WAUGH thank you!! that means a lot. ended up rambling! hehe. so it goes under the cut

bronco knight,,, the guy you are,, when first playing the game it's. the guy is pretty generic first ace attorney culprit right. so there's not a lot to care about when actually interacting with him. killed a guy over a petty reason. felt betrayed over the (fake) president not showing up when threatened by de killer. it's interesting! but i think it's only on the first replay that i could really take him in during turnabout trigger. and he's! fun. he's a jerk. he's weird about his gun (funnier in the fan translation really. also worse) he's a weird about chess. i like how he interacts with miles about it, their nice short little rivalry.

other than that his character is a very background thing. you only start picking up on it later. which i loved doing. his connection to the overall narrative made him so much more interesting to me. which is also incredibly funny? yes he haunts the narrative. yes the horse guy. the knight chess piece themed guy. with the spinny gun. guy named horse.

but. god if it isn't interesting. i think about him being so scared of his dad as a kid he'd tie up his best friend, crying all the while, and then carrying his seal with him until death. i think about his time at the orphanage and being left alone after simeon ran away. i think about reconnecting and i think about. him being excited to see simon on his show, when in prison. and i think of him thanking him for whatever simeon put in his chessboard and i think of him later being interrogated by one of the people who had to raise him and realizing that simeon set him up and i think of him not saying anything about it and dying for it. there's so much implied there! it's so fun to think about. there's so much trust and care for simeon. there's simeon's little dialogue during the captive turnabout about bronco being his best friend and not believing he could hate someone enough to kill them. the not usually winning against simeon in chess (in the. fan translation. rip). the fact that he was unknowingly working for the guy that had hurt simeon for so long. the misunderstanding with their parents and the fact that if they had talked about it things would have been different for them.

there's also the fact that in the end he didn't have anything to do with the happenings in the captive turnabout which is also so funny!! he's funny! i didn't think i'd care that much about him. one of the only characters in ace attorney i wish had lived. guy named horse.
