i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"

American Puritanism permeates global culture in a way that I hate so much. For me the worst ones aren't swears but are things like suicide and sexual assault. To me it feels calculated to silence people not for protection of others online but for protection of those who hold the power. I understand the need for trigger warnings and I still strongly support the inclusion of them but after the warning is given people (especially survivors) should be able to talk freely about these issues that are so prevalent in modern culture.

You know what really fucking Annoys Me about internet censorship is stuff like swear words being heavily censored because that's entirely an American cultural hangup being forced on the rest of us. I don't know a single country where swearing is as taboo as it is in America. In fact most languages have swear words that would have the same effect on an American as giving a Victorian chimney sweep a pepsi max cherry.
