I started PHP today. It went very well honestly despite my immense anxiety regarding doing it through a different group. I have a lot more freedom than I would in any other place, so that's super nice, and I'll get to really tackle my dissociation. All in all, I'm very happy.

So I have an intake assessment tomorrow for potential IOP and I'm very nervous about it. I think the program will be beneficial for me, it's just that I'm struggling super hard trying to find a place that will take me with my work hours (trying not to adjust my schedule for this...). And I have no idea where else to look

Twitter is just shitting itself so badly I am getting super close to fully abandoning it. With this new stunt I have 0 reason to really use main (it's locked right now anyway but I'm only using it to promote other social media). Soooo... I'm enjoying alternatives way more so long as friends follow me there ;__;

did you know that approximately 20% of people on the schizophrenia spectrum never hear voices?

also: 20% may never experience any hallucinations at all.

it's really important to mention because not knowing that really hindered me in accepting my diagnosis, and it's likely that there are others out there on the schizophrenia spectrum who may not realise it or accept what they're experiencing (a common thing for people w/ schizophrenia).

i thought that in order to be schizophrenic you needed to constantly hear voices, like my uncle (and like the media often represented), so i kept denying the diagnosis when my psychologist, doctor, and later a psychiatrist, were trying to convince me that it's what i have.

even when i felt like maybe i had accepted it, i was still also really dismissive and in denial because of such a lack of public awareness over how much it really is a spectrum condition.

i experience auditory and visual hallucinations when i'm under stress (and am very sensitive to even the slightest stress too), but overall they are certainly not what i consider my most common symptom.

paranoid delusions, cognitive problems, as well as avolition and what's called the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, are what i experience every day.

hoping that maybe speaking about this will help raise awareness about how people's experiences can be different.

Don't know where my schizoaffective even begins at this point. Too much is effectively described by my dissociative disorder. But I apparently scored highly for schizophrenia when I went in for the WRONG test earlier this year so man I don't know... I hate saying I have both. It doesn't quite feel right. But both have been validated by the people around me, the former mostly by professionals and the latter by everyone.

Anyway, I'm going in for intensive outpatient sometime soon. Hoping to make some calls for it tomorrow after work. I need help
