PATH CHOSEN: Investigate the Noise!

Virgil took some deep breaths to calm his quickening heartbeat, closing his hand to shut off his side of the network so that it didn't attract whatever was coming towards him. He heard rustling slightly ahead from where he was standing, and his entire body tensed up, turning his head to stare at the bushes where he had heard the sound. He closed his other hand into a fist as well, noticing that he was shaking but deciding to ignore it.

Please don't be something bad, please don't be something bad.

Then, an almost...familiar-looking man appeared, looking disheveled as he pulled himself out of the bushes. The side hid more behind the tree, letting the shadows hide him from view as he continued to watch them. They looked around, as if they sensed that he was there, and started muttering a foreign language under their breath.

Wait a minute. The realization dawned on him, pulling himself out of the shadows before he spoke, his voice hoarse from a lack of use. “You look familiar…”

“Holy shit!” They yelped, electricity crackling around their hands. “Don't sneak up on someone like that!”

Virgil did a half-smile as he watched them shake their hands to get rid of the energy, half-amused and half-surprised. There's no way they're from here. “...Sorry, I do that a lot. It's just in my nature, I guess.”

The other person raised an eyebrow. “Uh…okay. Why were you hidin’ behind a tree?” He asked, cocking his head a bit. The side just shrugged, sticking his hands in his pockets to hide his trembling, hoping that his anxiety wasn't noticeable.

“You were kind of making a lot of noise, so I thought that you were someone or something...I don't know, dangerous.” He said, guarding his expression to not show his uncertainty. The person physically cringed.

"Sorry."

Virgil bit his lip awkwardly, glancing down and letting out an annoyed huff when he noticed his stormcloud emblem glowing. Dammit. I forgot it did that. Oh well, no point in hiding it now. "Uh, you don't look like you're from around here. With the...whole magic thing." Their face shifted to a confused one, so he added on, "Magic doesn't really...exist...here. I'm not from here either, so disregard me as an example of the average person."

The man shifted his feet a bit, a strange look passing through his dark green eyes, but before Virgil could ask about it, he spoke. “Hm…that's not information that I was hoping to hear. Well…my name's Marvin.”

Marvin. Now that was familiar. His facial features, his Irish accent, and the attire he adorned matched what he'd been suspecting. Unfortunately, he couldn't just spill the sudden information he knew without scaring the man away, since he seemed mostly clueless about everything that was happening. So, he just said what he could. “...Mine’s Virgil.”

Shoot, I don't know if I'm going to be able to hide here for long. It's going the be dark soon, and I need to find some shelter. Maybe I should just confront whoever it is?

What do we do about Roman then? As much as I don't like him, we need to have the whole group back together again so that we can get back to Thomas. Who knows how he's doing with all of his sides gone...

It's still the afternoon here, from what I can tell, so that's not a worry for me. However, I don't know if I'm going to find Roman if I hold this off any longer. ~💛

Virgil, you should focus on suvival for now. We can figure out transfering items later. It is hard to think when your needs aren't met so I doubt we can overcome the barrier set up unless you find water, food, and shelter.

Janus, I'm sorry your hurting! You should see if there is any way to make yourself more comfortable. Perhaps you can help guide Roman so he can receive asks too?

I wanted to do something similar, but I wasn't sure how I wanted to execute the idea until I started writing my AU!! This AU is being called, "A Creation's Instinct", which will be further explained as I start getting asks!

Okay, yeah, that sounds about right. We don't usually experience actual pain, just phantom pain from Thomas, so...its confusing. Everything's confusing right now.

As for your question, I felt it the second I woke up, so...it probably started when I got dropped here?

Maybe it has to do with my imaginary body being crammed into a physical one...which is, ironically, making me more anxious because there could be internal injuries from that transfer that I can't see. So...in conclusion, I'm gonna die.
