I can't decide if I want this process to go faster or if I want things I go back to the way they were
But I can at least decide that I desire a little more support through this whole chaotic MESS.

here’s the thing about life in prison without parole: it’s always a death sentence. that’s just a fact. the person will still die, but slowly, of some illness common to old age.
people don’t really seem to get that, I think. they think life in prison is somehow easier because it’s less immediate, that an inevitable future death is less satisfying emotionally than one that happens right now.
I’m opposed to the death penalty. I’m opposed to a system that frequently condemns innocent people to death, that disproportionately kills minorities over white people, that doesn’t even deter that many people from committing capital crimes, and is inherently biased a priori because of how jury selection for death penalty cases works.
but I’m not opposed to life in prison. partially because I think it gives the maximum amount of time to find real justice if, as has been the case with so many people, the person was wrongfully convicted. and partially because I think that life in prison is worse, as a punishment, than any method of execution.
and I wish that dylann roof would spend the rest of his life (and if I were really lucky, it would be a long one) alone in a tiny concrete box, knowing that eventually he will fade into obscurity and die of something like a stroke or pneumonia, instead of being the martyr I think he wants to be.
I’m not opposed to dylann roof dying. I just want it to last longer.

There should be a paired TV show. One of the shows follows the good guys and what they do while the other show follows the bad guys and what they do. Each week shows the same story from two different perspectives.

Being loved is not the same thing as loving. When you fall in love, it is discovering the ocean after years of puddle-jumping. It is realizing you have hands. It is reaching for the tightrope when the crowds have all gone home.Do not spend time wondering if you are the type of woman men will hurt. If he leaves you with a car alarm heart, you learn to sing along. It is hard to stop loving the ocean, even after it has left you gasping, salty. So forgive yourself for the decisions you’ve made, the ones you still call mistakes when you tuck them in at night, And know this: know you are the type of woman who is searching for a place to call yours.Let the statues crumble. You have always been the place. You are a woman who can build it herself. You were born to build.

I’ve always liked quiet people: You never know if they’re dancing in a daydream or if they’re carrying the weight of the world.
