I tried a new brush. It's good so I doodled that anime exclusive butterfly scene. I think it was quite endearing, it symbolizes Sensui's psyche and shows his love for even smaller life forms

Then Kazuya killed it... I wonder how Minoru felt...

Fun facts related to Sensui and Daffodils!

• 'Naru' or 'ナル' is an alternate reading of the kanji usually read as 'naku' or '鳴' meaning 'to cry' in Japanese.

• 'Naru' or 'ナル' is likely derived from the name 'Narcissus' or 'ナルキッソス'.

• The word 'narcissism' comes from the name 'Narcissus'. Narcissism means selfishness, involving a sense of entitlement, a lack of empathy, and a need for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.

• In a way, Naru is a narcissist as she is a crybaby who needs to be comforted by others (specifically Itsuki) and is unable to think of anything or anyone else besides herself and her needs.

• The name Sensui or '仙水' means 'sage', 'nimble', 'water', 'rivers'.

• 'Sensui' or '仙水' rearranged is 'Suisen' or '水仙' which means 'Daffodil' which is another name for the 'Narcissus' plant.

• Daffodil/Narcissus flower represents:

- Rebirth and new beginnings: Sensui's dying wish to be reincarnated as a demon in his next life (Manga).

- Hope and joy: The hope and joy young Sensui must have felt when he 'protected' the Human race against those evil demons before his view of the world was shattered forever.

- Creativity and inspiration: The amount of thought, experience and knowledge needed to become the 'perfect warrior', the inspiration of layers he needed to shield himself from the sins that tainted his body, instead forming alters and letting them take the blame.

- Renewal, purity and new beginnings: The true Sensui is devoid of any true sin, like a fallen angel who still upholds his duties even if they are warped from his original goals. His purity, his innocence and his shattered mind, the new beginnings of his life as multiple personalities in one man's body.

- Wealth, good fortune and accomplishment: Sensui being wealthy enough to afford his own apartment and necessary equipments, being fortunate to become Spirit World's Detective, being gifted with both physical and spiritual power, unnatural talent and going as far as to achieve 'Sacred Energy' in under 40 years and then ultimately accomplishing his goal of opening a tunnel to Demon World and dying at the hands of the strongest demon to ever live.

- Resilience: Sensui being extremely resilient, physically and spiritually, but not mentally.

- Vanity: The man Sensui became after he realized the humans he sought to protect were the worst kind, the feeling of worthlessness and self-loath inside him, eating at him away for the rest of his short life.

- Death: Sensui's ultimate wish of death upon himself to atone for all his sins as punishment at the hands of the strongest demon (Anime).

One of my favourite scenes of Sensui. Taking an organ smashing pounding from Yusuke, getting flown into a stalagmite then hitting the cave wall before falling into the lake, only to shrug the whole things off, complementing the teenager while simultaneously complaining how the pummeling ruined his look. All to reveal the hidden muscles and spiderweb of scars that adorned his tanned body.
