Noticing the strange passing of life on a gloomy October day. Like I don't have a single photo of me as a teenager, I don't even know how I looked at 15, but I'm still ashamed. I was the only one not crying at my high school graduation, I already moved on when I was still in the building. I burned all of my adolescent's diaries at a family bonfire. I let everything pass me, it's like watching shiny glass beads in a kaleidoscope, never stopping, never settling, never accepting. My heart breaks every single day and I don't even remember why. I write my story with one hand but I tear the pages out with another. A shadow of existence while constantly fleeing from your younger self. Evenings are getting darker.

every second, every waking moment

“I think about you constantly.”

ii. resolute

and when adversity barges in, an uninvited guest kicking down your door

and it looks you in the eye,

tells you that everything is hopeless, set in stone, never changing, never getting better.

and when adversity causes your doubts and fears to come and roar once more-

you take a breath.

and the world comes in, pushes adversity away and leans on your shoulder and says to you- “A world - my world, your world - it's waiting out there, you know,"

and you simply nod slowly, softly, disbelief etched in every part of your face.

and the world nods back and you think to yourself

-surely, since this is the world

and you think to yourself and you-

you let yourself take it's outstretched hand and believe,

and you believe that there is something out there for you,

believe in hope, in a brighter future.

and you believe and you let it happen,

and you believe and you let fate run its course.

and in the end you simply let yourself believe,

because what can we do but that, after all?

and adversity scoffs at the notion, even as it backs away,

even as it knows this is the end and it knows how this end will play.

and you squeeze the worlds hand and you let it go

and the world watches you go and

you continue to believe.

you are the storyteller

stand, upon this mountain and you

climb, this endless hill.

and you get pushed back

and you’re told this isn’t a place for you

and you’re told you don’t belong here.

but you are the storyteller.

you are the storyteller so you repel the affliction,

you are the storyteller so you refuse the advances splayed by those who wish you anguish,

you are the storyteller so you push past those who say you don’t belong.

those may wish you harm but

you, you have control over yourself and

them, in the end they are but voices leading you astray.

this is your life, your story,

you are the storyteller.

And the views are glorious; the sight never-ending,

You could stare at the sunset forever, gaze never condescending.

Yet you take a step back and return home,

For what is a view if it’s enjoyed all alone.

people are dumb

I don't get why anyone doesn't want to wear a mask, or thinks its "their right" to not wear a mask or something. If there's a sign saying no smoking in this area, will you go and say "But it's my right to smoke. Why are you denying me my right?" No. Because your allowed to smoke-just not there. Same with making right turns. If your not allowed to make a right turn on a street, is that denying you your right as a driver? No, because it's for the safety of others. Same with wearing a mask.
