Advent Drabble 2: Morning

This fic drabble is a gift for: An anonymous entrant

“Are you awake?” Angela asks, softly, gently, syllables in sleepy Swiss German spread between silk-smooth kisses to Lena’s skin. Lena’s German is passable, if far from functional - Angela can trust her to know what this phrase means, or at least her just-drifted-from-dreaming mind is certain she can.

Lena is naked, sprawled in the pearly duvet; a reckless angel tangled in her own wings. Her chest rises and falls with comforting lightness.

“Are you awake?” Angela whispers again, skimming her lips lovingly across a breastbone she’s memorized the shape of from so many x-rays, so many surgeries. Lena’s breathing doesn’t change, although her face twitches - a shadow delicately flickering along her cheek, exposing the secret movement of muscle below skin.

Angela slides her fingers below a draped corner of duvet and draws a pattern of lazily demanding hunger along Lena’s inner thigh.

“Are you… awake…?” She murmurs, right up against Lena’s ear, the tips of her teeth on sensitive cartilage. Lena breathes out hard, shaky. She blinks eyes gummy with sleep.

“Good morning,” Lena says, bewildered, aroused, barely free of slumber.

“Good morning,” Angela answers, fingertips flickering higher, flowing around the outline of course curly hair, following the trail of them up to Lena’s navel and then back down again. She waits for approval before she does more, not because it’s a power game of any sort, but because as much as she burns for Lena right now the sleeping cannot consent.

Lena’s eyes flicker shut again briefly, and she inhales a sharp note at the touch.

“What’s on your mind then, I wonder?” she purrs, the invading croak of having just woken up sending the remark into the realm of the rather masculine growl.

“I wonder,” Angela says, leaning in and touching their noses together. Lena smiles and tilts her chin to kiss her. A morning kiss, full of potential, infused with the warmth of a shared bed, the knowing and familiarity of an evening side by side.

The fire in Angela’s skin might have settled quietly into something gentler, given that direction from Lena’s response. Instead, she found it suddenly stoked, the blunt tips of Lena’s nails forging a line of prickling heat from her hip to her knee, knee to hip, hip to back, encouraging her as they kiss.

Their hungry, staggered exhales mingle together between the increasing fervor of their kissing. Hands instigate, flowing over the landscape of body, touching soothingly, relentlessly, impishly. The question of Lena’s interest in such activity answered, Angela at last rolls on top of her, presses her thigh between her legs, and pins her wrists above her head.

Lena smirks up at her breathily, looking for all the world like roughly but cleverly sculpted marble, the raw promise of a genius at work, only just begun. Like a pond of ducks at the break of dawn, neither tame nor wild, neither day nor night.

She arches against Angela, pressing their bodies together, and Angela loses the words for her, but fails to lose the feeling. As they make sweaty love, she thinks, repeatedly, how lucky I am, to be here.

Advent Drabble 1: Warmth

This fic drabble is a gift for: An anonymous entrant

Warm.

She doesn’t have many points of reference for it, as a sensation.

A beam of sunlight, a patch of pleasant feeling on the surface of chilled skin, dappled with unexpected gentle heat.

The heat of her gun, after a few rounds.

After a few deaths. One shot, one kill. It takes more than one ended life for Windowmaker to feel that vaguely comforting warmth radiating from her weapon in a way it never will from her.

But oh, Lena. The heat of her is astonishing, from the blaze of her foolish passion to the simmer of her misplaced warmth. Widowmaker doesn’t touch her teammates back at base much, not if she can help it.

Unlike them, Lena stops flinching away from the undoubtedly unnerving cold of her touch after what barely counts as a fraction of a moment.

Widowmaker learns to covet that warmth, once she knows what it feels like to be enveloped in it. She endures the jeering and disapproval of those of her teammates who have caught whiffs of the situation, she endures the danger she puts her own life in if she were to be caught by the members of Overwatch, and she endures the way Lena calls her by the name of a dead woman whose corpse she inhabits.

It’s worth it, to steal that essence of life and pretend for an evening that she owns it, that it won’t leach slowly from her limbs as soon as she disentangles herself from that vehement furnace of a woman.

Never still, Lena Oxton. Bouncing around in an absurd macro mockery of the wiggling of her molecules that make her so very warm in the first place.

Perhaps that’s what she’s trying to do, when she pins Lena down - to hold her still, to inflict the same cold and the same stillness on her that she feels.

“Like a cat on a radiator, you are,” Lena remarks one day, lying on her back with Widowmaker pressing every inch of skin she can to her front, face tucked in below a chin, fingers buried in short brown hair, thighs woven together. The observation is a little too close for her liking.

She rises, dresses, leaves, wordlessly, despite Lena’s frantic and confused protests.

Lena will not see her again for a while, she decides - she will hold out as long as she can, until the lack of warmth becomes too much to bear.

She has no solution for this strange addiction, in the long run.

But what addict ever does?

I love love love your hair!!! How do you style? How often do you wash it? Tell me your secrets haha. Mine gets greasy like the day after I wash it and it never does what I want

!!!! HELLO FRIEND!! Um, any hairstyling that you saw in the Tomboy Toes shoot was done by my wife!! However, the secret is COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF HAIRSPRAY, and a really recent haircut. My hair is really dense-- and it used to get greasy really quickly too! I make sure to get it REALLY debulked when I get my haircuts. When it comes to day to day, I just brush my hair back, hold it there, and spray. Don’t be afraid of the hairspray! To get the awful crunchy feel out, just lightly brush after-- if your hairspray is good, it’ll still hold in the style you want, without the sheen lmao

I probably only wash my hair about two-three times a week-- and I only use a little. I don’t use conditioner, either! It would really grease up my hair. Make sure to switch up which shampoo you’re using every few months or so as well-- otherwise, it just leads to product build up! In regards to the kind of hairspray I use, I looooove love love Big Sexy Hair’s brands. The black and red bottles... It’s a lil pricier but you use less to do what you want! Past that, I try and brush it back into the vague style i want right after a shower, to make my life easier lmao.
