Shipwreck

Ship wrecked in the shallows of Drosia beach in Preveza -Epirus, Greece.

Some extra info (long rant about the shipwreck's backstory):

I'm from the area and I remember this happening in 2019-2020. The wreck is in a rather bad condition despite only being there for about 5 years. I don't know much about ships but it looks to me like a small fishing or tender vessel. The story of how this went about is that one day my family and neighbours just woke up to this. This shipwreck showed up out of nowhere one winter day after a thunderstorm. No distress call, no crew or cargo in sight, no current registration documentation. They couldn't figure out who owned it or who was on it during last night. The police searched and found nothing of note. It was too expensive for the Town government to toll it so it stayed there rotting away barely out of sight from the main beach where people go for a swim. My dad's guess is that they had engine trouble in the opens and they were either carrying refugees or illegal cargo so they didn't contact the coastguard or rescue services. They drifted to Drosia beach in the dead of night with noone in the tiny Drosia settlement noticing and got out and on the run with all of the cargo before anyone came looking for them. The police didn't have the resources to investigate further. Small ships that carry illegal goods are not uncommon in our waters and So many refugee boats sunk in Greek waters every year. Just last year around 600 were lost just on a single shipwreck in the waters near Pylos. It's a tragedy that's been going on for a long time and we Greeks have the front row seats to see it. Noone seems to have died in this one at least. No bodies were discovered in the wreck or general area, or else I'll surely remember it and no signs of anything suggesting that. The thing was completely empty, whoever was on it left nothing behind. Anyways, I wanted to take a picture of it. With wrecks like that it may be possible for it to refloat on its own and drift into open waters again in a storm before sinking to the bottom. It's not completely wedged into the rocks and the hull doesn't seem to be in a too bad of a condition structurally. If the tide raises enough or if there are really rough seas you can see it shift ever so slightly. Maybe one of these days it gets unstuck from these rocks and it together with its very obscure history will be lost.

It’s Pride Month y'all!

And when it’s too hard to be proud of yourself, have a Mabel who is proud of you! Maybe Ford seems to have no problems beeing proud, but that’s just for smarts, talent and skills. Ford needs help to be proud of just beeing Ford.
