The 1st person will be your puppy love person. New love. Young love. Naive Love. Fairytale love. Head over heels love. & If you’re lucky like I was, you’ll end up with someone gentle and kind to share your firsts with. This love is made of innocence and magic, but it’s very rarely a love that’s meant to linger. It’s one you’ll never forget. They are someone you will never forget. The 2nd person…This love… This is supposed to be your hard love. I think that before we come to Earth we make agreements with other souls. They agree to hurt us to help us grow, and we agree to do the same to them the next time around. We fall madly in love with someone who is all wrong for us, or who treats us unkindly. It’s a rollercoaster kind of love, with all it’s highs and lows.  Here’s the catch though, girl…. This love is meant to teach you a lesson. Recognizing your own self worth, learning to let go, overcoming abuse, learning to leave, personal growth … whatever it may be… If you don’t learn the lesson you’ll be destined to repeat the same type of relationship over. You’ll end up stuck in a loop of hard love relationships. So while you may have more than 3 people walk into your life, they’ll most likely fall into this ‘lessons’ kind of love category. & That is perfectly okay. Growth takes time. Getting it right takes multiple tries, and loving yourself takes a lot of work.

Your last love. Your person. Hugging your person will feel like coming home. Their heartbeat against your chest will turn all the lights in your soul on. Holding their hand will leave you feeling like electricity is escaping from your fingertips, and kissing them will leave you with an empty belly for days because nothing could ever taste as sweet. Their words could never do anything other than piece you back together & their silence will make you feel so full. The kind of love that doesn’t give you anxiety. This love exists. This love is real, attainable, and so terrifying that people tend to flee from it. Your most important love. Your most important love will be yourself. The way people talk to themselves… the way I’ve always talked to myself… it’s abuse. We say terrible things to ourselves that we would never dare say to anyone else. We abuse ourselves daily. & We love ourselves in such bullshit conditional ways. You are so unbelievably worthy of love right now, in this moment, just the way you are. I swear it. As far as I can tell with my 26 years of life, learning to love yourself takes a whole lot of time… a whole lot. It’s possible though. & On days when you don’t think you could possibly love yourself, know that I love you. It’s not the same, but knowing that others can see your worth can help you to see your own.  That’s it. Some words about love inspired by Valentines’s Day. ♥ I don’t even really like Valentine’s Day, but I do love you.
