C: if this is okay I'd like to request about Akashi where his s/o deals with being the girlfriend of someone such as him, how hard and stressful it is considering everyone around him including Akashi himself has high expectations of her to be deserving to be his partner. If there was one thing you had learned over the course ofyou and Akashi’s relationship, it was how to handle pressure. Everyone aroundyou and Akashi always had high expectations of you, everything you did must beto perfection. You wanted to admit you had grown accustomed to the constant watchingand criticism of everything you did. Over the course of the relationship youhad developed a thick skin, but there were moments when it would get to you. Therewere times when you wanted to run away from Akashi and go back to a time whereyou weren’t required to be the definition of perfection, but you couldn’tpicture your life without him. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t amazing andsupportive, but he was a caliber all to himself. He was the corporate heir fora conglomerate, he was the president of the student body, captain of hisbasketball team…this list could go on and on.

You snuck off to your usual hiding spot when you felt thepressure starting to get overwhelming. You took a deep breath before looking atthe less than perfect grade on your test. It was far from a failing grade butthat wouldn’t stop people from criticizing her about her not being good enoughfor Akashi not to mention the feeling of letting him down. You knew fromprevious experiences how he would handle this. “I see. You’ll have to workharder to improve.” You knew it was always followed with “Akashi’s don’t fail.”It wasn’t the first nor would it be the last time that you heard those wordsleave his mouth. You sat in your private space wondering to yourself if youcould handle all this pressure. You mentally went over all the pros and cons ofbeing with someone like him. You admitted to yourself that the pressure tosucceed was high and sometimes that overwhelmed you. But there was always thatone thing that made you remember all the beautiful times you two had together. Foryour anniversary, Akashi, had gotten you a very special gift, the necklacehanging around your neck.  You wrappedyour fingers around it, closing your eyes allowing your mind to run back to theday he had given it to you.

He had taken you on the most over the top date yet, hewhisked you away right as the last bell to class rang. You’re first stop wasthe spa, messages, mani and pedi…they literally did everything to prepare youfor that evening. You smiled at remember the feeling of standing in a robenervous when they said you wouldn’t need your school uniform. You wondered ifthey would even bring clothes back to you at all, you hadn’t missed the jealouslooks and glares from some of the staff. Your relief would soon be relievedwhen one of the ladies came through the door with a wardrobe bag. Your relief wasshorted lived however; the dress she pulled out of the bag could have fed yourwhole family…for six months. You chuckled to yourself in the present at thethought of it, you weren’t opposed to spending money, but you did hate wastefulspending. Your thoughts pulled you further into that evening, being presentedto Akashi after all your pampering. “You’ve never looked more beautiful myflower.” You took his hand and he gently moved you towards where you thoughtyou were going to sit, after all this wasn’t the first time he took you here.You attempted to hid your surprise as he didn’t guide you to your normalseating, but instead walked you to the restaurant’s private balcony. “Did youthink I wanted to share your beautiful with anyone else?” You could even hearthe little amusement that was hiding in his voice.

You were pulled from your memories at the sound of a voicecalling your name. You looked up to see the very person you were just thinkingabout, you couldn’t the smile that made its way across your face. When his eyesflashed down towards the test that was placed in front of you that you froze.You couldn’t help but wait for the lecture that was going to come from himabout studying harder or asking for help when you didn’t understand anything. Youwaited but nothing seemed to come from him, not a word, not a sound nothing.You dared to sneak a glance up at him, his eyes were looking gently at you. Helowered himself until he was sitting across from you, he still hadn’t spoken aword. You didn’t even realize that your hands were shaking until he took one ofthem in his hands. “I know, I’ve been hard on you in the past my dove.” Youswallowed hard, trying to push down the lump that was growing in your throat. “Iknow the pressure is hard to handle and you’ve borne it so well.” You feltyourself relax, when he pulled you close to his chest. You wrapped your armsaround his waist and rested your head on his chest, you wanted to believe thathis recent loss in the winter cup had changed him. You had hoped that the tasteof defeat would be a realization of what loss and struggle felt like. You werethankful when you found out that you weren’t exactly wrong.

You knew Akashi was thrown into this world of pressure frombirth, he was after all the heir to a conglomerate. You knew he was forced intobeing an adult at such a young age and trying to find the right balance wasnever easy for him. You had always strived to not add pressure to him, but youalways felt that there was Akashi’s. One who was the sweet and loving personnow holding you in his arms, and the other cruel the one quick to chastise youfor making mistakes.  You admittedrecently you saw a change in him, as if the pressure wasn’t the driving forceanymore. It appeared that he priorities had changed, he stopped caring aboutalways being the definition of perfection. He started caring about his ownpriorities and molding himself into what he wanted to be, instead of what hisfather wanted him to be. You felt shift under you, prompting you to lean backand take a long look at him. “But really my dove, we are going to have to putin some extra studying to help bring this grade up.” You groaned, while hechuckled. You admitted to yourself you wouldn’t change a thing about yourrelationship, the pressure and all.

Part One

Roses are Blue

              Her red hair was seen flying through the halls of the Palace in Ishgar’s capitol. Flower petals left a trail as they fell from the bouquet she had in her arms. Beautiful blue roses. His favorite. He said he loved the way they looked against her skin, next to her hair. He said they made her light up a room even more, if that were possible.

           Laughter and snide chuckles could be heard that day under the breathes of dragons and mages alike. He had been gone for a month or so, maybe longer. On some detail mission to scope out the new threat trying to make its way across the sea. Mages and dragons in Fiore for some reason, have been at war. The war was on the cusp of spilling onto their doorsteps here. Blood was starting to fill the sea between them.

             Eileen dropped the roses on the floor as she slammed herself into him, embracing him. “You’re okay.” She sighed as tears started to roll down her face. “I missed you so much.” She whispered. He tenderly lifted her face to his and kissed her nose. “It was too long.” He groaned. “Next time, you’re coming with me, my Queen.” He brushed his lips against hers. Her body went into a frenzy at his touch. Just as she was about to entangle herself in him, she had to throw her self away. Quickly to a pail, she knelt by his bed, and gagged.

           “Oh my, what’s this?” he said worriedly as he pulled her hair back, and helped her hold the pail still. She took a breath, as if to say something, but could not. Her head was back in the pail, and he was doing everything he could to comfort her in the moment.

           Once the spell was over, she curled up in his bed with a cup of water and a pillow. “I’m sorry.” She whispered. He shook his head and sighed. “Well, that’s certainly not the exciting home coming I was looking for.” He laughed, “but I’m just glad to be home. With you.” He brushed a few strands of red hair from her face. He growled affectionately as he looked her deeply in the eyes. “We’ve got a lot to talk about. I saw so much while I was there. Learned so much.” He said almost uncomfortably. “but first, tell me about your time while I was away.”

           Her face flushed and she fumbled over her words. “Oh no, just you know..keeping things running smoothly here. More meetings with the dragons as we try to plan for the coming war. Nothing too exciting,..” her hand moved to her stomach. “except…”  He raised an eyebrow at her. “Stop playing word games, except what?”

           “I’ll tell you tomorrow.” She promised. “Spend the night with me. Let’s not talk of anything, just show me how much you missed me.” She cooed as she pulled at his black cloak. He grinned at her, pulling her onto his lap as she tangled her hands in his wild hair. “Are you sure you’re up for that? You wont be getting any sleep if that’s the case.” He whispered against her neck. She nodded as she traced his jaw with her tongue.
