Ace x GN Reader SFW AU -If Ace had come back from Marineford. Prompt: Whispering ''i love you'' in-between kisses Word Count:

You sobbed when you saw him return to the ship, you flung your arms around his neck, nuzzling the crook of his neck and holding him so tightly. Ace wasn’t any better, tears made lines down his dirty cheeks as his arms wrapped around you, pulling you against him.

Crying until your chest hurt, your throat was sore, you felt your knees tremble, maybe it was his, you couldn’t tell but you both sank to the floor, crying and holding one another close. You’d never been this terrified in your life, not even the rough seas, the monsters that dwelled below the waves.

Nothing had scared you like the thought of losing the man in front of you. You whimpered, trying to fight the tears that rolled down your own cheeks. You cupped his face, your thumbs trying to brush away his tears, rub the dirt away so you could see his cute freckles.

Ace smiled softly, the tenderness in your touches, the fact you’d missed him, been worried for him, he felt loved, he felt like his life meant something to other people, to you. He leaned forward and kissed you. “I love you”

You kissed back, feeling his hands on your shoulders, a firm grip of reassurance. “I love you” Ace said again kissing your cheek, kissing away the tears before doing the same on the other side “I love you” He kept repeating like a prayer

Pulling away from his kisses you tried to give him a smile, your hands finding his, feeling the little cuts on his palms, you tried to be gentle. You nuzzled your nose against his, eyes closed “I love you too Ace”
