As the time for our Next to Nowhere opening draws closer, we’d like to take the opportunity to present to our followers the array of adoptable characters that will be available for any interested applicants. Of course, for those who prefer making their own original characters, we will also have applications open for completely original concepts, too.

Our adoptables are provided as a choice for those who find themselves inspired by characters who come with a baseline of a name, an age, a design, and a general backstory from which our members will build a more in depth history off of. Most traits that these adoptables have can be modified per the taste of their future roleplayer, though we’d like to ask potential applicants to work with the baseline they are given! Consider it a “starting point” from which you will write a more detailed application.

To begin with, we have two adoptables to show off today. First up is…

Bat

20 moons | Any Gender A black Scottish Fold cat with rusted fur and wide orange eyes. Bat’s breed negatively impacts their health.

Unlike most residents of Nowhere, Bat was not originally born in the confines of the ghost town. The unfortunate product of poor breeding practices and irresponsible cat ownership, this former kittypet was dumped on the outskirts of Nowhere when the cost of care became too much for their twoleg to tolerate. Surviving a terrible fall into the depths of a cavern, Bat was fortunate enough to be taken under the wing of an elderly cave dwelling cat who practically raised them.

The only downside to their upbringing was a persistent insistence that the outside world was dangerous, not to be trifled with, and the very moment that Bat decided to disobey their guardian's warnings, they paid the price. Upon returning from their very first venture outside of the cavern, Bat discovered the cold, still body of their guardian. With nothing in the cave left for them, Bat abandoned their only home and inevitably stumbled across the cats of Nowhere, where they once again fortunately fell into the graces of a molly willing to offer them care. Nowadays, they are not often seen far from Hecate's side.

If you are interested in playing Bat, keep an eye out for applications opening soon! When we release our official opening post, we will provide a document that goes into further detail regarding Bat's history, alongside the stories of our remaining adoptables. We hope you are all excited to get to know the cats of Nowhere even further!
