He has the “woodenly handsome” chiselled good looks, flawlessly clear piercing blue eyes, and coolly mechanical poise. Plus an innate gentleness as a person that shows when performing angry scenes. He might not have the widest range and might also be a bit small, slender, cornily all-American for a Greek god of a Spacer, but embodying the character’s vibes is more important than looks. Circa White Collar would have been perfect.

Ok so I already spoiled myself that Billie was going to be the next Doctor before watching the new season, and now I've finished watching the episode and I am SO HAPPY that she is just because I admit I have such a big crush on Billie 😭 seeing her smile made me cry, she's going to be FANTASTIC (cit!)

And there's a precedent! We know that 12th got his face as inspiration from that man in Pompeii so why not have one of his former companions as a new face?

That said this is the n(th) time that RTD has brought his self-referencing too far!!!!! This isn't season 1-4 revival!!!! We had a very mediocre Chibnall run, trying to do something new and failing and now we're having a technicolor-infused nostalgia-fest????

Also there's no reason why this Doctor had to go after only two seasons, why is this new Doctor Who so fast paced? We were only starting to get to know him!

Lux was fine, I liked the villain enough, but the episode itself was meh

Now Well is where it gets interesting, I really liked how they presented the villain, SUPER creepy, I almost shat myself, but RTD really likes to pat himself on the back making his iconic villains return, but despite of that it was a good episode, they finally handled the secondary character death well and the script was ok

So umm...the new season of new Who, huh?

I'm only on episode one, but did Davies forget how to direct and write? Why am I hearing so much about Sasha 55 when she died after two lines? And after saying in a very natural way that she would be travelling with the Doctor (death flag!)

And why are the visuals so kid-like? I feel like I'm watching an episode of Yonderland, or Lazy Town, and the editing is all over the place. And everything's laid out super clearly and said out loud, so kids can follow I guess? When the editing put together the "secret phrase", "everything's your fault, Queen Belinda", I feel like I'm watching a program for very young kids, not Doctor Who

Oh god I feel like I'm getting dumber every second I watch this episode, why is it written like this????

So to sum it up this episode had: the death of a cat, the death of the main villain who was also a victim but also a incel because they told us and they LAUGHED ABOUT IT?! Oh and yas queen...

Oh and Sasha 55, you were the best person out there, apparently?

What...what the actual FUCK is going on with Twin Peaks season 3??? It is utterly incomprehensible and so painfully slow I am so confused all. The. Time!!!

The movie was much more Lynchian than the first two seasons, but this last season is something else man, Lynch just threw whatever at the series, fuck narrative structure, fuck scripts, fuck comprehensible directing. And I'm only on episode 4!!!! I don't know if I can continue this, it is so painful to watch at times, it's like watching an old person with dementia trying to put together a coherent sentence, that's the visual representation for just how slow and confusing these first few episodes were

so i finished reading the murderbot diaries on monday and. murderbot and ART sure are intense about each other, huh.

so intense about each other i had to sit down and meditate on my reading experience through the medium of cross stitch. as one does.

(usually i'd get better pictures or at least, you know, iron it first, but i have sustained a Grievous Injury that makes standing up really hard right now, so wrinkles and awkward cropping it is.)

Yes and I add the fact that all its life Murderbot has defined relationships by human standards, in Network Effect Amena and Ratthi say that both of them know how to have relationships with humans but not with each other. This to say that understandably MB is disgusted by human sex and intimacy, and phisical contact with humans and bots, but there's the possibility that eventually it could have intimacy a different bot-exclusive way with ART, if such a thing is even possible

Murderhelion means so much to me actually. They have a relationship and it's definitely queer but it's not the human definition of romantic or sexual. They are both aroace. They share intimacy through the feed and it feels so natural its basically subconscious. The first thing Perihelion does upon meeting Murderbot is expose its entire code to it, just for an unfathomably tiny amount of time. Murderbot meets Peri and trusts it enough to modify its entire body relatively soon after. Peri sees MB having an Awful time and puts on a show for it without even asking. MB gets captured and Perihelion Immediately trains all of its missiles on the colony it was captured by without hesitation and it takes an entire TEAM of people to talk it down from blowing everything up. Peri will casually jump into MB's mind. It got captured and tortured and its memory gets fucked with and it was shut down and it used every single inch of processing power it had to find Murderbot because it knew it could save it. The two of them have no human label for their relationship but they trust each other so easily that they can become essentially one being when they have to. whatever they have going on is FANTASTIC

One of the things that makes the family conflict in Lilo & Stitch work narratively is that Cobra is correct in that Lilo and Nani's current situation is non-sustainable. And yes, Nani is not prepared to handle everything by herself. But losing the custody is not the solution either, and to a degree Cobra seems to believe the same (he legit does not want that to happen), but if Nani can't solve the problem, then from his perspective it's the least harmful solution.

And the conflict is solved because what Lilo and Nani need (what they REALLY needed) is a support net. Someone, anyone to be there to take at least SOME of the burden from Nani and give her breathing room.

Which is why Jumba and Peakley joining the family alongside Stitch, and become a constant pressence who share the burden of the household, makes all the difference.

And this does not solve all the problems, because the movie is not about magically resolving those problems, it's about putting the characters in a situation in which they can move forward as a family. And for their desire to be a family and be together as a family, to be respected.
