i reblog whatever happens to catch my interest and occasionally post dumb stuff i have a sideblog @incorrectvtuberquotes if you're into that sort of thing home of meiling microaggression monday (usually not monday) pronouns: he/they is fine autistic, aromantic, gray ace, jewish, american. i'm a cis man but i try not to be weird about it. age: giving exact age strikes me as a bit too personal for online, but for the record i am over 18. politics: fairly progressive, but also not what i'm on here for. if i blocked you that might be why - i probably don't disagree with you so much as it's just bad for my stress levels. thank you and enjoy the show. guide to my custom tags: #nothing is cringe. everything is permitted. - posts that i feel align with my philosophy, which i summarize as this statement #girlposting - catgirls, foxgirls, dragongirls and anything else in the idiom of, say, @retroactivebakeries, or perhaps @teratocrat #always go full chuuni - we can all stand to be a little more chuuni imo #this too is yuri - self-explanatory, really #they call it baseball because it's got a ball and it's based - for when based things are happening in baseball #weapons grade miku - for miku art that i think goes particularly hard #various and sundry penor - for when there's penis

I feel like a lot of contemporary efforts to analyse the humour of Homestuck at its peak end up on completely the wrong track because they approach it as some kind of freakish anomaly, and lack the necessary context to understand the extent to which mainstream Internet humour circa 2012 was just Like That.

They made their introductions, then, each of their names more laden with high fantasy syllables than the last. Orst. Yojal. Saerenta. Mothgrinate. Andagamal. Hepatizoël. Kirajic [uncountable]-Cluster Aristromeithes. I can and will keep going. This is a threat.

they're called draconian laws because they were instituted by a cute dragon girl with cute lil horns and a big cute tail and an unbelievably harsh sense of justice
#lung chun-hua#<- while I appreciate the shoutout very much I do feel it's important to note that Sol 2300 (the world in which LCH lives) is like.#really not much like Manorpunk at all in tone or afaict in themes#I just really liked the character of Sunny#sol 2300

not plot relevant in any capacity but in 2069 Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri is considered a classic which is basically required reading for anyone interested in the American ‘pre-crisis’ period
#there's a character in Sol 2300 explicitly based on Prokhor Zakharov#to the point where I've yet to come up with a different name for him#sol 2300

if you’re going to have viziers you need to have two viziers and they need to be the following viziers:
the vizier who is cold and calculating and utterly heartless whose only concern is how best to achieve your goals and uphold your ethical principles; and
the vizier who recognizes that 100% absolute understanding of objective truth is not the optimal percentage and will lie to you, convincingly, as needed to maintain optimal conditions
having a third vizier is always inadvisable, but if you are to have one, it should be the vizier who ensures that you are aware that all things are transient and suffering is inescapable.
if you have a fourth vizier, fire them. if you persist in your folly, make this one like a sexy maid vizier, because I want this post to do numbers.
five is right out

Headcanon:
Different Hermits use different things for their inventory. The standard for players is a bag that functions basically like a Bag of Holding from DnD, a pocket space that you can look or reach into.
The most common thing to do is to customize your bag in some way: Pearl’s this season is her mailbag. False’s is her briefcase (which also contains several rivers of course). Gem has a leather coin pouch attached to her belt. Juppet has a similar felt pouch sewn onto his pants.
You can, however, redirect this pocket dimension elsewhere if you want, though it takes some finessing and can be awkward for larger objects so most people don’t bother. Cleo, notably, has their’s tucked into their open body cavity. Cub’s is in an inner pocket of his lab coat. X appears to just pull stuff from nothing because he actually has it embedded in a glove.
