This sheep tablet woven band might be the cutest thing I ever did. Probably because I don't do cute things often. But now I get the appeal.

One day I will make a scarf in gay male pride flag colours

And it will have some kind of panelled element or attached border (a tablet-woven band, perhaps)

Because the real purpose of the scarf is as an opportunity to join pieces using knotted insertion stitch

On the one hand I really enjoy that the AC in the office works as I would melt otherwise, but for some reason (me wearing sandals) my ankles kept feeling cold so I comitted to my first knitting project to make me a pair of leg warmers

(it would be much easier to crochet them but that would be boring and I need something purposeful to make me learn how to knit properly)

Choosing black yarn, a result of one of my first spinning attempts on top of that, was... a choice

It hides lots of mistakes (great)

Especially in the beginning, especially starting this in the evening, it meant I didn't see what I am doing, thus resulting in more mistakes (bad)

After sewing them together I was able to mend the holes my mistakes made by accident and you can't really see them in black (great)

Also the start is really wonky but as I made both legs at the same time, it is sort of symmetrical and looks almost as a design choice. Almost

Maybe I'll take some better pics later, for now I am just happy I finished

I've been wanting to learn to weave for a VERY long time now. I signed up for a rigid heddle class, and the ladies there helped me warp the loom! I spent the weekend weaving. It was so lovely.
