I'm Sylvia and this is a place for my lovely, yet unhealthy Sims addiction. And Harry Potter, Avatar: TLA, Doctor Who, Teen Wolf, Once Upon a Time, and Studio Ghibli films are the bomb

Shiloh woke up to her parents' muffled, arguing voices.
"...we're going to have to talk about it sooner or later, Stephen! I don't care if she doesn't want to talk about it; the world doesn't revolve around her, and neither should you. Why are you always defending her and--"
"You guys are always giving each other hell, and it needs to stop. It's been five years! When will either of you just give a goddamn apology? I--"
"Stop trying to change the topic. Our relationship is just str-- stop! We were talking about Appaloosa Plains. Now are we going to talk about this move as a family or will I have to..."
She just wanted it to stop: all the arguing every morning, all the angry side glances over dinner, all the nagging after coming home late at night -- everything. She buried her face into her pillow. If only there was a way she could really tick her mom off...and at the same time explain her own point of view without an argument. She needed to think of something creative, something that--
Shiloh sat up abruptly. Yes. No. Whatever, yes!
She scrambled to put an outfit on and stumbled onto the porch. She noticed that the paper had not been delivered yet, and sighed of relief. Now all she had to do was wait.
Ugh, where are you, Roy?

You've got to be kidding me.
"Roy?"
He stepped towards her. "Wait... Shiloh?"
She put her hands up. "I-- look, this is a total coincidence. I'm not stalking you or anything, I swear to--"
Roy chuckled. "It's all good. This is pretty weird, but, uh, yeah..."
Shiloh raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know you were the paper boy. And by the way, you're wearing the exact same outfit from last night, which is also pretty weird, to be honest."
Roy scratched the back of his head and said, "Yeah, I'm still trying to write a super-mega-awesome article to show to my boss for a promotion to a desk job, or at least an office assistant." He paused and cracked a half-smile. "And don't judge, I just didn't have time to go home to change out of this uniform!"
She smiled. "Alright, so you're not a rat. Anyways, I was going to tell you to stop throwing the paper into our flowers before my mom catches you one morning," she warned. "And it becomes your last morning."
Roy barked out a laugh. "I'll keep that in mind. Anyways, I have a job to get to. See you around."

Shiloh entered the kitchen early next morning to see her parents already eating breakfast at the table.
"Hey, I'm eating out with Carla today. I won't be back 'til around seven," she awkwardly blurted, interrupting her parents' conversation.
Just as her mother turned and opened her mouth to spit fire at Shiloh's words, her father beat her to the chase. "Alright, but bring the newspaper in first. And if you happen to catch the paper boy, remind him not to throw it into your mother's flowers again," he said casually.
Shiloh grinned gratefully. "No problem."
And she stepped out onto the porch, she noticed a fresh copy of the morning paper nestled between a couple of lilies and a figure walking back to his van.
"Hey! Wait! Paper boy! Oi!"
The figure turned his head.
She furrowed her brows. Is that...?

"Hey, I gotta go." Shiloh gestured to Carla waiting by the car behind her. "Nice meeting you though."
"Roy." He gave her another half-grin as he stuck out his hand.
"Shiloh," she smiled back as she shook his hand.
When she got to the car, Carla snapped her fingers at her. "Get in! You know how your mom gets about your curfew! We're already two goddamn hours late!"
Shiloh groaned. I'm screwed.

"Shiloh, look! Hogan's Deep-Fried Diner is having an eating contest... wanna go watch?"
Shiloh groaned and clutched her stomach. God, this stupid contest thing was a mistake.
"The winner, with a time of 33 minutes and 48 seconds, is... Shiloh Caulfield!"
She stumbled out of the diner with one hand on her stomach and the other on the wall.
"Whoa, whoa, hey! I think you dropped something," an unfamiliar voice called out from behind her.
She turned around and followed to where the stranger's finger was pointing. Shiloh recognized the worn outline of her wallet and snatched it up. "Thanks," she groaned as she picked herself off the ground.
"Don't remember me, huh?" The stranger prodded.
She furrowed her brows and focused on the man's face. He looked young, around her age, with bright red hair and freckles sprinkled over the bridge of his nose and cheekbones. His strong jaw reminded her of her brother.
"Oh, oh yeah! You were the runner up of the contest," she recalled.
"Yeah, I came to congratulate you." He gave her a half-grin. "I don't really know too many people with an appetite bigger than mine."

"And they want me to move to Appaloosa Plains with them! Like, did they not think to tell their own daughter that they were going to move halfway across the planet?!"
Carla rolled her eyes. "Halfway across the country. And to be honest, I think we both know someone that left for the other side of the planet with hardly a second's notice." She eyed Shiloh pointedly.
"Okay, well, whatever. Maybe I shouldn't have come back. You know I have way too many issues with my mom," Shiloh muttered.
"Hey, what the hell? It's your first night back, right? Get out and have some fun, dumbass. I can't have you running back to London again because things got boring."
"Ugh, whyyy..."
"Okay, no. Dude, listen, tomorrow, I'm going to show you everything you missed around here for the past five years. It's going to get your mind off things, I promise." Carla shot Shiloh with a winning smile.
Whatever. "Fine."

...until school ends and summer starts.
That's right, I'm taking a good 1-2 month break from simblr because I literally can't find any goddamn time to open up my game (because yaknow, school). I might pop in once in a while, post a random picture or whatever, but other than that, I doubt I'll have much time to come on :(
Well, see you all in a month (ish)! (:

A shout rang through the hallway. "Asmara, could you go get that?"
Asmara furrowed her eyebrows and stood up. "Allie, who is that?!"
"I ordered pizza! I'll pay when I get out—"
She crossed her arms and groaned. "Pizza for breakfast?! I set out some bread and jam already! Oh my God, I thought you were sleeping, too! When the hell did you order pizza?!"
A shrilly yell pounded at Asmara's eardrums. "ASMARA, JUST GET THE FREAKIN' DOOR ALREADY!"

Asmara woke up at the crack of dawn. She tiptoed (as to not wake up her roommate, Allie) into the kitchen to make herself a cup of coffee. After setting out some bread and jam as breakfast for Allie, she settled down at the dining table with her coffee, its tendrils of smoke tickling her chin. Asmara munched at one of the two cookies she balanced on the cup saucer, dazing off as she mindlessly stared out the kitchen window.
A sudden ring of the doorbell jolted Asmara to her senses. Who the hell could that be? It's almost freakin' 7 in the morning, goddammit.

Another hour passed. Asmara was deep into Chapter 23 of her abnormally huge textbook when she heard the loud scraping sound of wood on wood three feet away. She glanced up to see the boy stand up and gather his books, ready to go.
He looked at her, and after a moment of hesitation, murmured, "Bye."
She nodded. "Bye."
The corner of his mouth twitched up, forming a half smile. He turned and left.

"Uhhh, hey..."
She raised her head and opened her eyes, blinking rapidly. "Hmm?"
"Sorry, didn't want to bother you, but um... are you okay?"
Oh. Blond guy. Almost forgot about him.
Asmara rubbed her eyes and nodded. "Yeah, I'm good. It's—it's just school, you know?"
"Ah, yeah."

Asmara watched as he set his books down and made himself comfortable in his new seat. She noticed that he was wearing a barely visible red beanie that was buried in the thick waves of his blond curls. After a few seconds, she had lost interest in the new stranger and proceeded to go back to trying to sooth her headache by, once again, pressing her fingers around her head.
A relaxing silence followed for the next few minutes, only interrupted by an occasional flip of a page and the blond boy often clearing his throat.
