Been awhile since I made a craft (yay chronic fatigue) but I've been trying to clear my backlog of crafts stuff so this is from Xmas but that's not what I'm doing with it 😁

Concept sketch. ( I know, I can't draw 🤣🤷) The idea is to make it like a lil world inside the cup and the back will just be a regular cup.

Used my gouache set to paint it. I love these. Even someone with zero talent like me can make something pretty 😁

Almost done. Need to fix the body and add some final details.

Yeah we literally went to boom done 🤣

Added some detail to the background and then found some cute fruit and flowers charms. Few sprinkles and bubbles and then constructed the cup layers covered it with film and hid the seams with some stick on gems. Some large charms were the final touch.

I think it's cute 😁

I have another one of these gessoed and imma do something different for the design. The left over wood pieces went in my embellishments drawer cause I be organised 🤣

So over the last couple of weeks I used a new resin mould to make this shaker. I'm pretty proud of myself 😊

The idea was for an ff7 Cloud and Tifa shaker using resin moon and stars I also made. I ended up saving them for later and adding "materia" bubbles instead.

The final draft of my pixel figures did change much from this first one, aside from a few tweaks.

I used some fluffy clay for the buttons and even after doming with resin at the end they still feel a bit squishy which I really like. I used stickers of a forest arch and cut them up to create the background, then made a fluffy clay bomb and tonberry.

The shaker pieces are some glass bubbles in materia colours, then I covered it with acetate film and added the remainder of the sticker on top, threw in a few stars and some embellishments and covered the lot with a layer of resin to seal it all.

The back also has a load of stars and got a layer of resin to dome it.

And to finish it off I got out my bead caddy and strung together some in materia colours, topped with a star and found some pompoms in matching colours. A big ol bag chain in starry sky pattern finishes it all off.

This was a lotta work for a total noob. It's not perfect but I really love it 💕

He's all painted, varnished, sealed, details on, wings on and i even gave him an earring.

For a first attempt at something like this i think i did okay 😊

My new year's resolution is to be more arts and crafty, especially since I have £100's of stuff thanks to temu.

One of the things I loved about Forspoken was the tanta kitties. Wish they'd done more with them, but I love the designs, so I decided to try making my own one.

I planned to make it small, but somehow the armature got away from me, so it's now 4in high and 6in long.

I have a lotta cabachons so I used a couple of sunflower ones for his eyes for a neat effect. The Forspoken kitty has flowers on both sides in a line, but I wanted something a bit unique.

At first I thought I pancaked the face, but I was on twitter and this came up on my tl so now I'm like 🤷

I originally bought a mould to make the wings out of resin, but it's too small, so I got some acetate and sketched out a wing shape then used coloured resins to draw and fill it in. It's sealed with a clear resin over the top so it's light but semi rigid. I also put some iridescent pigment powder on it for a shimmer effect.

And tanta kitty is primed ready for my awful painting skills. I wasn't sure what colour he was gonna be but after finishing the wings I realised I subconsciously made the main parts orange so he's gonna be a derpy orange mess 🤣

I'm not very good at keeping track of stages. I forgot to take a pic of the orange layers on their own before I added the green.

I think it's gone well. I like it anyway, and that's all that counts 🤣

I'm gonna throw a few sparkly embellishments on and maybe try to pierce kitty's ear for an earring but I'm worried about busting his ear. Shoulda done it before baking but I didn't think of it until after. Once that's done I'll add his wings and tanta kitty will be complete!

Apparently I never updated this, not that anyone noticed 🤣🤷

I've been using these for about a year. Still love them ❤️

So I have these glass jars that I keep my tea, coffee and sugar in, and they're plain, so I decided to change that.

Masked it off and painted some orange slices, then after many many many many layers of glass paint, I got round to the lemon yellow border and gave it a coat of matt varnish to seal it all in. And I know it's a bit wonky but I like it 😁❤️

Next is tea with lemon slices and a lime border 😁

So, I had some spare time between stuff and decided to finally have a go at making a resin shaker.

Aside from slightly underfilling it with oil, this turned out perfect on the first go! I'm impressed with myself 🤣

It's hanging on my bag for now, but that's only because my niece hasn't seen it yet. I guarantee that isn't gonna be mine for long when she does 🤣

I think these small shakers are great for learning how to make them. You've got all the stages a big one has, but mini, so if it goes wrong you haven't wasted a ton of materials.

Idk if I'm just buying bad resin but my first bottle was always sticky, and my second warps a little and shrinks, but I'm still not ready to try epoxy so I'll keep trying with UV for now.

These actually came out pretty good mostly. The birds did shrink a bit so I have to hot glue them together tomorrow, and the keyring was a fail on a few parts, but the bookmark is so pretty! Too bad I made it upside down 🤣

It's okay, I turned it into a giant keyring for my spare keys. And it's so shiny and pretty I reckon it could also be a hanging charm since it's transparent and looks great in the light 😁

The birds are hanging decorations too but imma put them on my Xmas tree. Aside from the keyring fail, I think I did pretty good today 😁

Still no writing, and I put the editing on hold because pain is a thing that dominates my life 😭

So instead I decided to decorate my new dining table! It came unvarnished and had the perfect surface for drawing on, so that's what I did!

It gets better, I promise 🤣

I had an idea for a flower lion with the leaves as its mane. And yeah, I was slightly concerned I was about to fuck up my table with bad art but I really wanted to do this. It won't be just me drawing on the table, my nieces and nephews will too. I thought it'd be a fun family bonding thing for us to do and a nice family memento, plus their moms never let them draw on anything at their houses and I'm the "cool aunt" 🤣

Anyway, I gessoed the area I was gonna paint and redid the sketch. Already looks better, right?

Yup, he's pink. Yup, that's my concept design on the seat to the left. I really struggled with getting the shade of pink I wanted. I never mixed paint colours before to get a custom colour, so this was a learning experience.

Yeah, his mane is big. I tried shading the bridge of his nose lighter, but this is also something I never did before. I never really painted much and my teachers only cared about the students who were already good at art and didn't need help, so this is me learning as a go. And I'm still scared at this point I fucked up the table 🤣

This actually took me like a week to do in total, so it was a slow process of painting bits at a time, stopping to see if I liked it, trying to fix any mistakes I made and then taking another break to rest.

Oh look, he changed colour!

The lighting isn't great, but I mixed another two shades of pink, including one metallic and went over him. Don't worry, imma fix the scruffy parts, but this is a big improvement already 😁

Okay, he's a little scruffy still, but that's on purpose. He has a fluffy texture that's hard to see because of the lighting, but it looks better in person. I decided not to fuss further with the colour and blending because I knew I'd fuck up. I saw a good stopping point so I took it. The inner layer of leaves came together quick although I was worrying how I'd do the veins in them. No matter what I do with leaves they always look terrible the second I add the details.

Getting close to finished now. This was the end of last week. I went with a succulent type leaf and left off fine details. He's kinda cartoony looking so I think it works.

Adding shading and outlines in places just to tidy it up, but this is pretty much done. Pics are kinda bad, but whenever I look at it I'm happy with how cute it is, so I'm happy with the end result.

Got a tiny bit heavy handed with the sealant but this is all done! That's not coming off the table without some effort. I love the shading on his eyes and face, and I think it's a nice contrast to how simple the mane is. He looks like a happy lion and I'm happy with it ❤️

Aside from editing, I've still done zero writing, but I have a very good excuse besides being tired all the time 😭

My new less stress lifestyle regime is tackle one project at a time and hope I can stay awake long enough to finish it well. So, editing. And then when I'm done editing, it'll be more editing, only for my own WIP.

In the meantime to keep my brain from melting there's random arts projects 🤣

I forgot to take a pic when it was just the line art, but this took a while because I only did a bit at a time and it needed a few layers of paint, but I really love how this turned out! My sis wanted like a cafe style sign to go on the wall so I was limited to the colour palette in the kitchen which is orange and green. It looks nicer than y'all are thinking I swear 😂

Might make a bookmark next 😁

Still haven't written anything, although I'm hopefully getting back into some kind of routine editing without getting too tired (damn health problems), but I did find time this afternoon to play around with some of my resin set and I managed to make a cute kitty

Tried to get a patch effect by doing the ears and tail first with some white, and then mixed some fluorescent pink with a shimmer for the rest. The face is drawn on with a Sharpie, though 😂
