Quoting the wrong Hamilton
A former investment banker who challenged Rep. Jerrold Nadler for his U.S. House seat and lost in the Tuesday primary confused a quote from the popular Broadway musical “Hamilton” and attributed it to the real founding father.
"As Alexander Hamilton says, ‘This is not a moment, this is the movement,’” Oliver Rosenberg said during a debate.“'Foes oppose us. We take an honest stand. We roll like Moses claiming our promised land.’ Rise up, rise up and vote.”

When Did the Art of the Compromise Die?
Among politicians these days, the usual motto is “my way or the highway”. Especially in the 2016 presidential election, it seems that there is no middle ground. Voters must choose between the craziest conservative on the face of the earth or an extreme liberal. I consider myself to be a liberal (although I’m too young to be registered with the Democratic Party), but I don’t support Hillary Clinton. I know plenty of other people, conservatives and liberals alike, who don’t like their candidate either. So if nobody likes our prospective presidential candidates, why did we nominate them? The answer is simple: we chose our candidates out of hatred. Conservatives vote for Trump because they hate Clinton more than Trump, not because they actually respect him, and vice versa. What voters need at this point is a compromise- a middle-ground candidate that people can generally agree on. Obviously there’s no way to come up with a candidate that everyone agrees with, but at the very least, I think it would be nice to have a president that isn’t hated by the majority of our country. We need someone that has a strong character, is willing to fairly evaluate the arguments of both parties, and that the people trust. Both of our current candidates have set records for unpopularity. Recent polls show that both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are disliked by a majority of voters. Now, I’m no expert, but it seems pretty clear to me that no matter what the outcome of the election is, most people are going to be angry and upset. Obviously there’s something wrong here. The people should have the opportunity to vote for someone who they trust to run our country instead of trying to choose the lesser of two evils. It’s nearly impossible to find a trustworthy, well-liked politician these days, but if there’s one out there, now is the time for him/her to step forward and save our country from this madness. Otherwise, Canada sounds pretty nice.
