My dear lgbt+ kids,
There are so many people who love you.
I don't necessarily mean the friends or partners you may have (even though that's important, too: yes, they love you! They're not faking it, they do not secretly hate you! They want to be part of your life.).
There are complete strangers who love you. Who are willing to fight for you. Who want to make the world a better, safer place for you. Who feel a lot of love for you and our whole community.
There are a lot of bad things out there, I know. People who prove their negative feelings for us again and again. It's easy to look at them and forgot to turn around and look at the loving ones. The ones who stand up for us, stand next to us. Who get loud for us, vote for us, defend us, cheer us on, cheer us up. Not because they know us personally- but because they know we are human and deserve our human rights.
Never forget that those people exist. It's not you against the world - so many people all over the world are on your side.
With all my love,
Your Tumblr Dad

I agree that nonbinary people are trans. I'm talking about bisexuals attracted to all genders acting like you're the "core" and trying to marginalize bisexuals attracted to men and women like your bigoted biphobic banner does.
Once again, literally anyone who experiences attraction to people has the potential to be attracted to people who aren't cis or binary. That applies even if your attraction is strictly to people you perceive as men or women- because surprise surprise, people who are men, women, or nonbinary can look like anything. Come into my inbox with this T/ERF-lite shit again and you'll get blocked. Or block me yourself if you really have that much of an issue with other bisexuals not being trans-exclusionary. We're not marginalizing you by understanding how nuanced attraction is. 💀

Not surprised you focused on the trans part and basically ignored the nonbinary part. Stay mad that you're not the core of the bisexual community.
Nonbinary people are trans though? Literally wth are you talking about.

Since it’s been asked:
September: Bi Month
Sep 23: Bi Visibility Day, sometimes called Bi Pride Day/Celebrate Bisexuality Day. Bi Week’s dates vary based on when this falls.
March: Bi Health Month

Bisexuality by default includes trans and nonbinary people? So bisexuals who are attracted to both of those kinds of people are the default and bisexuals who are attracted to one or neither of them are some kind of deviation? Do you not see how offensive that is to other kinds of bisexual to make your own version of bisexuality the default version?
Sorry I've been dead on here for some time (health issues will do that), but while I don't normally engage with bad-faith asks anymore I figured this would be a perfect time to pop back in and remind y'all where I stand.
In short, it's not offensive because of how attraction works. Anyone who feels attraction to other people, bi or otherwise, can be attracted to trans people. Trans people are not a monolith and do not all look a certain way, and how they are perceived can vary from person to person. There are trans men who are visually indistinguishable from cis men and others who are visually indistinguishable from cis women. There are trans women who are visually indistinguishable from cis women and others who are visually indistinguishable from cis men. There are nonbinary people who look cis and others who look trans.
Therefore, even if you are attracted only to people you perceive as cis, the possibility of being attracted to trans people is always there because you cannot clock every single trans person. Furthermore, your perception of them does not invalidate their identity if it misgenders them in some way- their identity is their truth, and ultimately your own reading of how you perceive them has no bearing on who they are.
So yes, the definition I use is the default, because anyone who feels attraction can be attracted to trans people thanks to transness not having a uniform look. Attraction is very much nuanced in regard to the full scale of gender and presentation. Hope that helps.

“THE BIG CHILL: HOW HETEROSEXUALS ARE COPING WITH AIDS,” Time (@time), February 16, 1987. . In its issue dated February 16, 1987, thirty years ago today, Time magazine reported on the increased understanding of the AIDS epidemic’s reach. “At first,” the piece explained, “AIDS seemed an affliction of drug addicts and especially of homosexuals, a ‘gay disease.’ No longer. The numbers as yet are small, but AIDS is a growing threat to the heterosexual population. Straight men and women in some cases do not believe it, in some cases do not want to believe it. But barring the development of a vaccine, swingers of all persuasions may sooner or later be faced with the reality of a new era of sexual caution and restraint.” . “It’s very hard for straight people to understand what the hell this is,” Harvey Fierstein (@theharveyfierstein) said. “The ugliness of the disease is that every stranger has it; everyone you like doesn’t have it.” . While Time’s article is notable in a number of respects, it is perhaps most interesting in that it provides an early example of the biphobic narrative that accompanied the AIDS crisis. . “Active bisexuals,” the piece explained, “are one route of viral transmission to the female population…Dooley Worth, a leader of a Manhattan discussion group for women exposed to AIDS, says men do not like to admit their bisexuality: ‘If a relationship is really rotten,’ she advises the group, ‘change the assumption that there is another woman. It may be a man.’” . “The problem of bisexuality,” Time continued, “is especially poignant in the world of the arts and entertainment…Virtually every arts institution has suffered its losses, and the community is on guard. ‘Anyone who’s dating in the fashion community worries,’ says a lingerie with the Ford agency. ‘You just don’t know.’” . This type of coverage of the “bisexual problem” contributed to a broad cultural awareness of bisexuality that had not existed before; plainly, however, the increased awareness came with a negative association. In response to this growing biphobia, bi-identity activists emerged in greater numbers and with greater strength than ever before. #lgbthistory #HavePrideInHistory

I just made a post about the end of pride month. It's July now, so happy disability pride month to my fellow disabled people!
Friendly reminders to able bodied people
Don't tell disabled people how to refer to themselves
Listen to them when and how they refer to their disabilities
You don't need to know why someone is disabled
This includes if they have a service dog, you may ask what tasks the dog performs if you are a business owner. Not what disabilities they have.
Also, in the US there are no "service dog cards/papers"
It's illegal to refuse service to someone because of a disability
If you know someone who is disabled questions are fine as long as you are respectful. We love to educate.
Slurs are never acceptable if they don't apply to you (you wouldn't use a racial slur don't use one about disabilities either)
Don't make jokes based around disabled people stereotypes. It's not funny.
Not all disabilities are visible!
I know you mean well but you do not know what it feels like, please do not tell disabled people you do.
When we say we are tired and you are also tired, we do not mean the same thing.
Abilism isn't funny, it causes so much harm and discrimination please don't be abilist.
Reminders for my fellow disabled people
You are valid no matter what.
You are allowed to have good days and still be disabled.
You are allowed to have bad days and need extra help or more time to rest.
With that you are allowed to take days to rest.
You know your limits, please follow them and don't harm yourself.
You are not an inconvenience!
Please remember to take your meds, they are important
Don't stop taking your meds without consulting with a doctor (unless they are doing horrible things, even then please contact your provider)
Also doctors who don't listen suck, we've all been there and we feel you.
You are not faking for attention no matter how much your brain tells you that
Sometimes you can't always look on the bright side. It's okay to recognize the negative as long as you don't let that take over.
Asking for help is good and doesn't bother people. And if it does those aren't people you should have in your life.
If a mobility aid will help you then use whatever will help you
Your problems are "bad enough" and valid. Don't compare yourself to other people and if you need help then get it.
You do not need to be absolutely horrible to get help.
If your diagnosis came as relief that is perfectly fine, knowing there's a cause for your problem and now having ways to manage it is wonderful.
If your diagnosis did not come as a relief that is perfectly fine as well. It's terrifying and soul crushing sometimes getting diagnosed and realizing you're going to deal with this forever. You're not alone.
You know your body better than anyone else. Listen to yourself and what your body needs.
You got this, you aren't alone. Mental and physical disabilities suck but be proud of them.
You live with them everyday and you're still here, you're still fighting. You're so strong.
