Ah, the hamburger. A classic American staple. There’s no wrong day to eat a hamburger but National Burger Day gives us all a great excuse to indulge a little bit. Whether you like yours classic or with a contemporary twist, there are great options in just about every city. Here are just a few of our favorites!

Baptiste & Bottle in Chicago, IL
Chef Lintelmann serves up an old fashioned burger stacked with bread and butter pickles, American cheese and remoulade. Though it might seem simple, the combination of ingredients is just right.

Ledlow in Los Angeles, CA
Ledlow's straightforward classic is topped with cheese, red, pickle, and Dijon & garlic aioli. “It’s inspired by my trips across the country eating at different short-order burger joints,” says chef Centeno. “But in the case of the Ledlow burger, it’s my meat blend and poppy seed bun that make it.”

Emily Loves Pizza in New York City, NY
Their mainstay might be pizza, but chef Matt Hyland serves up a mean burger over in Brooklyn. It’s so popular, you have to get there early to eat it. It regularly sells out! They make the 7 oz patties in-house and top them with Grafton Cheddar and caramelized onions. Drool.

Jacoby’s Just Casual in Austin, TX
Did you think we’d leave out Austin!? Never! Jacoby’s OG burger was so popular that they had to give it it’s own restaurant. Their Just Casual food truck dishes up burgers with an array of toppings from classic to exotic.

Traveling with the entire family is not easy - we won’t pretend it is - but it’s also not as daunting as we sometimes make it out to be! If the idea of packing up all the kids, getting them through the airport and reaching your destination in one piece sounds impossible, take a deep breath. We have a few suggestions that will keep your family happy, healthy and having fun no matter where you’re heading this summer!
Stay connected Modern technology has given us many gifts, and some of these can actually help make traveling with the kids a lot easier. If you’re flying, go ahead and buy the WiFi upgrade in advance - this way you don’t have to worry about getting out the credit card and troubleshooting when you’re trying to get settled. Just log everyone in and pass out the devices. Preload your iTunes playlists with the Frozen soundtrack, kid friendly apps, and make sure you download any TV show or movies you want to catch in advance. Airplane and airport WiFi connections sometimes have data limitations that will prevent you from downloading on the spot! If your trip involves a rental car, make you sure you add the WiFi fee onto your rental during the booking process (Psst - we include this perk free of charge!)
Pack wisely When it comes to packing, the best place to start is with the right vessel. If your kids are very young and you’re comfortable checking most of your luggage, put everything into a checked back or two and drop that off when you get to the airport. Carry ons can be convenient, but only if the kids can handle them on their own! You don’t want to be stuck carrying the kids and their luggage. While pricey, a Trunki can be a huge weight (literally!) off your shoulders. This little guy does triple duty as a rolling suitcase for your little one, a rideable toy and a vehicle for getting from one terminal to the other without relying on the speed of little legs! When it comes to things like diapers, wipes, formula or pumped milk, pack more than you think you’ll need for the trip. While airlines and other travel companies do their best to keep things running smoothly, there are often unforeseen circumstances that will delay your carefully laid plans. Don’t get stuck in Terminal C for an extra 8 hours with only enough supplies to get you through 2.
Limit the gear Wherever possible, try to limit what you have to bring. With the exception of the things in your carry on, if you can buy extra diapers, wipes, etc. where your going, do it! You can make a supply run when you get there and save on precious luggage space. While there likely isn’t a way to get around bringing a stroller for your littlest ones, if you do a lot of traveling it’s worth investing in a compact, easy to stow option like the gb Pocket stroller or the Mountain Buggy Nano. Both of these options are lightweight, convenient and ultra-company when folded. Most rental car companies will have infant, toddler and booster seats available for a daily rental fee - but make you sure you book these in advance to ensure that what you need is available on arrival. Of course, we realize that when you’re traveling with kids, car seats aren’t extras - they’re necessities! We’ll get you set up with child seats for no additional fee.

Finally! The arrival of spring brings with it blankets of flowers and perfect weather - the kind that inspires you to embark on a new adventure. With our roadways decorated in wildflowers, now is the perfect time to pack up the car and hit the open road. Don’t know where to start? We have a few suggestions.
“Don’t Mess With Texas” isn’t just a saying down here - it’s a way of life! The state prides itself on well kept roadways, which are now lined with gorgeous displays of bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes and a variety of other wildflowers. While there is no wrong way to experience the beauty of Texas, we’d suggest starting in Austin and heading west toward Johnson City’s Wildflower Loop. There, you’ll find gorgeous floral landscapes and countless photo opportunities. If you’re spending the weekend, crash in Fredericksburg and pay a visit to some of the wineries that have made it a hot spot for visitors.
California typically conjures up images of summer, surf and beaches - but don’t count out the beautiful drives you’ll find here during the spring. From San Francisco, head down the picturesque coastline until you reach Pacific Grove, outside Monterey. There, Lovers Point Park on 17th street is carpeted in magenta ice plants this time of year. Cap off your trip with a chocolate croissant or cream cheese danish at Pavel’s Backerei on Forest Ave. The pastries are to die for!
If your trip finds you in Los Angeles, head north to Lancaster on Route 14. Golden poppies bloom throughout the Mojave Desert region, but the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve is home to the most impressive collection of California’s state flower - plus a bouquet of other flowers that began cropping up last month.
Head east, and you’ll find the Tamiami Trail, which weaves through Florida’s western coast from Tampa through Sarasota, Fort Myers, Naples and the Everglades before finally arriving in Miami. For the most spectacular showing of these are orchids, head over to Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park—“the Amazon of North America.”
Personally, we think these views are just a little more magical through the window of an Audi A4 - but we might be biased, so don’t take our word for it!
Book with Silvercar right now and you’ll get 30% off your first drive with the code FIRST30. We’ll see you on the road - enjoy it!

I am excited to share with you today that Audi has announced their intent to acquire Silvercar. It’s no secret that Silvercar and Audi have a longstanding relationship. Heck, we’ve only ever rented Audi A4’s. The fact that Audi has taken the next step to solidify this relationship is a direct result of the support of our customers, the hard work of every single employee and the backing of our investors. I believe, as does the Silvercar team, that we are on the verge of the most profound changes in the 120-year history of modern personal transportation, and we wouldn’t dream of continuing this journey without you. Stay tuned for more choices, more convenience and an even better experience as we continue the journey we started, what seems like yesterday. On behalf of the entire Silvercar team, I sincerely thank you for embracing our brand. Together, we are changing the way the world hits the road.
Stay excited!

More festival fun is just around the corner in Palm Springs. With your LA Silvercar rental, it won’t take long to drive out to the gorgeous and kitschy Salvation Mountain. LA band The Dead Ships highly recommends this spot for an adventure off the beaten path: “Salvation Mountain in the Salton Sea [is] a collection of desert trash built into a psychedelic shrine after some dude's car broke down and he decided to stay.”
