i think you can recognize that the usage of ai by students of all grades and all around the world to cheat through their assignments is not a personal moral failing but just yet another symptom of the mechanistic if not, at this point, basically dehumanized processes of our education systems which are nowadays almost solely focused on demanding production from students and churning out degrees required for jobs while ignoring any tangible verification of their actual knowledge, intellectual development and critical thinking skills, much less their mental health, while also pointing out that using ai to write your essay isn't a power move to cheat a flawed system, it is behaving exactly as the system designed, it is cheating yourself by giving up your ability to speak, think for and challenge yourself and bowing your head to powers who will only benefit from not being questioned, and the only reason text genai is so widespread right now is because it was born on the perfect breeding ground that is anti intellectualism

I don’t get the ship wars on Severance because I root both for MarkHelly AND MarkGemma and I think that’s kind of the point? Being kind of/very conflicted about the last scene and then realizing it’s a meta-commentary on how even we, as an audience, can also buy into the idea that the innie’s lives are inherently lesser than and just a vehicle, and that’s why we didn’t even consider iMark’s feelings and uncertainties about the whole rescuing-Gemma and reintegration plan?

Isn’t the point of MarkHelly/MarkGemma that both iMark’s and oMark’s feelings are real and pure and true and so we don’t have a clear sign about who we should root for?

So. I don't mean to offend anybody but Rachel Zegler is courageous and brave in a way that I'm not sure I would be at 23 years old with my career on the line. She tweeted 'Free Palestine' on her personal account and now she is being blamed/made the scapegoat for why the Snow White movie is not doing as well as Disney predicted.

For context: Gal Gadot (of "let's sing 'Imagine' to healthworkers-fame and 'I'm proud to have served in the 1DF' fame) plays the evil Queen.

Also for context: the producer, Marc Platt, flew across the country to reprimand a 23 year old for making said tweet. He asked her to delete it. She did not. Now Marc's son has taken to social media to "expose" Rachel's selfishness. They strongly believe her tweet is hurting the box office and jobs. The movie is done. There are no more jobs or employment. Producers get a cut from box office earnings. So all they really had to say was, "Rachel's tweet is costing my father and my family money! Take it down!"

Anyways. She didn't. And hasn't.

Good for her. The absolute balls of steel tbh.

The cold harbor scene is so compelling to me because like. Love does not transcend severance. At least not in the way Lumon is thinking about love. But humanity does.

Lumon has been working to create this smoothed-out emotionless product to market to the world, this Gemma who has been refined out of all her “tempers”. A medical company trying to create the ultimate opioid. We can guarantee YOU never have to feel pain again, just please don’t worry about the other version of you that only exists to feel the pain.

But this version of Gemma that has only been alive a few minutes still chooses to leave the room with the strange man covered in blood, despite her supposed “refinement”. Because notably, innies are NOT a product. They’re not an AI trained to do their programmers bidding. They are human, and that’s Lumon’s downfall: Humanity’s innate desire to seek connection. This man is clearly terrifying to her, but he looks at her with love in his eyes and holds out his hand to her. Despite the voice on the loudspeaker, (which is all she knows so far of life) warning her to stay, she goes with him. A human being is always going to take the outstretched hand over the disembodied voice.

Because Helly stole Milchick's walkie talkie and trapped him, giving Mark the opportunity to escape. Because Dylan got back to the severed floor and saw some shit going down and without question threw his body on the line too. Because Lorne was exhausted watching her beloved goats sacrificed to the corporate machine and wasn't willing to stand by and watch Drummond kill one of their own. Because the entire Choreography and Merriment department responded to Helly pleading for help in a scene straight out of Norma Rae

It's been a long time since I've wanted to come up with a clothing set for kiddos, the one that is going to match the stuff I convert for adults... And I finally did it!

So, since this set is really simple, some tees + classic jeans, etc, I didn't feel the need to convert these items since some very good examples already existed: so basically it's a re-texture set! 🐛

What you need to keep in mind is that the baseball cap and beanie textures are repositoried to AF so you require those! And that they won't really work with every single hairstyle, but I did my best to adjust them. 🦝

Sooo, autumn is already here, right? Right? Well, September is in a few days and summer and I are no longer on good terms ('cause of the unbearable temperatures) so autumn it is! 🦔 And our simmies need some cool outwear, right? Whether they're going trick or treatin' or simply strolling through Downtown and getting a pumpkin spice latte, their outfits should be on point. 🍂

The hat works pretty well with most hairstyles, especially the straight hair ones and there's almost no clipping, but unfortunately it won't work with every hairstyle!

There's some minor clipping with the coat when the sims sit down, but it didn't seem like too much of a big deal. 🐸

I have thoroughly play-tested the items and haven't noticed any major issues with clipping, but if something occurs please let me know and i will do my best to fix it! ♥

sooooooooooooo many things to scream about tonight but number one on the list is the difference in the ways dylan and mark's outies talked to their innies. from the get-go mark scout is nothing but patronizing to mark s. he created mark s as an escape from his grief, and now he wants to use mark s as a means to an end to save his wife and pick up his life where he abandoned it. he gets helly's name wrong and calls her 'the person you're seeing' because he doesn't recognize mark s's humanity. he sees mark s as an extension of himself, and he only loves gemma, so of course whatever mark s feels for helly can't be real or worth fighting for. and when mark s understandably doesn't see it his way, mark scout lashes out, calling mark s a child.

but then you have the letter dylan george wrote to dylan g. in three paragraphs dylan george talks to his innie like an adult, like they are peers. he's angry at dylan g, but at the same time, he understands why dylan g did what he did. he would have done the same if he were in dylan g's place. after years of being jealous of his outie, dylan g learns that his outie thinks he (dylan g) is the one to emulate, the self-assured badass. and where helena and mark scout made their innie's decisions for them ("i am a person. you are not.") dylan george breaks the cycle: he offers his opinion, but ultimately puts the decision back in dylan g's hands.

at the end of this season, dylan g is gifted agency. and after fulfilling his purpose, mark s steals his agency back.

so gemma was orpheus all along. when she looked back, called mark’s name, and asked him to come home.. innie mark realized he had no feelings for this woman. if she had stayed facing forward maybe the allegiance to his outie would have won out. but gemma turning around made him hesitate long enough for helly to appear. and when she called his name.. it was game over. eurydice embraced the underworld with open arms.
