Some Ness headcanons for a change, because the voices told me to do it

(TW: feels.)

- I like to imagine bro has really bad luck (bad grades, bullying at school, not having many friends, multiple injuries while playing, etc), but in spite of all he keeps his chin up and always try to have a good attitute on life

- Untreated ADHD ™

- Ever since being bit by a really creepy crawlie that snuck into his baseball glove one day, he has severe arachnophobia.

- Will run away or kill on sight any spider he sees as a result

- Is that kid who signs up to as much of the school's sport teams and practices as he can. As long as it doesn't conflict with his beloved baseball, he will try almost anything at least once

- Has a a bit of a crooked nose to the left. Result of an incident during his first day playing softball (apparently the pitcher didn't get the memo that you don't play softball with a regular baseball)

- His father told him that "he is the man of the house" while he is on business trips, and Ness takes this role VERY SERIOUSLY.

- Very protective of his mom and sister as a result

- Misses his father a lot. Not only because he misses their time together, but also because he feels overwhelmed with the role.

- Poor baby always puts too much pressure on himself

- But at the same time, he doesn't ever want to worry his mom or others of his predicament

- So much that he became a pro at masking.

- Really, sometimes this boy hides his emotions in such a way that the other kids find him unsettling sometimes, leading to never having friends

- And having selective mutism episodes never helped it either

- Despite that he still is a likeable kid, and well known around the school

- Most kids are friendly to him, he is even invited for many birthday parties, but still

- He never was anyone's first pick.

- Anyone... besides Porky, of course.

- Sure, sometimes he could be mean, and boast too much, and get them into trouble repeatedly...

- But Ness never left.

- He was sure Porky just needed a friend.

- Besides, they still had fun. They enjoyed each others company. They were the only ones who really got eachother.

- Sure Porky's demeanor would get better someday, right?

- Right?

Ok, so...

I showed a pic of Porky to my mother and explained his lore, and her FIRST take was: "Why do his parents let him walk around dressed like that?"

I asked what she meant, and she elaborated with

"If the family is so rich, why do they let their son go around with a missing suspender flap?"

"Doesn't he have other pairs to use instead?"

"And if not, can't they just go and buy new ones?"

"They have the money, don't they have a reputation to keep? Who would want for others to see their child always wearing damaged clothes"

And Y'ALL. This got me SPIRALING.

Do Porky's parents spend too much on themselves and in turn cheap out on their children?

This would actually be in character for them if you think about it. This just means the abuse runs way deeper than we thought.

Some other examples of this observation are:

-Such a big house, but the kids still have to share a room?

-Picky is portrayed with an oversized T-shirt, most likely an item he will have to grow into and use for YEARS, or maybe second hand from his brother

-Porky buys new clothes as soon as he leaves home and has his own money

I'm not saying these things are inherently bad, some like second hand clothes are completely normal, it's just scummy that Aloysius and Lardna are always spending on restaurants and other ostentatious things while seemingly neglecting their children's needs

Omg just noticed as I was typing that all the Porkybots in Mother 3 are supposed to be what Porky thinks the"perfect" version of himself should look like, and they all are well dressed with a full pair of suspenders 🥺

Some Pokey sketches I did the past few days while tryna fight off art-block, I still am fighting art-block but it’s not as bad like before.

I’ve always wanted to do an AU with Pokey but I’m still uncertain on how to start it since things are still a bit all over the place. Hopefully I can figure out how to really introduce it one day from the start, but in the meantime just have snippets of it :D

Some Porky Minch (current and future without Giygas influence) headcanons:

- Very eloquent and well spoken for a kid his age.

- Is able to sweet talk and manipulate others, specially adults, very easily

- Learned these skills to be able to traverse his harsh home life

- I can imagine he spent more time with adults than other kids (not counting his brother ofc) during his earlier life

- Probably because his parents would drag him and Picky around to many boring dinner parties and trips, just to show off "what a perfect family they are"

- They both had to be at their BEST behavior during these, or else...

- Teases his brother and Ness a lot, but it's the type to become LIVID if anyone else did that to them (((teasing is his love language I guess)))

- Sadly got some misogynistic views from his father (((good thing that in the future he upgraded to hating everyone equally I guess)))

- Got some nasty "Karen" like attitudes from his mom as well

- Can detect one's insecurities quickly and WILL use it against them

- If he had stayed in Onett and not joined Giygas, I can see him and Paula becoming SWORN ENEMIES after Ness is back (they both would hide it from Ness so he wouldn't be sad)

- Would 100% have dropped college and become a vicious loan shark

- Stayed unmarried as no one could handle this man's attitude (not that he ever needed anyone anyway)

(((I still think best scenario possible for this kid to not grow up and become horrible is if he and Ness got together lol)))
