Listen i know that this is basically the equivalent of thoughts and prayers but I've donated what I can and I'm stuck at home because of the Rona and I don't know what else to do. If you're going out/you know anyone going out and you want some extra protection for yourself/them, take this. Lavender Scented Ink

1 bottle black ink

½ cup cup water

1 tbsp vodka

5-10 drops lavender and rosemary essential oil

Boil herbs and water for 3 minutes, then let simmer for 45 minutes.

Cool, strain, and combine with ink

In a separate container, combine vodka and oils, then mix together.

Combine the oil mixture with ink, screw on cap, then shake.

Scented ink used be used by aristocratic women so they would have a distinct aroma once a letter was opened. For the recipe, I used lavender and rosemary, however combinations like rose, chamomile, lilac, or any other strong scent would also do perfectly fine. For myself, I like a very dark ink, so I tried another bottle without the herbs boiled down for a richer color and had a similarly strong, fragrant ink.
