for the inconveniences. D2C.io team

The Future of Krypton Is Here and It's Called Akamai MFA
I founded Krypton with the idea that strong, cryptographic authentication should be easy for everyone to use. In September 2019, Akamai acquired the Krypton technology. Since then we’ve been busy building something new: a product that stands on the giant shoulders of the Akamai Intelligent Edge Platform to take Krypton to a whole new level.
Today, I’m excited to announce Akamai MFA. It’s the future of the Krypton technology and the beginning of an innovative new authentication service that delivers phish-proof push-based multi-factor authentication, a delightful user-experience, and strong cryptography to companies across the world.
Akamai MFA is not just an authenticator, it’s a service that runs on the Akamai Intelligent Edge Platform to help you verify the identity of your users in a fast, secure, and frictionless way. Akamai MFA makes it easy to deploy the most cutting-edge authentication protection in front of any website or application and in the form factor that makes sense to you and your users.
By leveraging Krypton’s cutting-edge authenticator technology and the power and breadth of Akamai’s platform, we can finally make strong, cryptographic authentication accessible to the masses.
Read more about our product announcement and features on akamai.com/mfa.
Alex Grinman
Architect of Akamai MFA and former co-founder/CEO of Krypt.co
FAQ
Will Akamai MFA’s “unphishable” push authentication work with third-party websites like Twitter and Dropbox?
Yes! Akamai MFA will not only protect your corporate accounts, but also many of your personal accounts with the same great push-based (unphishable) authentication. This is the first push-based authenticator (besides Krypton) to offer a roaming FIDO2 cross-platform authenticator in the form factor you know and love: your smartphone. Note: Compatibility with third-party sites may vary.
What does this mean for the Krypton GitHub projects?
The Krypton GitHub repositories will transition to a community edition of the project and we invite the community to contribute and drive the direction (especially the developer tools side of the project!). For those that want to use an officially supported version of the product, please download the latest version of Akamai MFA from the App Store and Play Store.
Is there a new open-source repository?
We will create a new GitHub space and this will become the home base of our new Akamai MFA browser extension and app codebases that we will be opening in the coming months. Please stay tuned!
What does this mean for the Krypton iOS and Android apps?
First and foremost, please download Akamai MFA from the App Store and Play Store to get the latest and greatest features. Krypton will remain on the App Store for some time to give our users the opportunity to transition to the new Akamai MFA app, but it won’t be receiving additional updates as of now.
What are the important links from more information?

Brackets EOL notice
Adobe is committed to delivering exceptional software and services to our customers. It is in our nature to innovate and try new things, and it was in this spirit that we introduced Brackets, a modern open-source code editor for HTML, CSS, and Javascript, in 2014. Brackets was among the first web-based code editors, but the market has matured and other solutions have eclipsed some of the roles Brackets had focused on. As we re-focus on products that broadly provide our customers with the most value, Adobe is announcing the end of support for Brackets as of September 1, 2021.
If you would like to continue using, maintaining, and improving Brackets, you may fork the project on GitHub. Adobe will no longer contribute to the Brackets project or resolve any pull requests or issues contributed via the community on Github starting on March 1, 2021 and will archive the project from GitHub on September 1, 2021.
Through Adobe’s partnership with Microsoft, we encourage users to migrate to Visual Studio Code, a free and extensible code editor from Microsoft for macOS, Linux, and Windows. To support Brackets users and ease the transition, Visual Studio Code recently added extensions that will help Brackets users feel more at home, including adding Brackets keyboard shortcut mapping to Visual Studio Code. You can read more about migrating from Brackets to Visual Studio Code here.
All user data hosted in the extensions registry will be deleted on September 1, 2021. We encourage extension developers to download their data by clicking on the extension name before this date.
We thank our community of more than a million users and extension developers for your support.

The Next Step for Mixer
From the beginning, Mixer has been about creating the most engaging and interactive livestreaming experience. We set out to help streamers build great communities based on deep engagement with their audience. You all have been amazing throughout this journey – the Mixer community has focused on creating welcoming and inclusive communities, and you should be proud of what you have accomplished together.
Ultimately, the success of Partners and streamers on Mixer is dependent on our ability to scale the platform for them as quickly and broadly as possible. It became clear that the time needed to grow our own livestreaming community to scale was out of measure with the vision and experiences that Microsoft and Xbox want to deliver for gamers now, so we’ve decided to close the operations side of Mixer and help the community transition to a new platform. To better serve our community’s needs, we’re teaming up with Facebook to enable the Mixer community to transition to Facebook Gaming. This is a key part of a broader effort that Xbox and Facebook Gaming are embarking on, bringing new experiences and opportunities to the entire world of gaming.
The Facebook Gaming team and Creators will help expand the vision that Mixer has always held around community and building a platform that is inclusive and supportive of each other. For Mixer’s streamers, this opens up the opportunity to reach the vast audience of one of the world’s fastest growing streaming platforms. Every month, more than 700 million people play a game, watch a gaming video or interact in a gaming Group on Facebook. For Facebook Gaming’s Creators, this brings the ability to partner closely with the Xbox ecosystem, including future opportunities around Xbox Game Pass, Project xCloud and more.
Facebook Gaming is making it easy for everyone in the Mixer community to join, if they choose to do so:
Mixer Partners will be granted partner status with Facebook Gaming, and the platform will honor and match all existing Partner agreements as closely as possible. Mixer Partners will receive an update from Mixer today on how to kickoff the sign-up process. [Update: They can also visit FB.gg/Mixer on Desktop, connect their Mixer account, and follow the prompts.]
Streamers participating in Mixer’s open monetization program will be granted eligibility for the Facebook Gaming Level Up Program, where you can continue to grow and monetize your streams. Facebook Gaming will also fast-track onboarding for eligible streamers. [Update: They can also visit FB.gg/Mixer on Desktop, connect their Mixer account, and follow the prompts.]
Update: At FB.gg/Mixer, Mixer viewers can connect their Mixer account, and Facebook Gaming will show the Facebook Pages for all the available Mixer channels you follow so that you can easily follow them on Facebook. Facebook Gaming will also offer a few special welcome packs for viewers who visit from Mixer.com in the coming weeks.
We encourage all Mixer viewers to spend their remaining Embers and Sparks to help support your favorite Mixer Partners and streamers. Mixer Partners will receive double-payment for all of their earnings in the month of June – so your support of Embers, Sparks and channel subscriptions for Mixer Partners will go even further during the rest of this month.
Viewers with outstanding Ember balances, channel subscriptions or Mixer Pro subscriptions will receive Xbox Gift Card credit as a thank you for your engagement on the platform. Details on what you can expect can be found at this FAQ.
The Mixer service will continue to run through July 22, 2020. After that, Mixer.com will redirect to fb.gg, Facebook’s desktop home for gaming video, Mixer broadcasting on Xbox One will be temporarily disabled and the Mixer apps will notify or redirect viewers to continue watching their favorite streamers at Facebook Gaming.
For more details on what this means for you, check out this FAQ.
Thank you, Mixer community, for your engagement and passion on this journey. We have accomplished so much together, and we want to thank you all – Partners, streamers, moderators and viewers. And we hope to see your continued positive, welcoming and inclusive ideals continue on at Facebook Gaming.
The Next Step For Mixer FAQ
What happens with my Mixer Embers and Sparks? Will those go away?
We encourage you to spend your remaining Embers and Sparks throughout the rest of June in support of your favorite streamers on Mixer. Mixer Partners will receive double-payment for all of their earnings in the month of June – so your support of Embers, Sparks and channel subscriptions for Mixer Partners in the month of June will go even further. You will no longer be able to purchase Mixer Embers after June 30, 2020. Any unspent Embers will be converted to a promotional Xbox Gift Card credit of similar value and automatically applied to the Microsoft account associated with your Mixer account. This promotional Xbox Gift Card credit will be applied to your Microsoft account by July 31, 2020 and must be spent by September 30, 2020. Any unspent Sparks will be forfeited after July 22, 2020.
What about my Mixer channel subscriptions? What happens to them?
We will continue to offer new channel subscriptions for Mixer Partner channels through June 30, 2020. However, we will be turning off automatic renewal of channel subscriptions immediately so you will need to manually subscribe to any channels from now until the close of the service. Please also note that any new channel subscriptions will end on July 22, 2020 so you will not receive a full month of subscriber benefits. Mixer Partners will receive double-payment for all of their earnings in the month of June – so if you choose to subscribe, your support of channel subscriptions for Mixer Partners in the month of June will go even further. As a special thank you, any viewers with an active channel subscription on June 30, 2020 will receive a promotional Xbox Gift Card credit of $5 (or equivalent in your local currency) which will be automatically applied to the Microsoft account associated with your Mixer account. This promotional Xbox Gift Card credit will be applied to your Microsoft account by July 31, 2020 and must be spent by September 30, 2020.
I’m a Mixer Pro subscriber. What happens to my subscription?
Thank you for supporting Mixer! We will no longer be offering new subscriptions to Mixer Pro. As a special thank you, any active Mixer Pro subscribers as of June 22, 2020 will receive a promotional Xbox Gift Card credit of $15 (or equivalent in your local currency) which will be automatically applied to the Microsoft account associated with your Mixer account. I’m a streamer. What happens to my VODs?
You can easily access your Past Streams/VODs on your Mixer channel page until July 22, 2020. Access to Past Streams/VODs after that date will require submitting a written request. Details on this process will be coming soon. We encourage you to download and save any VODs you wish to keep prior to July 22, 2020.
Can I still apply for Mixer Partnership?
We will no longer be processing applications for Mixer Partnership. However, we encourage you to check out Facebook Gaming’s Level Up Creator Program which provides a similar opportunity for monetizing your channel. As part of the Level Up Program, you may be eligible to earn money through Stars (similar to Mixer Embers), and unlock Fan Subscriptions (similar to Mixer channel subscriptions with 70% rev share to the creator). Many of Facebook Gaming’s top partners today have come from the Level Up Program, and there’s huge potential for Mixer streamers to follow a similar path. Please find additional information at fb.gg/mixer.

Wolfram: Discontinuing Arcentry
Hi,
I've been mulling over this letter for a long time, read countless announcements from other companies to find examples, and walked my dog until she wasn't interested in walks any more (which never happens) on a quest to find inspiration - but I guess the best way is to just be open and straight forward about this: Arcentry will discontinue its public offering and will continue its life in a different role within another company.
Albeit short, Arcentry was an amazing journey. We've launched in Mid 2018, quickly grew to thousands of users, and very soon found ourselves courted by some of the largest cloud and IT companies on this planet.
We didn't take the decision to accept one of their offers lightly. Arcentry is a unique tool which showed very encouraging growth early on.
But we also had to realize that if we continued on our own, Arcentry's focus would remain on Cloud infrastructure planning and visualisation - neither of which are particular high-value use cases.
Within a larger company though, Arcentry can fulfill a much broader role and we felt that this was the best way to unleash the technology’s full potential going forward.
So what does that mean for you? First of all, it means that I'm incredibly grateful to you. Without you and our other customers we would have never gotten this far. Without our user's feedback, their willingness to overlook early teething problems and their passion to create, share, and spread Arcentry visualizations we wouldn't have stood a chance. So thank you. Thank you very much!
It also means that we will have to eventually shut Arcentry down. We will do so in 53 days, on March 20th, 2020. Until then, you still have full access to the platform and the chance to export your diagrams as JPGs, PNGs or raw JSON or CSV data. I very much urge you to do so as I'm afraid I can't guarantee that this option will be around after the 20th of March.
It also means that - if you are on one of our paid plans - your subscription has been canceled, and you can use Arcentry for free within its final days.
In the meantime, if there is anything I can help with, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
And again, thanks for having you along on this journey - it meant the world to us.
Wolfram Founder, Arcentry

Wunderlist - Join us on our new journey We’ll be with you every step of the way
As a team of over 26 nationalities, we at Wunderlist/Microsoft To Do know what it's like to move your life from one place to another. Be it a city or an app, moving can be stressful and scary – but, more importantly, exciting and refreshing. The key to a successful move is having the support to make your transition as seamless as possible, so you can focus on enjoying all the new experiences and creating new memories (or to-dos).
youtube
It's time for a new beginning
We’ve been working tirelessly to ensure our new app, Microsoft To Do, feels like a new home for your lists. We want you to be able to start planning your day and checking off those to-dos as soon as you hit that import button. Your favorite features are all in To Do – features like list groups (folders), steps (subtasks), file attachments, and sharing and task assignments. We held ourselves to a high design standard on Wunderlist, and To Do is no different. In fact, we have even more background options in To Do, so now you can color code each list to keep work separate from home.
This brings us to our important news.
When we first announced Microsoft To Do, we also announced that Wunderlist would eventually retire. We planned this so we could concentrate on building a more integrated and secure app that helps you get stuff done in a smarter way.
It's time to let you know that on May 6th, 2020, we plan to shut down Wunderlist.
Why are we doing this now? We’ve stopped releasing new features and big updates to Wunderlist, so as the app ages it’s become more difficult to maintain. As technology continues to advance, we can’t guarantee that Wunderlist will continue to work as it should, or as we’d like it to. With all our latest updates, we’re confident in To Do being the best alternative for Wunderlist now and so we believe it’s the right time to make the next move. Now, we want to dedicate all our time to growing that cross-suite experience that transforms how you achieve your goals and dreams.
What does this mean for you?
You can keep using Wunderlist while we keep supporting it. You’ll still be able to access your data – you can choose to export it, or import it into To Do. Of course, we’d love for you to continue your journey with Microsoft To Do.
After May 6th, your to-dos will no longer sync. For a period of time, you’ll still be able to import your lists into To Do. Starting today, we will no longer accept new Wunderlist sign-ups.
We know this is a lot to take in, so have a look at our FAQs for more answers to all your important questions.
Switching to To Do is a snap
If you’ve been with Wunderlist for a while, you probably keep a lot of your life in our app. You’ve planned it all – from groceries to holidays to birthday parties or maybe even your wedding. We’re here to help you pack that life up and ship it to To Do. We’ll even unpack at the other end. So, what are you waiting for? Hit that download button.
Download Microsoft To Do
You can import your lists from Wunderlist to To Do in three steps:
Download To Do on iOS, Android, Mac, or Windows. Or, open our web app.
Sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create one with your preferred email address (including Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail). Or, if you have an Xbox, Skype, or Live account, you can use that.
A pop-up will, uhh, pop up in To Do, directing you to our Wunderlist importer. Don’t see it? Find a link to the importer in your settings.
