Tarhos looked at the picture with a mix of light glee and dreaminess, and then shrugged, answering the question:
"Well, they shalt be not far from the bonfire. Follow the munching sound or giggling. Very loud giggling, so to say. And I thank thee once more, the desire of mine to witness ruins on fire may be unholy, alas, naught couldst stop it building up inside of me. I am pretty sure Her Highness might as well enjoy such art. Try not spoiling thine bag with muck, for this realm, resembling time itself, seemeth not tolerant to the colours as bright... the brightest art usually the flames, yet flames tend to fade overtime... just like all of us."
from across the fog a large portal opens, the insides comparable to a kaleidoscope you could find at any self respecting tourist trap. Out of said portal scampers what looks to be a blue imp that smells of cheap synthetic strawberry perfume and crayon wax. Heaving and panting like a feral dog, it stops before the Hungarian homie before smiling manically. Shark like teeth, sickly green in a similar hue as the magic that summons each of his guards. Their crazed eyes meet what they assume is his, really they’re just staring up at his armored head while holding a piece of paper.
“I DOODLED YOU SOMETHING AND I HAVE A QUESTION”
Before he could properly respond they quickly hold up a sheet of printer paper and what looks to be figured scribbled in…black crayon.
“Hypothetically if I were to make more of these in exchange for going on a date with one of your guards, how many would I have to make?!”
they look insane but determined
"Ah, fellow artist of this Pandaemonium... What a remarkable feat... rarely I wouldst smile... But this is something so pure and warm it couldst burn entire kingdoms to dust. I thank thee. And... I assume thou shalt uh... spend thy time with any of my faithful outside of trials and their duty. Just, please, one more work of art to feed pleasant thoughts..."

you know-
Yeah being a jester sounds funny as hell
also what do you call a medieval spy?
Sir Veilance
Tarhos, although he didn't know the meaning of the word "surveillance", chuckled anyway, maybe because "veil" triggered another spy-related association in his mind.
"Quite hilarious indeed, I must admit... Durkos, for example, truly couldst be called a sir of veil."

I believe I have found a bunny that would like to accompany you

"How did thee dub me!? Now I shalt... haud on... hmmm... I hath nev'r thought about it this way... actually... indeed, this helm of mine is shaped like pigeon's neck... hilarious point. Do thou hath a wish to join me as a court jester? We need one for sure amidst this desolate soil. As for the rabbit... I am surely not even surprised. This damned realm is nightmarishly versatile in its creations."

the same familiar pale figure approaches the three guardsmen, a kind smile on his face.
"hey boys!!! it's good to see you again! been on any cool adventures lately?"
the man looks far more put together than he did in the past; everything about him seems neater, and he seems a bit less troubled than he used to. he feels a bit of warmth being around his old friends; he breathes in, and out, and feels alive again.
The faithful three, sitting near the campfire, greeted Vincent, too.
Sander looked jovial, chewing a chicken leg.
Oi, mate, we'z been doin' good. Just da big spider in da sky brought some bugeyes and metal gitz 'ere, so gotta stay aware. Who knows what deze new 'fings are up to?
Durkos nodded:
Indeed, we encountered some unknown wretched beings lately. A black beast with foul blood and, I do believe, an unholy amalgamation of man and metal. Otherwise, our crusades art resounding successes.
Alejandro was grinning, as always.
Our morale is high, and although we hath not found copious permanent allies throughout the realm yet, we possess what most others don't: battle brethren! Am I right, men?

"hello mister! long time no see!!!"
a tall, frail-looking man walks through a wall into your quarters. his long, white hair is somewhat orderly, and his plain button-down shirt is free of any grisly stains. vincent smiles, stretching his arms, as if he's just woken up from a deep sleep.
"how've you been?"
Tarhos was even somewhat relieved to see Vincent after all this long time. Although The Knight was looking tired and bitter, something in his eyes showed a hint of joy in seeing a familiar soul in the realm.
"Ah, Vincent... long time no see indeed. If thou couldst imagine how surprisingly relieved one couldst be upon discovering an old memory or meeting a familiar good fellowe. Tis indeed a dark age, and even though still naught can daunt me, I cannot help but feel this despair more and more in the air... Souls come and go, some pleasant, which is unfortunate... some art not... which one may call a good riddance, yet... after all known turn'd to dust... tis awaiting the unknown which may worm mind of mine foremost. Alas... So, if thou art willing to stay for a while, just cherish this moment."

how do you justify ‘historical accuracy’ when you use broken medieval english for a hungarian man who was raised in italy
Community-accepted headcanon "Entity's omnispeak", all understand each other, yet the manner still remains. I bet someone who plays as Adiris also speaks pompously, using old and/or ecclesiastical English, for example. Also, many other non-English speaker character muns I have seen use "Entity's omnispeak".

I haven't sent asks in ages-
Hello Sir Kovacs jts me Puppet the annoying flashlight guy
Just wanted to make yours (and the writer of this blogs) day brighter with a random picture I found.
Its just wholesome to me. What do you and the faithful 3 think of it

"I thank thee, o daring lamb of Entity, for this pict invokes bright memories in us. Yes, ironically enough, when I first witnessed it, thoughts of mine hath been on the ones being sacrificed, just for the mere moment. Latter thoughts were of peace and innocence me and my men never long'd to feel throughout our lives. Deep down inside, 'tis charming... however, our twisted minds got too used to arts of tragedy and ruin."

I don't think you hear it often but I'm grateful for your effort for the blog and fandom, i don't see many people appreciating the knight as much as you do and I'm happy about it. I'm sorry that I say this as anon but I'm too shy to talk without it
Oh wow... that is a really pleasant surprise to see, and all I can say is that I am gr8ful as well that you m8s still support me and don't leave this blog forgotten despite all the drama we've been through. And no worries, I'm here for y'all and I can understand you =)
You know, lemme tell you something. I've seen a lot of gr8, based and creative blogs, the ones to draw inspiration from, yet all abandoned. And it really hurts me sometimes that I can no longer interact with them. So for that very reason, I always spare some time, albeit l8 at night like now or amidst work to check me inbox. Also I rarely ignore people, only in most nuisance and toxic cases. I do hope that one day I may finally find interactions that I was looking for and be a somewhat reliable part of the community, the one you can return to after maybe even years.
Thanks for your support again. Have a lovely day, anon =D

May I touch or braid your hair sir? I promise I'll be gentle
Tarhos sighed, taking off his helmet and looking at the state of his hair, all messy and dirty.
"I shalt be grateful. Although thou might regret that considering its condition. Bloody Gehenna I had copious amounts of trials since I last washed my hair..."

A really sad fact is that many people in the fandom complain about Tarhos's gameplay calling it ugly or things like this, when playing him the only thing I notice is that it is hard. Because you need to use a lot of logic and strategy, I love the way he can call his guards and tell them what to do or the phrases in his perks that show a lot about him. Do you think the fandom hates him only because he is hard or for something else? I truly love his design and all, I never regret using him
Honestly, I don't get those whiney m8s at all. Aesthetics and stuff are meant to be subjective, tho I totally agree with you in enjoying the design and dev love for details, yet, speaking of gameplay... I reckon, it's survivor mains, casuals and other breeds of smart arses who have nothing else to do but non-constructively criticize game mechanics, talk heck tons of bs and barely even play the game itself. Even if this bloody mechanic is as outlandish for dbd as you think it is, let it be, cause you know, a game with only one game mode for years sure needs something new, and without experiments, you ain't getting nowhere. Call me whatever, but I prefer harder games with more challenging, although wooden and complicated mechanics than casual hordes of soy jacks. Unnecessary complications are, imo, better than grinding and insanity according to Vaas Montenegro, which is repeating the same bloody thing over and over again expecting cripe to change.

May I ask a question to the admin? I noticed that many people while writing for Tarhos adds some Italians phrases but why? I read his backstory and he isn't Italian, can I ask for clarification? Thank you in advance
Oh, it's really simple. He was a Hungarian slave who was brought to Italy and lived there for a long time, that's why. Actually, he might know Italian even better than Hungarian, as he was taken young.

Sir Tarhos, what is your opinion on the Skull Merchant and the Singularity?
"Skull Merchant remindeth me of my scarred Dahlia bathed in possession, for her virtue in craftsmanship, use of violent machinery and surveillance. Yet, I am quite struggling to understand the oriental artworks that inspire her. As for this... Singularity... that thing of unholy creation doth prove technology shalt not be touched without virtue and caution. Also, tis quite peculiar that there art worlds other from ours in our own realm... concerning, too. Singularity be the reason."

I wish to to tell you Sir Tarhos of the Christmas Truce of AD 1914. An event where two bitter enemies that had just started war found peace in a war that was to never end. They could see each other, they watched their kin die from the other's weapons, they could hear each other's faces. And yet when the snow fell... Singing. The voices of both sides sang at first in competition but then joined together in harmony. They stood up on the barren destroyed landscape, seeing the true horrors of what was to come, and yet... they all found a moment of silence. They buried their dead, greeted one another, played games and even shared ale and drinks, told stories with another. On that day they were no longer enemies but friends perhaps even brothers.
They never thought about tomorrow when battle would commence once more, but their commanders were furious at the actions of their men which they thought of as treason or cowardice. And thus those who sang and drank together never saw each other again. For the rest of the war, not a single moment like this happened again. Or in any war since...
"That was... frankly, touching. Even too good for that wretched world I hath left behind... Let it be known... if there were more acts of pure hearts than tragedy, even I could see beauty instead of weakness and dim wits in trust. Alas, in absolute majority of times, such acts are reckless endangerment of self, while backbiters await an opportunity to stab at thy most vulnerable... oh, goodness gracious... how better 'tis all could be, and how hurts it to see this faint hope."

Greetings Sir Tarhos. Do you have a favorite Roman Emperor? Aurelian? Augustus? Cesar? Perhaps Justinian or Constantine?
"Nero. Qualis artifex pereo... as he said before his tragic death... hated and left by his own people. I love tragedy, aesthetics of insanity and ruin, while Nero was known to be haunted by images of daemons and his own mother... also, he started a great fire in Rome... Interesting enough, I know someone else of royal blood haunted by images of mother, betrayed by everyone and loving to start fires... even Nero's name also is based on colour(black in particular)... no wonder we get along so well... Anyway, the tragedy of Nero always piqued my interest."

Wish to know something more about the Ottomans and their descendants dear sir?
Well you would not like it but in 1453 A.D they did the impossible and conquered Constantinople, thus ending the Byzantine Empire and went on from the nomadic tribes of old to the most powerful Empire Eastern Europe had ever seen. Going as far as conquering lands in North Africa and many territories owned by the old Roman Empire. It wasn't until 1683 when there dreams of conquering all of Europe ended in disaster in the Battle of Vienna. When the Ottomans thought they could conquer the city, they were routed by the Winged Hussars of Poland. The most heavily armed and elite cavalry force Europe had ever seen. What made the Winged Hussars deadly was that all were of noble blood and were trained straight from childhood. In an age where gunpowder and firearms were starting to make armored knights obsolete, the Winged Hussars did the unthinkable and charged at the vulnerable flank of the Ottoman army. In the biggest Cavalry Charge the world had ever seen. 18,000 horseman charged the besieging Ottomans. In an era where gunpowder and firearms were common place, the Winged Hussars despite their loses charged on and smashed the Ottoman Army. So effective was the charge and so high were the Ottoman casualties that they fled.
The Winged Hussars cemented their legendary status in Polish History and to this day are revered and respected by the Polish People. And they are remembered for saving Europe from Ottoman expansion.
As for the Ottomans themselves, they never expanded again but would last until 1921 A.D and is remembered for being one of the longest lasting empires of all time. They last d for 6 Centuries. In the coming decades and centuries however they would lose more territory to rival empires and in one final hurrah, they would participate in what my people call, 'The First World War' which was considered as the war that ended the era of Empires. The Ottomans and their allies would eventually lose but not before committing one of the most heinous acts in history. During the War, they started the systematic deportation and murder of ethnic Armenians. the Armenians for centuries were despised by the Turks and Ottomans as a whole and were suspected of supporting the enemies of the empire. As a result many were left to starve and die in the deserts of Arabia and Syria. How many died Sir Tarhos? It's believed that 1 to 1.5 million Armenians died in what became known as 'The Armenian Genocide'.
What makes things worse?
Even today, the descendants of the Ottoman Empire or present day Turks still downplay the events and at times deny that such a horrible atrocity took place. Their schools likely never teach their children of the true scale of the carnage.
Today, the Turks and their nation are a shadow of what it used to be but the remnants of their past empire and those of their enemies still remain. Even today, the Turks and the Greeks are still bitter rivals over control for territory and the Turks of today want some Greek islands for their own while the present day Greeks wish that Constantinople was theirs once more.
Thou remindeth me of Vittorio... in a good sense. T'is curious how human nature nev'r changeth despite seemingly progressing. Doth it define, though, the direction of change? I think so. People of new age developed means to annihilate all life, yet remaining as mortal, vulnerable and flawed as people of my age. Creation for destruction without honour and virtue meaneth doom. No gods or even The Entity shalt spell the judgment day... but men. Thou mention'd million of victims in one country... thousand thousands... I think this many victims some countries had during Black Death... impressive, but not even surprising. For war... War nev'r changeth.
