Don’t fret, I’ve not forgotten about doing comics. Got a few panels done before heading out for dinner and drinks with friends https://www.instagram.com/p/CoP_4TSsmCV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Very quick 5 minute drawing session tonight to do the last panel and get another page finished. One more page tomorrow, might do another live stream https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn-W8TVMCoi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Another comic I roughly pencilled up years ago which I’ve dug out and started doing another pass with the pencils to tighten things up a bit https://www.instagram.com/p/CnfmfZJtxXi/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I posted these last night but forgot some missing parts so I took it down. A few more things to do but this page is mostly finished now. Thought you might like to see the stages from inks to flat colour to full colour. Might do a timelapse of page 2 😀

Only got a few of these done so far, hoping I can get more done tomorrow but I might not have the 20+ I’d originally thought. Makes ‘em more rare though 😉

I’m making a conscious effort to experiment more in sketchbooks. Not everything I make needs to become a product, it can be just for me to enjoy the act of creating something. Here I’m trying out turning random blocks of watercolour into whatever comes to mind

Had a right laugh on the @awesomecomicspod Drink N Draw tonight. I’ve been in writing mode for so long now, this is the first proper ink drawing I’ve done in months https://www.instagram.com/p/CF2yMy0hJAq/?igshid=1wq0wniiiirkn

Storytelling notebook
While I'm in the midst of creating my first graphic novel, I'm always consuming content on storytelling to try up my game. I read books, watch videos online and follow lots of amazing creative folks on social media who are always posting great content.
One problem is I have a terrible memory. I can tell you what sort of ads were featured on the old VHS tape we had of Return of the Jedi recorded off TV some 30-odd years ago, but ask me what I did last week and the best you’ll often get is a vague answer.
As such, I’ve decided to try a little experiment. I’ve got loads of notebooks lying around. Ones I’ve bought, some bought for me as gifts etc, but as I mostly write notes on my phone, I barely every use them.
I’m going to start making notes as they come to me. Quotes I hear or read, or just thoughts that occur to me while I watch a film or something. Just something I can refer back to for inspiration but also I’m hoping the act of actually writing it down will help cement more stuff in my head.
Today is day 1 and I’m just blasting through a few quotes I’ve had bookmarked already but once I settle into it, I hope to add one or two a day. Just a steady drip, drip, drip of inspiring stuff which, over time, will amount to a good little resource to flick through from time-to-time.
