I forgot to talk about it initially after I read them and I don't know if I want to do an in depth anaylsis on the stories. But what I can say is that I absolutely LOVED the Heretic and the Wanderer and Tavronica comics.

I wouldn't say there is a TDC comic that is... insultingly bad? In my opinion, the worst they can be is unmemorable with only some nuggets of cool ideas. A lot of them to me are just mid? Like, not bad but nothing that I would revisit. Creation Myths and Dual Glaive arc were the exceptions until now.

But the recent ones? You can just see the passion and love put into them. The writing is good, the art is good, the symbolism, the panel layouts, the themes... they were handled with so much care. And that's incredibly appropriate for a project dedicated to celebrating Jim Henson's work.

I frankly was nervous about the GraGoh comic because with only four volumes that they wouldn't have enough time to explore the story and rush the conclusion. But I was pleasantly surprised with its conclusion. And the Tavronica comic? Short but sweet (or bittersweet).

What I'm getting at with this rambling is that we need more TDC comics to be written like this.

Jim Henson Presents issue #3 is dropping in comic stores now!

I hear it's got a pretty awesome Heretic & Wanderer short, and it ALSO has a TAVRA/ONICA one I worked on with J. M. Lee! SOOO EXCITED to finally reveal this.

It's been a dream project for ages. I put everything I could into these drawings, trying to do justice to Joe's lovely script. And Ángel brought all the scenes to life with gorgeous color.
