Hi! I'm Blue. An alien on the internet who makes CC for The Sims 2 sometimes. Might not be super active, but if I come up with anything, I'll post it here.
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.

Hey, I love your Moonfruit Skin. How did you manage to make the vampire overlay to look gray instead of blue? Would you mind a quick explanation for that? I would love to achieve that look on the skin replacement I'm using :)
Sorry for the late reply!
It helps to make the overlay texture have more of a cyan color to it, and to play with the saturation as well. Increasing the transparency may also help it blend into a more grey tone with the base skin textures as well.
A good way to approach it is when making your vampire overlay texture, import a couple shades of skin textures into the file and place them in separate layers underneath the vampire overlay so you can get an idea of how the shades will look in-game.

Crawling out of the void to let everyone know that I recently released a small fix for CC shades 2 and 3, where elder skins were using the incorrect skintone. Should be as simple as replacing the old files in your downloads folder with the new ones.
https://modthesims.info/d/653230/moonfruit-skinblend-defaults-customs.html
Introducing the MoonFruit Skinblend! I kind of started this on a whim since I couldn’t find a skinblend I was 100% happy with. It was… an ordeal, but I think I’m happy with the end result.
I basically wanted something close to maxis-match, but with a body shading style more similar to what we have in The Sims 4 or some of the more semi-realistic skins out there, as well as more distinct fitness textures.

Hi I just wanted to know if you'll be adding a default replacement of the werewolf skin to your MoonFruit Skinblends?
Maybe someday but I haven’t really had the motivation to go in and paint fur at the moment. I guess I also don’t really have a vision for it yet. We’ll see :)

Well, here’s my first post on this blog.
So I discovered the seasoned Linden Trees by Criquette and Lowedeus a couple months ago (and subsequently the world of neighborhood deco cc) and got really excited about it. Seeing them mixed in with the vanilla birch trees felt a bit awkward though, so I wanted to try and update those myself.

Moonfruit Fix + Update
Just a little heads up, I’ve updated the Moonfruit download with fixes for the Sims4Blue shade as well as a fix for offset kneecaps on the female vampire overlays.
I also tweaked the tearducts a little bit to be more distinct, and for the eyelids to deform a bit less when blinking/eye shaping.

So a few people brought to my attention these trees don't work for them, despite meeting the requirements. I'm not totally sure what the problem is though, but if anyone's experienced with defaulting hood deco, feel free to take a look and let me know if you find anything out!

Me: Okay it’s been several days of work but I’m ready to release the skinblend!
Me, one day later: Actually lemme tweak the tearducts some more...

I really need to explore that custom slider repository. It looks super neat
I was that kid who would just hit face template #1 on all my sims back in the day and leave it at that, and now I don’t have much experience making varied sim faces. I gotta practice more.

thank you so much for sharing your moonfruit skin! its so pretty and smooth! i was just wondering if you would ever share the default shades as custom?
Glad you like them!
I initially didn’t do so because I didn’t really have a use for it on my end, though I have noticed other creators do it, so I could probably put them together and update the .zip.
Also yeah, the the less vibrant elder skins was intentional. The base game skins lose some saturation at the elder stage so I figured I’d carry that over, though I guess it’s a bit more apparent on some skins vs others.

Hi Blue!! I just wanted to say that your MoonFruit skin is SO PRETTY! The smoothness on all the skins is crazy! like the darkest shade has no pixelation at all!! though I was curious o: do you think sometime down the line, you could make a monolid version and freckled version on the skin? O: thank you so much and youve done such a great job! keep up the great work!
Thanks!
I do want to make monolid versions at some point. For now I want to read into stuff about layering so I could potentially make it a makeup layer that doesn’t affect supernatural skins or regular makeup. We’ll see!
As for freckles, do people normally just paint them directly onto the skin textures, or is there an overlay system? I’ve never really messed around with default skinsets before, so I’m not sure what the standards are, haha.

This skinblend comes with the 5 default shades (s1-4 + alien) and 5 custom shades (two light shades, two dark shades, sims 4 blue, and genie). The custom shades aren’t geneticized or townified since I’m still a bit new to that, and I figure people might want to configure their own values anyways.
GUIDE: https://vimpse.tumblr.com/skininfo
I’ve also made replacements for the eyes plus an extra alien eye texture with human colored scleras.
(Sorry, no werewolf skins yet :(. Painting these alone was quite a bit of work and I’m just not in the mood to paint fur rn, haha.)
Also be sure to check the README, since there’s two different versions of the Zombie skin depending on what EPs you have.
I also recommend getting Argon’s Skin Fix so Alien and Zombie skins update properly at different fitness levels.
These skins also come with tongues textures into their mouths. It’s not super detailed since the available space for the tongue texture was like 2x12 pixels, but it looks nice at a distance.
Lastly, I touched up the vampire overlay so your sims look less blue at darker shades. It was a little tricky getting the right overlay shade without lightening the darker skintones too much. I may still tweak it in the future, but here’s what it looks like right now.
CREDITS:
lilith-sims (No textures taken, but I referenced the teeth proportions on her Honey skinblend for mine)
falkii, squeamishsims, and alfred askew (Referenced the iris size + alfred's sclera positions from this eye set)

Do you plan to default willows and oaks?
Probably not oaks since I just use Criquette’s Linden Trees for that, but I do have a willow model I’ve been working on, that I might bundle with some other neighborhood trees later.

...Wow those trees got a lot of attention overnight, and now there’s 40 of you here.
Thanks for following! This blog’s still under construction, so most of my pages don’t work yet.
Also I’ve got a skinblend coming up as well that I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks. Just need to texture some remaining supernatural skins and package up the custom skin shades.

hi! you are the best for making those neighborhood tree defaults! thank you so much! would you be interested making a spring version of the trees as well? some kind of pink flower blossoming like? i always wished for something like that, but seasons friendly trees are so hard to find. have a nice day! <3
I can definitely try. There is a model slot for the spring season, but I’m still a bit new to texturing foliage by hand. The birch leaves were collaged from the birch tree object in build mode. I’ll post an update if I figure it out.

This pack replaces Birch Tree 01-06 plus the standalone tree that’s based off of the lot impostor birch trees. Each tree is max 234 faces.
The trees are also seasoned (spring and summer share a texture).
Let me know if there’s any issues! I’m still pretty new to making default replacements, and this was my first foray into making custom neighborhood deco.
Also the trees are cloned off of the “Forrest” tree patch that I believe was added in Apartment Life. I just replaced the guid files with those of the basegame birches. I’ve been told that these work without apartment life (for mac users at least) but it’s possible that might be different for PC players.
