Arrowette!
Trying to figure out Cissie's legs was hell.

Tried following some previous patterns but it ended up with some weird curves that would not make sense with the skirt. Also! Look at how small the skirt is on drawing board. Then look at it on the actual gown. ROFL. T'was a tiresome effort.

It was also impossible to widen her stance without it looking really odd, like her legs were way too big for her body.
I did try to use a different pattern for this but I did not like the way it turn out.

Not good. Thus I went back to gown pattern my begrudging beloved, and did not create any shadows.

Cassie Sandsmark's wonder girl outfit!

I decided to try another pattern for Cassie's outfit but it did not feel right so... back to gown pattern it is. Note: This denim vest only appeared once on the cover of young justice 98 issue 4. The following issues have her wearing the bomber jacket instead.
Anyway, as you can see, most of Cassie's outfit came from Kon. She shares the same bottom as him! I reworked the jacket and kept it simple, just darker colours towards the bottom. I wanted to include some of her knee-guard patterns but what can you do with only 5 pixels?
For Cassie's shirt, I was upset with the lack of space to create a proper wonder woman logo. I do prefer the logo on the vest. I made a shirt just with that logo. It was simple enough; I don't think I am going to upload it.

Extras and ramblings under cut

The jacket was perfect! And by perfect, I meant a perfect item to be flaunted by the gown's puffy sleeves. Just a minor gripe, I am not confident about the length. I could have played around and extended it but I did not want to redraw the belt and remember the number of pixels for the width of his hips. Committed the sin of sloth. Sad!
Also, the sin, not me this time, of colour clipping! The thighs in front look thicker than the back; I assure you that it is entirely due to the shadows drawn around them. I am absolutely positive they utilise the same number of pixels.
I knew I would be adding unnecessary embellishments if I were to add shadows for his jacket, so I abstained. Well not really, I committed the sin of lying, I did put something on his arms but it isn't really visible much.
I am thinking of doing wonder girl's "w" shirt with her jacket and red pants. Though I might break the gown tradition since those pants end above knee. But then again I could just, draw out the whole thing? Choices, choices. I am also interested in doing Cissie's suit. The pleats/folds look a little daunting time consuming though. Anita's suit is calling to me too. I may need to stare at comic muscles again.
Anyway, as a Tim Drake mauler, I may have to return to his suits. I may try my hand at the New52 suit again. The first time I looked through the comic for reference I closed it and went to look for mr sarcastic instead. Hahaha. The red robin suit already has many very well done designs so no shortage of supply there. However, there is a shortage of full length red robin suits made using the gown pattern. So.
Alas, time is not on my side for now so maybe future suits will be, well, further into the future.

Extras under cut
For this kon el's suit I decided to try that less is more philosophy and just did the torso muscles and some bare shadows for his legs. I couldn't get the red right as usual. No matter how much I toggle, the shadow and the base looks clashing. Urgh.

Figuring out the "S" took some time, but not as much as impulse's shadows and lightning pattern. I am thankful that it turned out well. I was afraid that it might be too big or too small, but surprisingly, the number of pixel space I needed was just perfect for kon's suit. Or maybe the final product was too big. But it looks fine to me.
I didn't do anything fancy with his belts thus saving me a lot of time and palette slots. One of the scarce times the palette slot was underutilised.
The puffy cap sleeve of the gown fits this suit well. Gives the illusion of broad and muscular shoulders, which kon has.
To prevent the boots from looking like bumblebee socks, I vetoed to remove one yellow stripe. Applying that less is more philosophy.
Getting his costume reference was not difficult at all; everything I needed was in issue #1. How convenient! Both front and back, with and without jacket! Hashtag grateful, hashtag counting my blessings.
I do admit, however, the inner elbows and back look a little lacking due to the lack of shadows. What shall I do, my maximalist instincts are kicking me!
I forgot the background for this suit but the white is starting to grow on me. I know the mr sarcastic's suit also has white background.

Here comes the best suit!
Extra under cut

Figuring out the fish nets was so fun! Not in terms of design or shading but it just tickled me. Fish nets on a suit. Tim should just skip the heavy duty vigilante work and do espionage in a comedic setting. I'm just shooting off my mouth. I'm sure there are many more logical ways Tim could carry out the mission. I think he should bring slingshots around to annoy his peers wherever he goes.
It was difficult, not really, figuring out the shade allocation due to the amount of colours required. This was a max camp suit and look. A single tattoo filled one slot and was not used elsewhere. Maybe that was not strategic allocation on my part. But the blue! Ah! I wanted to use darker yellow and orange for the inner cape but there were not enough slots. The pants and the top could only have 2 shades, which of course, made things much easier but less complex looking. If I could, I would shade them, and his torso too. Alas only 1 shade of skin.
The fluffy/what-you-call-it mini cape around his neck and back was confusing. Trying to give it dimensions did not go too well. Grays were the only choice to work with, both due to palette restrictions and logical shade complements. Urgh.
I know I should have "less is more"-ed all my pieces but maximalism is my go-to mode. What can I say! Maybe I will appreciate and adapt minimalist designs, which I concur look better for pixel suits, in the future. Now is not the time for that!

Extra and grievances under cut.
Bart's suit is simple; just red and yellow. But, just like the uternet/148 robin suits, the simpler the suit, the tougher the shading. I loathe how bright the red looks. I have already toned down the yellow as much as possible but it still looks so bright. Another overhaul probably. Sigh.
I also hate how the hips look. However, decreasing the width of the hips will remove the number of pixels I have to work with and there are so many creases and shadows to work on. He has athlete legs. I sometimes wonder if I should just make it 2D. No shadows just flat colours. But that is dissatisfying. Below is the previous brighter version of the suit.

I still learnt a whole lot from this suit though. I stared at comic muscles, and red and yellow until my eyes started to swirl. *Guffaws*

Saw it and thought why not. This was quite a beautiful suit.
Extra, and, warning! Vulgarities under cut.

WIP figuring out how to make diagonal boxes, what time should the background be, and which gray would be better from the top to the bottom. Maybe the lighter blue would have been a better option. It worked better with the shading on his abs and legs. But Tim isn't on day shift, well, who knows for this story, no reason for it. On a different note, the red might look better vibrant.
It was a bitch to work with the grays. Trying to figure out how the grays clip and interact with each other was such a shitshow. I will likely have to rework this piece! Look at the "cubes" on his fucking knees and shin. Tim Drake I will get you for this! <-joke
The cape was interesting. There was no way that cape with that shape will translate well onto an acnh gown. The gown pixels stretches starting from halfway to the bottom, which is the bane of most of my problems. Urgh.
