To everyone’s misfortune, he’d survived falling on that damn kitchen knife. Hurt, he was, most definitely, and it’s said he probably woulda died if it hadn’t been for all the hate in his heart. Ewells were like cockroaches though; living outta pure spite at the end of the day, and good lord was Bob a spiteful man if ever I’d met.

Such a thing was only proven again in that following year’s Summer. That was the first time I’d seen my father as nothing more than an ordinary man. Inspired by reading ABCs of Atticus Finch on Tumblr last night by user @/cowboy-lover69 (what a name 😅). Here’s my take + regarding my TKAM OC, aka Atticus’s second wife.

Important to Note: I hc that Atticus has, let’s just say, ~trauma~ in regards to women; hence him taking so long to settle and marry. Beth also has trauma akin to that of what *actually* happened between Bob and Mayella Ewell in TKAM (if you catch my drift).

So ig warnings for mentions of SA. Nothing detailed. Just general trauma-bonding.

Oh, and Bob Ewell survives in my TKAM universe. Because plot <3
